It's been a while since I've stepped foot inside of a brick-and-mortar and decided that since I was in the area, I'd see what they had out on the floor. I knew Brandy Melville for having good basics and was in search of a black bralette / bandeau, which I did not find exactly what I was looking for, however, I did find a few cute basic tanks and a pair of shorts with Santa Barbara screen printed on. Since I didn't need to try anything on -- most items should be O/S, I will comment that there was a long line for the fitting rooms. There was also WAY TOO MANY people who did not really need to be inside (like guys just standing around with their girl friends, etc. taking up space for other shoppers - just my opinion though). You can do a few short laps around different sections of the store, viewing tables and walls of which you were not able to see when you were standing around those spaces to begin with. The cash register had what looked to be 2-3 girls taking anyone who made eye contact for checkout. I wouldn't say they were the most engaging nor friendly, but I wasn't there to have a good experience, I just wanted to grab my things and go - therefore, checkout was quick, unpersonable, and I suppose, expected due to the type of customer or experience they might usually have? Not sure -- like I said, it's been a minute since I've been to a location and usually in Walnut Creek or Los Angeles. Prices are still okay though which is why we go. read more

My 14 year old size 0 niece loves this store. We came here from Oxnard so she could spend her Christmas gift card. She loves the styles, and the fact that everything fits her perfectly. I would look like a watermelon smooshed into a nylon sticking, if I tried to wear any of these fashions, but she looks like a runway model. God help her parents when she starts dating. read more

First time in the Santa Barbara store. Skip this store and go to the one in Thousand Oaks. Better customer service and friendlier in Thousand Oaks. Two young workers in the Santa Barbara store, not wearing bras.....talking about everything else other than work and one dropped the F bomb. A customer did not want an item and left it on the counter. I came back a few minutes later to ask where the other employee put it because I liked that color and her response was. "I'm not sure...." Zero help, kept folding clothes. The store is dirty and dusty, you can see all the dust accumulated on the clothing on the walls. Clothes piled up everywhere, rolling carts with clothes blocking the other entrance. Safety and fire hazard for sure. Only 2 dressing rooms, middle one had boxes in it. We went there so my daughter and her friends could use gift cards. Never again!!!! Forgot to add that I wanted to see a necklace behind the folding table area. (ALL jewelry is behind the folding table area) No one would help me so I walked around so I could get a better view. This place has horrendous customer service. All The workers are sh*t talking in the front. I'm short, struggling to grab a top from the upper shelf and they just watch me struggle! Until my mom grabs a stool which had clothes on it, and we use that stool to grab the shirt. Then once I got off the stool one of the girls has the audacity to smile at me. None of them offered help, just stayed there, being useless, talking about who knows what. Take your money to the Westlake location or Malibu location where they're actually helpful. read more

There were only two open dressing rooms and the line took approximately 30 minutes so that I could try something on. During that time, I had to listen to all of the employees cursing-using the F word, gossiping -including talking about getting restraining orders on people. Very immature and unprofessional conversations by the employees while customers are in the store. Unfortunately, the Brandy Melville in Delray Beach Florida has employees that are rude and impolite. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Seriously. I have never witnessed such terrible service. This place is a mess. There are boxes everywhere all over the store and in the isles. There are clothes scattered all over the floor. Not to mention the floor has dust and dirt everywhere. It hasn't been swept or cleaned. The girls dress terribly. They come to work with their thongs hanging out of their pants. It's so inappropriate. And there are children shopping for clothes with their parents. The "workers" aren't even working. They're on their phones the entire time gossiping and talking trash about their previous customers. I feel judged and not wanted. No one even greeted me or offered help. Don't go here. My sister and I were celebrating her birthday and decided to stop in the Santa Barbara Brandy Melville. The second we walked into the store, we felt targeted. There was a blonde employee with a slick back bun wearing white Adidas Sambas, a white shirt, and light blue jeans. We started browsing items and noticed that she was glaring at us. We didn't think much of it until we were in line for the fitting room. My sister and I noticed the line was long, so we offered to go into the same stall and save time. The employee rudely told us no and said "only one of you can fit at a time." Then she held out her hand and demanded for us to give her our bags. She did not take ANYONE ELSE'S bags in line. Nevertheless, my sister and I were cordial, kind, polite, and smiling. After we left the fitting room, we walked more around the store to see if we liked anything else. The employee proceeded to FOLLOW US everywhere we went. Every time we looked up, she was glaring at us. At one point, I opened my bag to pull out my wallet, looked up, and she was 3 feet away from me, glaring at me. I'm not sure if this had anything to do with it, but my sister and I are Asian Americans and we were the only non-white people in the store. The employee was white. After this behavior continued, we decided to leave the store. This ruined my sister's birthday and she cried after we left. It is not okay to treat people like this. I took my two daughters shopping here on a slow Saturday. Our hands were full with clothes trying to navigate the store. No one offered us a dressing room or assistance or even acknowledged our existence. We helped ourselves to a dressing room and then the girl standing behind the register doing nothing starts barking orders about one person in a dressing room(my girls are clearly twins and need to communicate and try on together to find what works best for both) so my daughter decided to take on the roll of trying on and decision making for the both. she continues to bark about not leaving anything in the dressing room when your done. It was such a dampener on our girls day shopping experience. We then walk to the the register and same girl that had a voice when we went to try on suddenly lost her voice and wouldn't talk to us. It pained me to give money to this place, but I love my daughters more. I told them don't ever treat anyone like they treated us. The only reason I still shop here is because it's the only place that I can ensure the clothes will fit me without trying anything on. every girl that was working at the store tonight was so rude and unhelpful. it's almost like they don't want you in there at all... In case you ladies were unaware of customer service, employees should be welcoming people, not making them want to leave. I have been happily shopping here for at least the past 8 years-thousands of dollars to this store. The one size fits all is one thing, but Jesus let me at least enjoy spending money for your brand. I came to write about my poor customer service experience here, but apparently multiple years worth of people have beaten me to it! I cant believe the upper management hasn't addressed all these complaints for this location. I've never been to a BM store before, but I was in town and decided to stop in. The store itself is small and quaint. Though, the dressing rooms were a bit annoying and stressful as the only cover is a linen curtain that doesn't close all the way. When I entered, the workers were in the corner talking to each other, not acknowledging anything or anyone around them. When I went to checkout, -I kid you not- the cashier didn't say a single word to me the whole process. Not a "hello" or even a "swipe your card now". What really made me laugh was when I asked her where to find a shirt I saw on a mannequin, she just POINTED at a corner of the store directing me to it then went back to whatever she was doing. I shop at Brandy a lot. Most of my closet is Brandy and I honestly love some of the clothes but the people who work there are super disrespectful. The girls who work the register are always so rude and they always have the nastiest looks on their faces as they're ringing me up. They think they are superior and entitled and it's so gross. Workers are unprofessional, disrespectful, and racist. Today my friend and I walked into the store, and the four girls at the counter made her get out of the dressing room to ask if she brought underwear with her inside (she didn't), and then talked about her in front of the customers and asked her where she put one of the red tops she tried on-- when she put it back right in front of them. I get that there is a lot of theft from Brandy, but my friend was the only one that was questioned in the store amongst other girls that were trying on a lot more clothes than her. My friend also happened to be the only person of color. This happens nearly every time we go in -- we confronted them about this behavior and they brushed it off without an apology or recognizing this implicit behavior. Literally so many other reviews under this store have talked about this issue. Minorities and POCs coming into the store and feeling unwelcomed, followed, questioned without even trying on a single article of clothing, while the white girls can walk out with hundreds of dollars worth of stolen clothes and no one was going to say a thing. No one acknowledges you when you walk in even though there are multiple people working. The girls were standing around talking about boys with eachother and speaking inappropriately. It was such an uncomfortable environment that it made me want to leave. It felt like a bunch of high school mean girls. Also, even though the store is very small, it took a while to get someone to check us out finally. The employees just stare which was incredibly rude and also did not say anything to me and my family even though we were there for about 20 minutes. If could give this Brandy Melville zero stars I would. I traveled to SB from LA & have been to multiple brandys in California and even Europe and this location was the worst one I've been too. I walked in with my girls & immediately a worker is fixing the clothes around where we're looking practically walking through me/bumping into and did this MULTIPLE times absolutely disrespectful as a person as an employee. I felt extremely uncomfortable not being able to look around comfortably and knowing I'm not a size 0 already makes me uncomfortable walking into a brandy let alone a disrespectful employee, on top of that a selection was trash, even a pacsun has better selection. If this review gets to management I went in 6/11 around 12:15-20 PM 3 girls working on floor the disrespectful employee had reddish hair jeans and dark blue purple sweater please have a conversation with this employee or find people will make the shopping experience at this location more comfortable. My daughter loves Brandy Melville but when we walked into this location it was a very disappointing and disorganized store. We make it a family event to visit the store every where we go (Washington DC, Paris, London etc). The employees were chatting by the cash register not assisting any of the customers. The dressing rooms we stacked with piles of clothes that needed to be placed back on display and other customers were complaining about it as well. It was very disappointing and my 15 year old daughter did not want to buy anything. They need to hire a better manager and train their employees on better customer service and work ethic. read more

I came to this store with some friends and as soon as we walked in the employees were staring at us in a very unfriendly manner; not welcoming at all. We shopped around for a while and none of the girls working there asked if we needed help or anything of that sort. Once we were about to leave the store, one of the employees said she found a tag in the dressing room that one of us had come out of and that she needs to search her bag to make sure she's not stealing. This location is more organized and has a nice boutiquey feel than the shop on 3rd Street Promenade which is overwhelming with the overly full tables and merchandising repeated on every other fixture. This location looks great and their assortment appeals to women of all ages. They took over the Michael Stars location and is a nice addition to the shopping on State Street. Stop on by and check them out. They had some fun California State theme items that makes a perfect gift that won't cost a fortune. read more
