Galway Bay brewery Full Sail IPA...
    Larry N.

What a great pub! Close to our hotel in the Docklands. An amazing selection of beers, both Local Irish and a few from the US. The staff is amazing and knowledgable. The locals are super friendly, made us feel right at home. If I didn't know better, I would think this was my local brew pub back in Vegas. A must try if you want to try "other" Irish beers while in Dublin. Soo happy we found this pub.

we stayed at an Airbnb nearby and are very glad we found this spot nearby, We were excited to see that Galway carries a ton of beers on tap and we decided to try their: -MILK STOUT 4/5 -PILSNER 3/5 -blonde ale 5/5 (can't remember the name) To eat we got: -Fried Chicken 5/5 -Beer Braised short Rib Philly Cheese Sandwich 6/5 (yes 6 out of 5) -Burger 4/5 -Double fried Chips 5/5 (had these as leftovers and they still tasted amazing!) The ambiance was perfect for what we needed. It was a Sunday night and we were really happy they were open, there was only like 3 people at the bar and another table taken. Not sure if there was anyone upstairs but we enjoyed being able to talk amongst ourselves. STAFF- was great, very attentive and on top of their beer knowledge which helped us decide between a few beers. definitely a great welcoming spot for our first night out in DUBLIN!

Nom nom - simple, good, honest food!

After several great experiences in The Black Sheep, we decided to give their sister pub a go. To be honest, the first impression is not great - the barman seemed rather brash for a craft beer gastropub but friendly enough. It also didn't have the homely atmosphere which The Black Sheep has - perhaps due to the split level setup. The food more than made up for it - we shared a steak burger and fish and chips... both were excellent and portions were so big we didn't need dinner after! We also enjoyed several pints - Metalman, Galway Hooker, Sierra Nevada and Crew Summer Beer while spending a lazy afternoon playing board games. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area :)

They only recently opened, it was pretty dead on the Saturday night. A few locals stopped by only to leave again. It's gentrified now. It's a craft pub and has a good selection of beers as you would expect, the bouncer at the door told me, "Now they don't serve Guinness in there." Even he seemed wary of how it would fly in this spot. I hope it does and I'm sure it will be busy during the week with it's target market from the IFSC. There is just something cold and empty about it that I can't put my finger on, maybe it's the colour scheme. I definitely want to check out the food. It is a nice to see the Luas pass by outside.

Decent pint of porter from O'Haras.

I was here for dinner and a pint after work. The staff are very friendly, and willing to chat about the various beers. Beers....well they have a fantastic selection. My current favourite is the Dark Arts Porter by Trouble Brewing, it is superb. The food was good, I had the pork chops, and my wife had the tandoori chicken burger. The chips are awesome (if you like em chunky!). Only downside was the portions are kinda small...... Inside is very well decorated, much nicer than the sister pub Against the Grain. We should support these pubs, there are several around Dublin. 1 group consisting of The Brew Dock, Against the Grain and The Black Sheep, the other group consisting of L Mulligans Grocer and Kavanaghs on Dorset street. These craft pubs support Irish producers of craft beer.

Smoked beer - liquid bacon!!! This is a great place to go for any beer lover. The owner treats it almost like a temple for the godly brew. Drop in for a few tasters on what they have on tap or try one of the many selections they have on offer as well. It is also a great place for pub-food. They have a great plater for sharing, so do bring some friends for a few hours of great beer and nom-noms.

Having just written a rather large review on my blog, I'm not about to re-hash it in to yelp. Needless to say that I do rather like the Brew Dock. Their range of beers are extensive with about 100 available, 21 taps and a cask hand pump or two. The lack of TV and low volume music is a plus for me. Unless rugby is on in which case I would have to go elsewhere. [ignore this part] The menu is where it falls down, it just seems to lack anything interesting. The BBQ platter was the most appetising item to me so that's what I had. Still I do love the beer and it's a great place to chat. Hopefully it will pick up. They need more people to liven the place up a bit and give it a bit of wear and tear as it's still too new feeling inside. **update** Since my initial review the place has improved immensely and I might prefer it to against the grain or black sheep. The food is now varied and excellent, the beer choice is even better than previous and the place now has a nice relaxed atmosphere of its own.

Galway Bay Brewery bar near Connolly Station. Decent selection of craft beers and cider. Haven't eaten here at all but I believe the food is pretty good

The brew dog. What a quality spot. A beer cave to explore. The extremely friendly staff take the care and time with each and every thirsty customer to ensure their taste and beer buds are met. The food is filling and exactly what you'll be looking for while drinking your new favourite beer! ( please get sweet potato chips back ) Waste the day/night away passing janga under candle light! I love this place. It's exactly what I want in a bar. World class service with quality beer. ( please also, get more tap 6 and bring in Wicklow wolf ) Keep up the great service. Well done.

Excellent selection. If you love craft beer I highly recommend stopping in. They have about 24 or so taps plus bottles. Great selection of local craft beer.

I came here last weekend as a first time solo traveler. I sat at the bar and had a great time drinking and chatting with the bartenders and manager. Everyone was beyond friendly, and even gave me some great recommendations to do in Dublin. I just even made friends with other patrons that sat at the bar as well. The atmosphere is excellent. They have board games and such which would be fun if you brought a group of friends. I also got the fish and chips as recommended by my waitress, they were very tasty.

Tucked down Dame Court just off Dame Street, The Stag's Head is one of those rare pubs that feels genuinely historic rather than designed to look old. The building dates to the late 1800s, and the interior retains the ornate features of a classic Victorian "gin palace"--rich carved wood, stained glass, brass rails, and a warm, glowing bar that feels wonderfully preserved. We stopped in around 4:30 pm, which turned out to be a perfect time to visit. There were other patrons enjoying drinks and food, but the atmosphere was calm and relaxed rather than loud or rowdy. It felt like the kind of place where locals drop in for a quiet pint on their way home from work before the evening crowd arrives. The staff were excellent--friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good (we failed to take photos because we were too busy enjoying it). As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to see the Impossible burger front and center on their menu; it was deliciously prepared with guacamole on a brioche bun, and not an afterthought on the menu. My companions both chose the Irish Beef Burger, and said it was excellent. One thing to know: this is a traditional Victorian pub, so cocktails aren't really part of the program. Expect beer, wine, or spirits rather than mixed drinks. In a place like this, that actually feels exactly right. Other pubs do serve mixed drinks. Between the history, the ambience, the quality of the food, and the wonderful staff, The Stag's Head is the kind of place that makes you feel like you've experienced a real piece of Dublin.

My girlfriend and I were itching to explore the pub scene or any scene for that matter! We decided to layer up and go for a walk...in 32 degree weather and a foot of snow. Hey we're Floridians, we were up for some change! Lo and behold, we look up at the pub around the corner from our Airbnb, and the doors are open. We see Dubliners out front smoking cigarettes, joshing around, happy to be out in the world. We nearly sprinted into The Back Page, which is a fantastic name for a pub by the way. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Customers were relaxed, the bartenders were chipper, and there was lots of wiggle room to sit or stand throughout the two story venue. Local beers and local whiskies filled the menu, and the prices were very reasonable. Attached to the bar is a pizza joint, I assume they are under the same ownership. We ordered the Sonia O'Sullivan pie and Bruschetta and both were excellent. Having Italy on the horizon in just a matter of days, we were not expecting 5 star pizza in Dublin. To our surprise, the texture and overall flavor of the pie were absolutely phenomenal. Full of life, cheerfulness, and exuberance at The Back Page. Recommend to anyone!
