I have access to a wealth of cute, trendy clothing stores in LA and was pleasantly surprised to find a store actually on par with those stores (my apologies to the plethora of boho chic places in SB, y'all just aren't my style). Not only that but at similar prices as I could understand the owner charging slightly more because of how few stores there are like this in the city (and the other stores DO charge more!). You can tell how much the store owner cares about her customers. This is one of the few boutiques that stays open on the "later" side and they don't rush you out at 6:40 to close at 6:50... If you even waltz in at 6:50 they are SO kind and tell you to take your time! I once stopped in just to say hi and the workers were really encouraging of me perusing. The store owner also always remembers me even though I'm not a local - I'm wondering if the person who found her rude is confusing this with another store because there's no way!!!! A while back I started getting my hair done at Carlyle Salon, which is a whole other amazing review in itself but to keep the focus in this review, I thought that this quaint little boutique tucked inside a salon was a major bonus. I've found some of my most favorite statement pieces and outfits at Chapala and Parker. Everything from an embroidered floral clutch that matches with everything, to a romper that I never thought would compliment my shape, to earrings that I never take off, and candles I never want to blow out! They feature a variety of different clothing pieces from casual to date-night looks, and they're always "in-season". No matter the occasion there is always something extra special and cute to be found at Chapala and Parker. Last Friday I visited the boutique with a friend, it had been a long time since we stopped by and we needed an end of the week pick-me-up. Due to Covid, there was a sign prompting us to call before we entered so that someone could let us in. Someone who was wearing a mask, and who kindly asked to please use the hand sanitizer provided before entering, came to let us in. THIS IS SO MAJORLY IMPORTANT! My friend and I had been to the boutique in the Funk Zone prior to coming to Chapala and Parker and there was NO sanitizer whatsoever in sight and the employees reluctantly put masks on whenever someone entered the store, which also did NOT seem to be regulated in any way. We did not feel that we were being kept safe there, however we were pleasantly surprised and excited to see that Chapala and Parker was practicing safe Covid methods for shoppers, and that they were still operating on regular business hours. I recognized the woman as the Carlyle salon owner Lisa, who is just the sweetest most friendly woman on the planet. She made my friend and I feel as if we all three knew each other and engaged in conversation with us for almost the entire time we were in the boutique. My friend and I left with timeless outfits that could be worn all season, cute affordable earrings to match, and mostly the feeling that our stop in the shop that Friday meant something more than just retail therapy. All in all, I highly recommend Chapala and Parker as one of the best and friendliest boutiques in Santa Barbara :)

What I love most about this place is that the pieces have so much personality and charm--you don't feel like you're wearing something everyone else has. The shop is attractive and inviting, with display windows I usually check out when I'm passing by on the street. It carries a curated list of high-end brands for men and women, and the clothing is on the cool side of fashion meant for wealthy, middle-aged residents of Montecito. Not edgy but not totally dorky, all of it well made. I picked out a few shirts and got them wrapped up in a handsome gift box. My husband was surprised and pleased with his present, though he needed a different size for one of the shirts. I exchanged it the next day, no problem. Both of the sales clerks I interacted with were helpful and pleasant. I tried on a button-down shirt for myself, too, but it was a bit pricey for a random purchase on somebody else's birthday. If my husband were an entirely different person, I might send him to K. Frank on my birthday, to buy something nice for me.
