Staff working on an early Friday afternoon seem pretty bored and she was not welcoming. We left and did not purchase anything. I could back and maybe we'd have a different experience. read more

Another place that we just happened to pop into. First off, there's loads of boutique and hidden gems off the main strip that offered amazing gifts. The shop is such a cute little space that has loads of amazing pieces. One of a kind to pieces that is a much and staple in everyone's closet. The selection was amazing. We just did a quick browse through which honestly, you could spend some time going through the racks and trying everything on. The lives they had were fun and totally chic. California vibe meets vintage chic with amazing coats and accessories. Really wanted everything there which I'm sure their customers are used to. There were racks and racks of fun pieces for every taste. The jeans selection was great with loads of style. There's something for everyone. There's a parking right out front which helps as street parking is pretty tight. read more

I heard about Dylan Star recently from social media influencers and was intrigued to go to this store! They were described as fun, helpful, supportive to women and of course having beautiful clothing. I also saw on IG that they were supporting a non-profit by collecting bras for an underserved population (I can't quite recall all the details but I thought it was a lovely gesture). So I go in today with a bag full of bras to donate and optimism of finding cute work attire. The front is so cute with the seating area! Very welcoming and they have a private parking lot. I walk into the store and am welcomed by a staff member. I tell them I brought bras for the donation and she seemed to have no idea what I was talking about but took them to the back. I then walked around and looked at the amazing collection of clothing (so many styles, colors, patterns, etc.)! Gorgeous store! The staff asked if she could help me find anything in particular and I told her I was looking for work tops/sweaters and saw this influencer post about her recent shopping trip and tagged Dylan Star. The staff had no clue what I was talking about and didn't engage me any further. She essentially dismissed me by walking away and not trying to ask questions or get to know what I was looking for. I was shocked especially considering this store is known for picking out items and dressing you. Where was the charm? The support? The fun? Anything! I was so letdown by this staff who was either untrained, unaware, or just plain too good to help me. I literally left feeling worse than when I came in. I don't want to misrepresent the entirety of the store by giving a 1 or 2 star review but damn do I feel they hardly deserve a 3 star review. read more

For both women and men, this Funk Zone shop has so many specialty gift items. I went in looking for some very specific items, and ended up finding so much more, and even some fun things for myself. On my first visit there were a couple things they did not have, and they asked me leave my contact information to alert me when those items were in the shop. Well, sure enough they did text me soon after letting me know that they had received some of those items I had mentioned, and right before Christmas, it was perfect timing. Now THAT'S quality customer service. Thanks to owner Erica and salesperson Karissa for paying such special attention to us customers. They are so helpful in making sure you find exactly what you want . . . and so much more. read more

I heard about Dylan Star from Instagram and I'm so glad I did! I haven't been to the store in person but I worked with Erica to create two Mother's Day gift baskets for my mom and aunt. I know small businesses during this time are struggling, so I thought her idea of creating personalized gift baskets was really fun and unique! She was so patient and worked with me to make sure I was happy with all the items in each basket. I can't be home in Santa Barbara for Mother's Day, but I'm sure my mom and aunt will love their gifts. I can't wait to stop by the store once things get back to normal! read more

Dylan Star has really impressed me. Its been hard to find good quality clothes and shoes at a reasonable price. The selection is great. I found the best jeans.. Just Black and Flying Monkeys. They both feel like you are wearing pajamas. I've always have had a problem picking out cute clothes. Erica, the owner, personally picked out clothes for me. Everything I tried on I loved. Great store, great owner, REAL retail store assistance, Finally! Finally a store that A. greats you when you enter B. Assists you in finding what you're looking for and more IF you want and C. No entitled worker on their phone talking about something others shouldn't know about! Yay! 6 Starts for Dylan Star! OH! And they have GREAT clothes! ALL PRICE RANGES - You can easily walk out with a cute top and Jens/pants for under $100 or there are cute sweaters and skirts/dresses for a bit more. The 50% off section has a nice variety with all season deals. Return for full credit within two days - or store credit within 2 weeks ( I believe) , and dressing rooms are open! It's like having a mini Nordstrom, and right now they are in Paseo Nuevo next to Sephora:) I love this store! I was in for the first time yesterday and the owner could not have been a nicer, better, non-pushy, attentive sales person. Pride in store ownership. Shopped here yesterday. I can't believe how cute the place is for having only opened last week. It's actually inside a hair salon which is such a smart idea. I think the owner knows what she's doing -- very Santa Barbara styles but you can tell the fabric is good quality and the prices were great. Most things were under $100. My dress was $54. I'll be popping in 1x a week at least!! read more

I have always had a very hard time shopping for myself. I typically go alone so I don't have anyone to give me an honest opinion. When I found out that Erica was opening this shop I got so excited. Her style has always been on point, cute, and very attractive. Every time I have gone I have always gravitated towards what I'm used to-but then Erica takes over. She had me in 3-4 completely different outfits that I would never have chosen for myself. And the outfits felt good on! I felt comfortable in them physically and mentally. Erica knew what areas of my body I wanted to hide and she knew how to hide them. She was sensitive to that, and that made me love the whole experience even more. I have gone back since and will many times again. I also love the fact that she's always getting new styles and brands so that there will always be new things to try on. And I have to say-I've never even tried on an ankle bootie-and she got me in a pair and now I love them! read more

This place is beyond cute! The ambiance is great, and the clothes are super high quality without being over the top expensive. When you go in and feel the fabrics, you know you are in the right place. The owner is an ex-model, so she really knows her stuff and helped me find an outfit that I would have never thought to pick out myself. I've been wanting to go here for a while and I finally got down there and basically loved just about everything in the store. It's usually hard for my to find clothes that 1. I like and 2. Fit right 3. I feel comfortable in. It was amazing and I'm so glad I stopped in. I was surprised with how much I left with. I wore one of my first shirts out and got a huge compliment within the first hour and it was a really good feeling. For the first time I feel like I have style. That's a win win for us. And she literally gets complimented on the clothing every time we are out. People are always asking, "where did you get that, I love it." I hate shopping, but I love this store because it has clothes for every occasion, the prices are not outrageous, and Erica knows exactly what looks best on you and works best for you. Not only are the clothes super cute, but the store itself is really adorable. Walked into Diani was not greeted at all. I didn't take immediate offense since I understand that staff can be busy. I walked around and then was curious about the beautiful jewelry in the case. I could hear the staff member organizing sections of clothing. I never once was acknowledged or even asked if I would like assistance or if I would like to see something. Absolutely nothing. Now I have a few friends that shop there frequently and never have I been told that the service was poor and rude so I didn't have any preconceived notions. I decided to leave and when I turned around saw the staff member organizing sections and I said hello. Her reply was cold and dismissive but she did say hello. The first thing I thought of was wow, people should always treat others with respect especially in a high end store, you never ever know who has a lot of money in Santa Barbara so therefore judging is just poor etiquette! I will never go back to that store and maybe the staff member should remember that she is working for the store clearly not shopping in it. Diani please be respectful, Santa Barbara is a small town.
