If I could give 0 stars I actually would. My husband and I spent $50 to get food poisoning. When we arrived we were excited to try the sushi and began grabbing plates off the conveyor belt. We soon realized all the fish was very warm as it had been sitting out. We grew very concerned when we saw the same sushi circling and circling the entire time we were there. To our knowledge, there is no time monitoring going on here; there's no telling how long rolls are sitting out on the belt. After consuming 15 small plates, only ONE roll was fresh and cold. Honestly I love this place. I have probably gone 4 or 5 times and it is my go to place when I want sushi. The prices are really good with it being $3 - $4 a plate and getting around 4 pieces on each. The rolls are pretty big as well, not little servings that feel like a scam. I recommend this place to anyone. They even have covers over the plates so you know its not getting breathed on as it goes around. The waiters are super nice, attentive and friendly and you feel like a priority the second you walk in. I honestly have nothing bad to day about this place because you can tell that the chefs love what they are doing, and the people that run it care. They even have a normal menu you can order off of if you or your partner doesn't like fish. My wife gets the teriyaki sesame bowl which is around $9. its pretty big and I end up having to help her finish it. read more

This location has disappointed me over and over again. The pros of this place was that they were cheap and convenient. This is not the case anymore as they have placed mandatory orders via their website for take out (which is very difficult to find online and through google). I called them on a regular dinner night and asked for an order. I was simply going to order 2 rolls togo for quick pick up. They told me I had to order online. When I went online, prices were more expensive and also required me to make an account. My question about their business model, why do you create so many loop holes for your customers to give you money? I am done with this store. I suggest you do as well. Just sharing a quick update. I still rate this place 4 stars because of how convenient and cheap it can be. After having a lot of sushi at a lot of different sushi joints I have definitely realized that the quality of fish here is well below average (if you want a littler higher quality go right across the street to Sakana or Yanagi in Gilbert). However I still find myself coming back here once in a while when I don't want to spend much money and need to cure a sushi craving fast. I also learned that you can order directly from your "server" if they don't have what you want on the belt. So I'm annoying and will order like 4 orders of salmon nigiri and that makes me a happy lady! :) read more

I had 2 dishes only, salmon and crab meat sushi then pot stickers then suddenly got very light headed and started sweating profusely. It appears that I briefly passed out because I had staff and patrons shaking me - felt violently ill, went to the bathroom to evacuate something only to have a staff member call from the door asking me to leave because of 'liability'. Managed to get home in time to violently throw up so classic food poisoning. Doing something like that just adds insult to injury - avoid! read more

We have been coming to Teharu for around 5 years. We now like this location better, its cleaner. The haru sushi is fantastic, be sure to try the iced green tea and the haru hand rolls are also amazing. Service is spotty, sometimes good, but at this location seems understaffed at times. Both of the other locations are never inviting, never have food out and act like your an inconvenience just walking in as a customer. Not sure how I should start this review. I have been here plenty of times because it's very close to my house and the price is cheap but the quality of food and service is a hit or miss. I keep returning even though it's not the greatest sometimes because of the concept. I just love how you can eat a variety of rolls at one sitting. Sure I can go to better sushi restaurant and pay 10+ for a roll but then I am full after a roll or two so I won't be able to eat a variety of flavors. I don't know about you guys but I'm Asian and HATE wasting food so there's my dilemma. And hence why I keep coming back here. Some days I come and the sushi is on point. Some days I come and wonder if it's even sushi they are serving. I am not going to even talk about the service because most of the time it's non-existent. I've gone here 3 times now hoping that each time would be better than the last but unfortunately that wasn't the case. The sushi is OK, they don't really put out much nigiri on the sushi belt so you have to order it individually, though I will say they do give you more fish than rice which is nice. The rolls however I haven't been too impressed with and have been tasting a little too fishy.. Servers are pretty attentive. I am told at the restaurant that they can only take orders online. But I said, "I am already here and the website would not take a card." Girl working there basically said I was out of luck. If you order soda or iced green tea, it tastes extremely watered down. Some of the dishes have been sitting there to the point that the avocado in some of them turns brownish. I have been to many revolving sushi places. The only redeeming quality of this restaurant are the cheap prices. Seriously thing place is cheap, and you get what you pay for ... maybe slightly less. You only really like this place if you have little experience with higher quality revolving sushi places. The rolls were often malformed or small. For example we found a few examples of Las Vegas rolls where they failed to make a complete roll. It was a C stuffed with stuff; and they expected it to hold together? Salmon Nigiri where the salmon was slightly warm. Some of the rolls were anemic compared to other revolving sushi places. If you thought this was the norm for these places you should visit Seksun Sushi or Sushi Station in Scottsdale. Sure you pay slightly more; but if good sushi is what you want then it's worth it. The malformed, anemic, and not so fresh Sushi was only part of the story. The service was also terrible. I asked for a menu and was ignored. Yes she acknowledged a menu. It just never came. When it was time to leave it took 20 minutes to be recognized so we could ask for the bill and another 10 after she gave us the bill to pick up our card. Yes we left a very low tip. I was in the area so I finally decided to check this place out. I was immediately greeted by 2 ladies and sat right away. I came in around 4:30 PM so, there were only a few customers; but as I was dining several other tables came in. I ordered 2 salmon skin hand rolls and they looked great with lots of salmon skin, carrots and masago (fish eggs). However, the salmon skin was over cooked and very chewy vs. being crispy as they should be (at least what I am use to). The other rolls I tried were ok, the salmon marinated in a sauce was and tako (octopus) was good. The plate prices are posted Yellow $1.50, Green $2.00 & White $3.00, so it's moderately priced. I wanted to try a sushi place that has a revolving options of sushi! So I look it up on Yelp! They do have a few in Mesa, Scottsdale and Tempe. So this place came up and I took my family to check it out. Not bad...there's so many options but a bit limited. Maybe because we were there late, basically an hour before it closes? So there are different prices on the plate you select, for example the plate ranges between $1.50 to $3.00. At the end of the meal, they tally your bill based on how many color-coded plates you've stacked up. Amazingly, you can eat a lot for very little money! Came in today to try this place. There were no services at all. My boyfriend and I sat down and have to ask for a menu because they didn't give us one. Tried ordering items off the menu and they claim they don't have anything on there. Apparently they ran out of everything. Got only 2 out of the 6 items we ordered. When I ordered a different type of roll, they said it will be take a very long time to make. Ordered a calamari and the guy didn't put in our order, so it never came out. Oh Teharu, I've been here enough times with my classmates to write a decent review. To start off, I never eat at revolving sushi places when I was in Cali because of the quality. However, due to the lack of options in Mesa and the convenience of Teharu, I've been here more often than I'd like to admit (A girl got cravings okay?) Parking: not bad, never had trouble looking for parking. Service: decent, they only have about 2 maybe 3 waitresses at a time. During lunch/dinner rush, service is pretty slow. It's hard to wave them down for a special order roll or refill of water. There is never a wait. So us students can just storm in, grab 1/2 of the food from the belt and clean them out, and come back for class in time. The FISH: + Prices are fair + Salmon is pretty consistent, I definitely recommend any salmon items + Seaweed salad is always on point + Tamago is yum + HAND ROLLS are a must: spicy tuna or salmon handroll. It can be a hit or miss depending on who's rolling them. But we usually get A LOT of fish in each massive hand roll for $3 each. +White fish/ white tuna is usually good +Vegas roll is pretty decent -Squids are awful -Tuna is chewy, not really fresh -Fish quality overall is not consistent and more often than not, it's not as fresh as I prefer. BUT, Teharu is so convenient and fairly cheap. I will probably find myself here every once in a while to satisfy my fish cravings. read more

I used to go to the Chandler location a lot but after a while I stopped going... the quality seemed to go don't at that location... but I was still excited to try this new location. For some reason, everytime I go there, the place is empty... but that's not necessarily a bad thing (less wait time yassssss) Love the fact that I can try different types of rolls but not have to eat 8 pieces of it...and its really fun watching the sushi move a long the belt My faves include the Vegas Roll, "boobie roll" not sure what it is called for real lol but it's the one with the red dot, And the Rainbow roll! Yummy!! You can order more specialized stuff on the menu but may not be on the belt. For dessert there's random cheesecakes and cream puffs that go around and other drinks as well ( I personalky focus onthe sushi) Anyways... Prices are pretty affordable from 1-2 dollars per plate... I have loved and adored the location on Priest and Ray for years but having moved in recent years and being busy with life I hadn't been to any Teharu in ages. For that reason I didn't know that the kitchen closes at 9:30 pm and figured that with a 10:30 pm close time I'd be alright. I'm MORE than upset that my friends and I were just sat down without being told that whatever is out was it for the night. I feel like we seriously wasted our time, got a tiny taste of sushi without being able to have a meal AND I'm seriously angry that when these concerns were voiced they chose to do absolutely nothing about it (couldn't even take the half drank sodas off the bill). All that says to me is that they'd rather customers walk out pissed over their mistake than do anything about it. Moral of the story: Be there before 9 pm or don't go at all.
