Definitely nothing to turn your nose up at. All the guys at the office have had positive things to say about the little bottles I brought them, and my roommate quite liked the small batch. The Teeling Whiskey Distillery tour is a fun way to spend a couple of hours. If you've never been on a distillery tour it's definitely something entertaining and educational to do. However, I've been to a bunch so it was just on par with others. The cool thing is that they are the only whisky distillery located in Dublin so they are much smaller than the big boys like Jameson. Of course my favourite part of the tour was the tasting. Sniff, sip to the middle of your tongue, swallow and exhale was the routine. I don't have a great palate but by using the routine as suggested I could definitely taste a distinct difference between the three types of whiskey that we were poured. I was going to buy some of the whiskey at the gift shop at the end of the tour but it was recommended that I purchase at the duty-free at the airport as it should be 22% cheaper. read more

The distillery is an actual working distillery and you get to go through each phase of the whisky making. The tour group was small and the tour guide knew a lot about the distillery and the history behind whisky production. At the end of the tour, you will sit for a tasting. The tasting will depend on which tour you paid for. So, all the tours are the same except at the end. If you get the cheapest, you'll get to taste one cocktail and one whisky. They also have a bar where you can taste more if you like. Do yourself a favor and order the Irish coffee. Even if you don't like coffee, like myself, you will think this one is amazing. The gift shop has a little bit of everything in many different price ranges. read more

Also... there aren't many places open to eat early on the weekends. It's a short walk from St. Patrick's cathedral, and New market is absolutely adorable. A young distillery - built in 2015 with a minimum of 3 years of barrel aging before sale as a whiskey by law (often longer in practice), none of the whiskeys distilled here are what you are finding at your local market. Those bottles come from the Teeling family's reserve of barrels from spirit distilled elsewhere. I took the last tour of the day with the select tasting. The tour was a bit sparse on details but I'll admit I've done a number of distillery tours throughout Kentucky and Scotland. The tour ended in a tasting room that was contiguous with the bar and shop - multiple tours doing tastings, your own tour guide bouncing between people in your group that booked different tiers of tasting, etc. It was a bit loud, chaotic, and again sparse on details. If you are familiar with whiskey distillation, I'd skip the tour and hit the bar. Teeling has a lovely 24 year available at 30 euro per dram and a tiki bar upstairs. read more

This review is for the Phoenix cafe on the ground floor. While waiting for the distillery tour, bf and I had lunch here. The choice was rather limited, I got steak pie and he got ham and cheese sandwich. The steak pie was very tasty!! And so is the ham and cheese. The ham in Ireland is different from those in North America, usually it's thicker cut and with a little bit of fat attached to it (yummmmm!!!). We wanted to get whisky ice cream but unfortunately the freezer was broken so they refused to sell us those inside the broken freezer. I thought I could get that teeling whisky mustard in the gift shop but I didn't see it. read more

We had this on our list of places to visit but as we were only in Dublin for the weekend, we almost decided not to go, but I'm very glad we did! It ended up being one of my favorite things we did while in Dublin. The tour is excellent; very friendly and knowledgeable. Not only did our guide go over how they make their whiskey and their history, but he also gave us a bit of the history of Dublin and whiskey so it was very interesting. At the end of the tour is the tasting. There are various kinds of tasting you can do; J and I not being whiskey connoisseurs by any means chose the most basic one where tried some whiskeys they made but also a whiskey cocktail; it was delicious!! We took a picture of the recipe so we can make it at home. After the tasting, we spent a lot of time in the gift shop looking for whiskeys to bring back to the States. We purchased two bottles and the recipients were very pleased. There is a small bar where you can drink but we had stopped by at the end of the day (we were part of the last tour) so w did not get to hang out at the bar. Once you learn a bit about the history of spirit production in Ireland, you begin to contextualize this particular company within the landscape of Dublin whiskey production. It is nice that you can tour most of the distillery in a rather hands-on way. The sights and smells you witness on your tour are those of actual whiskey being produced in Dublin. The facilities are really quite beautiful in a modern sense; the place has only been open since 2015. I fell in love with Teeling Distillery after a waitress at the Bank of College Green recommended it. The Irish Whiskey was so smooth and delightful. When she mentioned it was distilled in Dublin, I knew if I had the chance I needed to visit. The tour is a little pricey for what you get and if you have toured the Jameson Distillery you will already know how Irish whiskey is made. This is a new facility and the tour is a guided tour that is informative of the building of the distillery and the process. What makes this tour worth it is you actually get to see the equipment they use and Irish Whiskey being made. I was deeply disappointed to learn that the Teeling Whiskey I had been enjoying had not actually came from the Dublin location. The feeling of being mislead left me with a bad vibe. The whiskey being made in Dublin won't be ready for another 5 Years. The whiskey they are selling came from another distillery the family owned and sold. The whiskey from that distillery is in warehouses that is being aged. That is what they are selling currently. The sample is a very small sample. This does give you a good idea of the spirits. The tour is a very good tour if you have time and want to see an actual working distillery. read more

I had never heard of Teeling Whiskey before my visit to the distillery but they were hosting a birthday event to celebrate Teeling's 2nd birthday so we thought--why not check the place out? On the day of the event we got to try home made marshmallows made with Teeling whiskey as well as caramel popcorn made with Teeling whiskey. They were also offering cupcakes and brownies that were made specifically for the celebration. The tour started off with a video and then a really cool tour of the facilities. At the end of the tour we got to try our tastings. I'm allergic to alcohol so I was treated with a nice mocktail. It was delicious. They have a little store selling big and small bottles of the whiskey along with other things like food, t-shirts, books, etc. I ended up buy a few bottles because I thought it was cool they use different types of barrels to give their whiskey a different taste. Unless you have a Binny's in your city, you won't be able to find this stuff in the states. Stop by and pick some up! read more

Right from the start of the tour Marc made us comfortable ! So knowable! Not only did we get a history of whiskey making but of Dublin as well ! Marc was great at explaining the proper way to drink whiskey . Not being a whiskey drinker I was very nervous , but in the end he converted this girl ! The Teeling brothers took the proud heritage of the family to a new start and what can I say, they did well.. The building is new as well as the production utensils, but they kept the traditional way of making the eau de view. Have a coffee break in the downstairs café and take one of several tours. The exposition tells stories about whisky in Dublin, your guide tells you how to Whisky is made. This tiny facility produces a lot of good water of life. The whisky tasting is big fun and you can get more at the bar or buy some souvenirs. From my personal point of view, Teeling is better than Jameson. read more

Want to visit the ONLY operating whiskey distillery in Dublin? That's right, Teeling are the first in over 100 years to have opened a functioning distillery in the city to produce this iconic Irish beverage. Tickets start from 14€, but you can pay a little extra if you want to try more whiskey samples by the end of the tour - so the price doesn't influence the tour itself, only the drinks they'll serve you. I'd definitely recommend getting their pricier tickets if you never had a chance to try their whiskeys before. Located in the historically fitting Liberties, Teeling's renewed brick building gives Newmarket square a fresh more confident look. The whole place is uber sober in terms of image, with white, black and wood tones dominating everything from the interiors to the merchandise. Even the museum is minimalistic with its B&W photos and sparse use of large typography on the walls. The naked interiors may look daunting when you start the tour in a dimly lit ante-room that leads to the distillery itself, but once you go in it all makes sense, because there's so much more to experience in there. The first thing that hits you is the strong distinctive smell of malt. Now, if you grew up near a brewery like I did, it'll probably feel nice and sweet to you, but otherwise it can be a bit unsettling at first. You're then showed around and get to see all the machinery, stills, and even samples of the ingredients or by-products that are involved in the whole distilling process. After you've soaked all that in, and taken as many photos as you please, it's time for a little bit of guided whiskey tasting. As you walk in the spacious and trendy tasting room, you'll find your table already set and waiting for you - isn't that a nice touch! Before you leave you can stop by the gift shop, which sells a small number of merchandise items plus their whiskeys. If you're feeling peckish, stop by the nice café downstairs. GO IF you're in any way curious about whiskey, this is live Dublin history right here and you get to make a lot of questions and maybe even meet some of the makers! They might be a young-ish enterprise, but they care a lot about the traditions associated with their craft. BEST PART for me was just admiring the beautiful copper pot stills, handmade in Italy. SOME IMPROVEMENTS could still be made in terms of signage for the visitors and the delivery of the tour by our guide was also a little bit shaky, but I'm sure they'll get better as time goes by. They do things right here at Teeling! I never thought I'd rate a Whiskey Distillery, let alone so high, considering I don't even like whiskey. But, I do love the Teeling Distillery. I've been here a few times for different events, and I always love stopping by. I will definitely bring people here, it's an essential stop on the Dublin visitors tour! It's a very welcoming spot and definitely doesn't have a "tourists only" feeling. They do tours and all that but there is a cafe and bar and it's a place that's worth stopping by just for a drink (coffee or cocktail!). Staff is very friendly and welcoming, not to mention knowledgable. The tour is actually very interesting, not drawn out and boring, it begins with a time-lapse video of the construction of the building (very cool) and a brief summary of the brand's history, then the tour through the whole process of producing whiskey in the room where it is made, then the tasting. A very generous pour for a tasting, too! The staff give some great tips on how to taste whiskey and it's not at all a pretentious experience. They know their stuff and are very approachable and helpful if you have questions. It's a beautiful space, tasteful and modern. The bar area is fairly small because the majority of the floor is set up for tastings (after the tour) but it's great that they let you stop by just for a drink without having to do the tour. They also have the shop with lots of merchandise. The decor they have up for the holidays is adorable, it's very clever because it's all made of parts from a cask! I love the cocktails here! It's the only way I can enjoy whiskey. I don't think I would have ordered myself a whiskey cocktail, but once I had them at a Yelp Elite event we attended here, I will definitely be back just to sit at the bar and order one (or two). They are very balanced and easy to enjoy, despite how strong whiskey can be. It's very close to where we live so I'm looking forward to trying the cafe sometime soon. Also visited for their first Christmas Craft Fair and was pleasantly surprised! They worked with all kinds of local talent to put together a great afternoon, it took place in their fairly small exhibition area but there were several stalls, everything from honey to black pudding to screen printed tote bags done right there on the spot. Very well organized and presented, lots of free samples, including a tasting of their whiskey. Most stalls had worked together with Teeling to make an exclusive product, the best of which was the Teeling ice cream from Glastry Farms, delicious! There was also Teeling infused jam, christmas pudding and more. It was nice to see Teeling giving small Irish businesses the spotlight, and supporting the local artisanal and handmade community. So we managed to get on the first official public tour of the distillery just after opening - on a Saturday morning at 9:30am! But that made the tour that little bit special too. And we truly enjoyed it. That everything still smells new adds obviously to the experience but wasn't the only reason to enjoy it. After paying (€14, which is around the ususal price for such tours in Dublin), you've time to look through their exhibition of brilliant black & white photos / impressions of Dublin (I definitely loved them!) and memorabilia around whiskey. Once the tour starts you first get an introduction into the history of irish whiskey (note: the extra "e" came in there to show that the irish whiskey is better than the scottish whisky ;-) ) and then enter into the production hall where they explain how the barley becomes eventually whiskey - in this part of the process it stays around 6 days. Obviously as it's a working distillery you get the smell which adds to the experience. In the next part you learn more about the next at least 6 years of the whiskey in barrels to become proper whiskey. This whole first part of the tour takes around 30 minutes - with time to ask questions. And finally you have a tasting of pure whiskey and a whisky cocktail with further explanations. This part takes as long as you like ;-) Last but not least you can have a gander through their shop and get their whiskey, truffles, marinade, drinking jars, caps, shirts and the likes - all very tasteful and nicely displayed. And tasteful presentation is what stuck me during the whole tour. Even though it's rather a tourist attraction it doesn't shout at you. From the beginning to the end a lot of design (down to the smallest detail), thoughts and love went into it and our guide (Niall) was full of passion for the distillery and everything whiskey related - a very worthy and witty ambassador. We didn't take the time to try the cafe but might come back to that as it's accessible without doing the tour as far as I could see - even though I will definitely come back, probably with friends visiting. We decided to do the Teeling Distillery Tour (newly opened on Newmarket, Dublin 8) instead of going out for dinner and I'm very very glad we did! Our tour guide (I'm very sorry I never caught her name!) was excellent. She is clearly enthusiastic about the place, the brand and also very knowledgeable! You're taken through the history of not only the brand but the history of Dublin Whiskey (note the spelling!) and then through the distillation process... In the maturation room you get to see the various stages from mash through to matured whiskey - if you're brave enough you can sample it too!! The highlight of the tour was obviously the tasting. The bar is a great set up. They have your drinks ready for you as you walk through the door. It's lovely and bright and a fab way to enjoy the whiskey! With my €14 ticket I got to try their Small Batch and one of their cocktails - the cocktail on that day was a raspberry iced tea (small batch, asperol, ginger and raspberries) delicious and tart and perfect way to cool down after the tour!! It's only recently opened but if you're anyway into whiskey (or whisky!) you have got to pay a visit to the only operating distillery in Dublin!!! Finished off in the gift shop (where all good tours must end!) and picked up a bottle of Small Batch and two whiskey glasses. I just had to buy their whiskey in a jar :-) read more

Its an informative tour. You really only go in one room after watching a video to discuss the brewing and then another for the tasting. I would have liked to see a little more, but they don't store it there because of the fire risks so I guess we probably saw all we could see. It didn't take very long at all, so if you have a dublin pass and want to hit and run it, you definitely can. The tasting area is really cool looking. Our guide, Charlaine, was super friendly and down to earth which made it even more effective. One thing I learned that was fascinating was why the irish and the scotts spell whiskey differently, if you don't know I won't ruin the surprise. read more
