Upon stepping one foot inside, I was approached by a rude store employee who was only polite enough to pull the phone from her ear long enough to look me up and down, roll her eyes at my tattoos, and tell me I couldn't enter her store without a mask.. I get it COVID 19. Whatever. I was willing to go out and put my mask on. That is UNTIL three old, well dressed, white ladies walked in without masks and she happily greeted them and let them go about their shopping without being bothered. I happened to be eating lunch next door and noticed several other individuals enter the store and make purchases without masks during my stay. They were all "rich looking" white folk. Go figure. *Make note that this is not a "race" post, as I am white as well. This is about their snooty, better-than-you attitudes towards people they know nothing about.*

They have high quality, beautifully crafted ornaments around the holiday season with a beach flare that comes through in a lot of their items which I find very appealing. It's a quintessential, small tourist town gift shop. But I really like their execution. They've got good taste, not outrageous prices and are friendly. The store is also very well stocked with a variety of goods and changes pretty regularly. I come to the central coast quarterly and am always discovering new finds here. Think handmade soaps, cutesy signs and lots of girlie stuff; it's adorable. On this trip, my favorite discovery were their liquid handsoaps- some had little seashells in the bottom and the other had small pearls. A unique little extra touch that makes for a very interesting item and a good conversation starter. Would recommend stopping in if you're in town.

I've discovered so many brands here that I genuinely love and wear on repeat, including Shaina Mote, B Sides, Cawley, Flore Flore, Hai, &Daughter, and Ichi Antiquités. They also carry Living Libations, a line of organic, pure, renegade beauty products that aligns perfectly with the shop's thoughtful ethos. I'm especially obsessed with the Frankincense Best Skin Ever. Yes, it's an investment, but the pieces are exceptionally well made and designed to last. This is slow fashion and conscious consumption done right. I don't come here to splurge all the time. I'm intentional about whether I'll truly wear something, and when it makes sense, I go for it. Other times, I just browse and get inspired, so don't let sticker shock stop you from checking it out. The staff is always helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable without ever feeling pushy.
