I love drifting, so I found this with my navigation. Easy to find plenty of parking on the street. It was definitely clean. It didn't smell bad like a thrift shop. The prices were very high for the worn out stuff. There were a few things that look nice but not my style I was looking for sweatpants and T-shirts with brand names. They were all overpriced. If someone is looking for more fancier outfits they did have some nicer things that looked OK. read more

We walked in and she was on the phone not even acknowledging us until I cleared my throat to get her attention she proceeded to be on the phone (not a business call, was a personal call she was making plans to go to the movies later) she was also on speaker phone and when we left we said bye and thank you and she didn't even look up. I liked Jessica's and was curious to see how the store was after a few months with the new owner. The whole time I was there the new owner ranted and complained about the street construction on Mission and horribly inconvenient it was for her and her customers. She went on indignantly that she was so well off that she didn't even need the store nor did she need to be open, and that she was going to take her daughter to a resort in Mexico for 1-2 weeks until it was done. Really? I'm just here to look at clothes- very unprofessional and unpleasant!     Fast forward 2 years- Pros: Store: beautiful Cons: Clothes: expensive/designer Sizes: smaller Styles: older Owner: she was cooly civil at best. Neither her tone nor attitude was remotely welcoming. Midway through our browsing she gets her lunch and proceeds to noisily eat at the front counter, even though I was trying to look at the jewelry in the case. Since most of your reviews are quite old, I thought I'd bring you up to date. Completely ignored by the saleswoman, and when I did ask her a question she seemed bothered. Most of the clothes are ridiculously expensive, and very few in anything larger than size 6. The woman even had the nerve to insult my body-type saying my ""boobies were too big". My favorite consignment in California and a tie for favorite in America (My Sister's Closet in Scottsdale is amazing). I found this the week I officially left a five-year relationship and left SB, and I can't believe I didn't know about it. Every time I passed the store, I just saw a bunch of jeans on a rack outside. There is almost NO activity (not even a full pelvic exam) I loathe as much as trying on jeans. So i never went in. OMG: my first visit I bought a vintage Nicole Miller the cleaning ladies back east washed in a machine but which I hope to re-wash and block out, or just wear over leggings with boots. 78. I have never received less than five compliments any night I wear this dress and if I post a picture on social media, people who never remark on clothing make a point of how fabulous it is. I also bought a Nanette Lepore for 75: it's one of my most frequently-worn dresses. In December, I spent about 300 and this was my take: 1) Two black-tie appropriate dresses: one long red gown with spaghetti straps, heavily lined, substantial and one black/white mid-calf dress that would work at black-tie if accessorized properly. Together they were 85. 2) Three cashmere sweaters: 110 for all. 3) Never worn Theory patent leather heels (burgundy/brown) with a thin strap (Mary Jane-style): 35. 4) A sparkly mauve cowl neck, perfect for casual holiday wear over jeans or any time you want a little sparkle: 20. I will never go up to Santa Barbara for an appointment without making a stop here. They're particularly great on sweaters and dresses. And lots of cute cheap trinkets (earrings and necklaces for 30 and under). No wonder it was voted Best Consignment/Used Clothing in SB for 18 straight years by the Independent. read more

I went in for the first time today and was excited as I had been meaning to check out this store for sometime. The person at the desk didn't acknowledge me what-so-ever. It's a really small store so it made for an uncomfortable experience. Even though the selection of clothing is high quality their customer service is not. I have driven by this store for YEARS and finally had the opportunity to stop in this week. My main goal was to spend some $ and help out a local business during this horrific pandemic. I was the only person in the store. The woman at the register did not acknowledge me and was on a personal phone call the entire time I was there. Another woman walked in to inquire about a dress on a maniquin. The woman on the phone did not even offer to help her get it off the maniquin so she could try it on. As I walked out she didn't even acknowledge me. No customer service. Prices weren't even that good. I was ready to spend some $ but I was so turned off by the experience. Good luck Jessica...or whoever you are. I guess they don't need the business. I will not recommend this store to anyone. I'd rather pay fpull price and help out the big box stores. So sad. read more

Jessica's is such an awesome consignment store!! The selection is great and everything is in amazing condition. The price range reflects the pieces and the quality she carries- there are a number of very upscale brands (think Prada, Gucci, Fendi..) on the higher end but still affordable, but there are also very reasonably priced pieces from BCBG, Express, etc. Plus, the sale rack on the back wall has so many great finds! The owner, Jessica, is exuberant and enthusiastic about what she does. She and the staff helped me find specific items that I was looking for. I went to check out this little boutique and found it to be okay, they did have some nice things but it was really hard to find parking and when I finally did they seemed a little preoccupied and snobbish...perhaps they were just having a bad day. I needed a 1920's-esque dress for a party. I visited a ton of other local stores hoping to find something, new or vintage, and couldn't find a single thing that would work and was reasonably priced. Then I visited Jessica's and found tons of dresses that did the trick! I had a hard time deciding which to buy. I even left with a couple of items that I wasn't initially looking for. The lady working was extremely polite, relaxed and jovial. The prices were fantastic, especially for Santa Barbara. AND parking was a breeze. I will definitely go back! read more

I went in there to make an appointment to consign and the woman working was very rude. I don't believe it was the owner because I've seen her there before. I only had 2 items in hand that would have taken her 2 minutes to look at and she said the soonest she could make an appointment was a month out...and her tone was very condescending, telling me that she already had someone waiting (who was nowhere in sight). If you are in the business of consigning other people's clothes, this is probably the wrong way to go about talking to them. read more

I first went to Jessica almost 10 years ago, and have been in & out, but always find great items--this place beats LA by far for top fashion at super prices. I hadn't been in in a while but found their amazing instagram with some oh so cute outfits (you GOTTA check it out!). Got a Dolce & Gabanna dress for $120, was probably $450 original. My haul included 3 tops for layering and two pairs of jeans. And the shoes--don't get me started, I *love* Prada and could never afford except at a place like this. (Must be the rich and famous bringing their stuff in.) Glad I don't live nearby or I'd be bankrupt. Lovely helpful shopgirl. I've been to lots of consignment shops and none are as fun as this, clean, organized, super items. If you're passing thru Santa Barbara, this is the place to stop, just a few blocks off the freeway exit, and coffee shop for pit stop across the street, not to mention SB's McConnell's ice cream store right there. read more
