He had a lot of trouble keeping track of my wiring and ended up trying to give me my computer back without the fan lights working. Let me be clear - I brought the computer to him with the side plate off, he saw firsthand what needed to be done right from the onset. In the end, I realized he was doing all this wiring work without consulting the motherboard manual.. Like basically guessing? I don't know what he was thinking but the way he was working was very inefficient. At a surprisingly high $75/hour higher skill level was anticipated. He then asked me to supply him with the motherboard name, claiming there was just no way for him to figure this out on his own.... Have you ever heard of Device Manager? I guess not.. Which is stunning. Even my computer illiterate parents know what Device Manager is. All in all I got my computer back in almost the condition I gave it to him in.. He refused to reattach the wire comb I had for my motherboard / CPU power so I will unfortunately have to re-open that side of my rig and reinstall that at some point. The cost for all this nonsense and ineptitude? A little over $200. To install an $80 HDD. He wanted to charge me a lot more, almost double that.. So I guess you could say I got a good deal? I don't feel like I did. I give two stars only because in the end he almost put my PC back together correctly. But I really would have rather avoided the literal *arguments* that got me to that point. I had to fight for my rights as a customer. Not fun. This man sucks, like I said, he should've retired around the time Windows Vista came out. He might be good if you're having issues with a PC running Windows 3.1 or '98. I would recommend you *not* contact this guy. Save yourself the headache and avoid the highway robbery.

He was always on it right away, and worked diligently to get it back up and running as quickly as possible---but sometimes you just have to call it a day with your old hardware and upgrade. I don't regret it! We've stopped losing clients due to outages, so I'm very pleased. I've also asked Dane to come to my company to help with getting our office PCs updated and ready to meet HIPAA compliance standards and he even took care of sending out my personal Macbook for me when the screen stopped working. All I had to do was drop it off and he delivered it to my office after it was repaired! Dane works closely with my own, budding IT guy to give him guidance where needed and checks up on our servers regularly to make sure it's kept up-to-date and working. He even added in some kind of file or something that will give us protection against the dreaded ransomware virus. He's always friendly, personable, explains things at a level where I can understand them, doesn't waste my time, and tries to do his best to get us the exact equipment to meet our needs (instead of one of those guys who encourages you to overspend on things you don't need!). I've gotten my glass replaced on the IPhone 13 Pro Max here twice now (front and back glass). They threw in a screen protector on my phone during my service without an additional cost. I also wanted to replace my battery two years ago but Gilbert advised that the health wasn't that low for it to make much difference. Fast forward to my phone dying at 20% out of nowhere and he replaced it. Now it's a 4yr old phone operating with 100% battery health. Really respect his honesty at the initial time I wanted to replace it and telling me to hold off, saving my bucks until it was actually necessary.

I highly recommend Mac Expert for all your computer needs! I have used this service on numerous occasions and am always very pleased with the results. The owner and chief technician, Rogier, is a very knowledgeable and professional technician who was formerly a manager of a genius bar at an Apple store. As such, he has a lot of experience with Mac diagnostics and troubleshooting, much more than other technicians I have used in the past. He even carries specialized tools and equipment that allow him to work on the internal parts and mechanisms of the computer if necessary, thereby saving you a trip to the Apple store and a long wait for your repair. Overall, I can't say enough good things about Rogier and his work, and would urge anyone with a Mac issue to give him a call! read more

For most of our issues, he can support us remotely making it very efficient for all. I have yet to come across a problem that he can't solve. When took my computer to his shop he spent all the time I needed to feel confident about leaving there. He also spent extra time looking for parts that he could get at the best price. I'm an Emmy nominated screenwriter and have had a home office in various cities throughout the country and abroad. Rogier is THE most knowledgable, efficient, intuitive, patient (especially with English majors like me), and amusing computer/IT maven I've ever encountered. That he's here in Santa Barbara is a local miracle. Rogier was so helpful and has so much knowledge in technology. I recently had my data breached. As a result of that I had to change my phone number and email. Which is not only nerve wrecking, stressful and overwhelming. He made the painful process of guiding me step by step on how to protect your iPhone/ Mac by adding extra security. This is the 3rd time I have used Rogier Williams / Mac Expert /. I had issues updating my new iPhone 12 pro, I also could not update to Big Sur on my Mac Book Pro. In 20 minutes Rogier found I needed a larger iCloud data plan for the iPhone 12. My Mac book fell in a range of laptops that were now out of date for the new OS. I originally had Rogier come over to assess my security needs, the conversation quickly went to my internet dropping, to my Mac Mini needing more Ram... and then to computer optimization and reconfiguring. I would totally trust Rogier, he is timely, honest, fair and expedient. He has superb diagnostic skills and able to quickly address the root cause of a problem. Mac Expert Rogier Williams is an extraordinary help to us. You see I'm not a convert and use Droids and PC based software for all of my dealings. We had a broken computer screen on a Lenovo Yoga 910. I brought it in and Shain said he could fix it. Everything was fine but he did ask me if he could have the login info to set things up with the new screen. This was the first warning sign I should have heeded. He completed the repair and it worked. Here's where the part comes in that shows the lack of integrity and respect for people's privacy he has. We noticed he was logged in on to one of my wife's accounts she didn't use. We dug in further to discover he had left 5 star reviews for himself on Google, Yelp, and anything else he could log into. I couldn't believe it and that's the reason he wanted our password. NEVER give him a password to your computer account Finally, the repairs were conducted in a sloppy way, which left parts hanging off the screen. Additionally, the screen was installed proud and the computer couldn't fully close. I sure hope he's not doing this anymore, and I caution anyone against having their privacy invaded.

My laptop took a whopping 240-watt power supply. I called the local Best Buy and had no luck. Since it was a specialty cord, I decided I needed consultation from local tech shops hoping maybe they had something laying around they could sell to me. Problem was it was a Sunday afternoon on a holiday weekend. I must've called a dozen computer repair tech shop before I finally reached Matt at Super PC. Matt was surprised to hear my laptop needed such a large power supply, he asked for my laptop specs to verify it took 240-watt himself. He was super knowledgeable and empathetic to my situation. He asked for my number and told me he'll check around. As promised, he called me and said he found my cord at a store south of his location in Goleta. He even offered to ride his motorcycle to pick up the cord and deliver to the wedding for a great rate. Wow! I've never experienced such excellent customer service than what Matt provided. Seriously, my hero that weekend! Thank you, Matt! Highly recommended!
