Chicken Curry
Dani C.

The fall season is here, and nothing like a Thai yellow curry to go with this weather. This is one of my favorite dishes from Tee Rak. The drinks are just perfect, and the service is always top tier! Today was my first time seating outside on the patio, and it just gives me the feeling of a city life. This place is also very cute and cozy!

I wish I got a better picture of the delicious food I got! We came on a busy night and couldn't get a seat. I'm pretty sure it was a week night but that just shows how great the food is here. we decided to get an order to go and not wait for a table. The portions were so big and everything tasted delicious. I got at least three meals out of my dish. I will be coming back here!

Went to Tee Rak since I was craving Thai food and found out this place is not too far from me. Upon walking in, the place was crowded with people sitting at the tables and this was definitely a good sign for me that the food was gonna be really good. I was immediately sat down at the bar and given a menu by the bartender. I decided to order the cashew nut chicken and it was fantastic! The vegetables, as expected, were fresh and crisp and the meat was cooked so well. I really enjoyed my meal and had enough food for a separate meal.

When they say don't judge a book by its cover, this place comes to mind. First impression ok dining room ok a few tables outside nice decor. The menu is wide open with numerous choices making it even harder to decide. The staff is friendly and attentive and the noise level good. The food is fresh prepared and served with a smile, the pot stickers excellent and the drunken noodles with shrimp a masterpiece. They also have a full bar with a unique set of house specialties which should keep you busy. Don't let the location and looks fool you this place is a Thai food oasis

Khao Soi

Wow, where to start! If you want authentic Thai food, this is the spot! Khao Soi is one of my favorites, and theirs is amazing. The flavor is so good, my boyfriend and I shared this and an app! Cocktails are delish, and fun. And the service is so wonderful, they will take the time to explain anything to you. Maybe make a reservation, it isn't huge inside. But fun ambiance, and the outdoor patio is wonderful on a gorgeous evening!

Went for their lunch combo deal! It was a lot of food, so it was a good deal. We first got thai teas, which were a bit sweet for me, but taste was nice. Then, we got spring rolls for an appetizer - they were crunchy and yummy and the sauce paired it well! Last, we got our entrees: chicken yellow curry and pad thai. These were very large portions!! The yellow curry was savory and the vegetables were perfectly soft - it was a bit more watery than I'm used to but that didn't influence the taste. The pad thai was also good, but I heard I should try the drunken noodles next time, for a bit more kick of flavor. We did wait a bit longer than usual for our entrees to come out, but service was super friendly and attentive.

I had takeout with a friend. I had the papaya salad and the veg fried rice. The food was good, not great or any different from upscale Asian foods you can find in St. Louis. I would go back to eat in or get takeout. The parking is good, the restaurant is small and noisy. People are having a good time Seemingly, the staff was great.

Wow, TeeRak Thai Restaurant is the real deal. I just tried this restaurant yesterday and already anticipating going back. The food was packed with bold, vibrant flavors. I ordered the khao soi and it was phenomenal. I loved the combination of soft noodles in the soup, crunchy noodles on top, tangy acidity in the broth, perfectly balanced spice level, and the crunchy pickled mustard greens. I only wish they put this dish in a bigger bowl because I felt like I had to be extremely careful digging into it; otherwise I might spill or drop something. My friend got the Massaman curry and a cup of tom kha, and both were just as rich, comforting, and delicious. We also each got a Thai tea, and it was the perfect amount of sweetness without being overly sugary. I think this might be my new favorite Thai restaurant in St. Louis. I highly recommend if you're craving authentic Thai food. I will surely be back to try more items on the menu!

Really enjoyed our away from home Birthday meal for my hubby. He got the Cry Tigar salad and I got the Drunken noodles. The entrees are the winners. Appetizers were not very impressive. The local beer selection was awesome. Really likes the Banana Hefeweizen. Next door is a wine shop. Picked out a 6 pack of beer and ciders to go. Tip top day! Thank you!!

Stopped by TeeRak for lunch and honestly really enjoyed it. We ordered chicken satay, moo ping, som tum, tom yum, tom kha, pad thai with chicken, and gaeng hung lay. Everything tasted fresh and had good balance -- nothing overly sweet or heavy like some Thai places can be. The gaeng hung lay was probably my favorite. Really rich flavor and the pork was super tender. Not something you see everywhere and definitely worth trying. Som tum was crisp and bright with a nice lime kick. Chicken satay was juicy and the peanut sauce was thick and flavorful. Moo ping had a nice grilled flavor and was simple but really good. Both soups were solid -- tom kha creamy and comforting, tom yum more tangy and herbal. Pad thai was good too -- noodles had a nice texture and it wasn't overly saucy. The space is casual and comfortable, and there's a cool elephant mural on the wall that gives the place some personality. Overall just a really solid Thai spot. I'd come back, especially for the hung lay and papaya salad.

Drunken noodles with pork

They have indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside. I tried the spring rolls, sticky rice, drunken noodles with pork and a drink (but I don't remember which one) Everything was really good, the drink was a little sweeter than I would've liked it to be but still good. Our server was really nice. We requested if one of the soups could be made a lot milder because my aunt couldn't handle the spice level (I guess she didn't realize it was a spicy soup) and they did it with no problem. Will definitely be back!

Pad See Ew with Tofu
Christina Z.

The hostess and server were very kind and helpful when we arrived, and we loved the vibrant decor inside. The umbrellas were a nice touch! We both got noodle dishes: the drunken noodles and the pad see ew. The drunken noodles had a good amount of garlic and flavor. The spice level two wasn't too much for us and added a nice balance with the sweet and garlicky sauce. I usually order the pad see ew whenever I get Thai so I was surprised that there wasn't that much broccoli in the dish. I think more would've helped break up the texture and diversify bites. We'll definitely be back!

Tee Rak Thai is the story you love to see. Starting at the farmers market and growing into a storefront. The drunken noodles with shrimp are a must. So much flavor and comforting. Somehow, it's impossible to stop eating even when you're already full. It still has that small business charm. Great outdoor and indoor seating!

Everything flowed smoothly from start to finish thanks to our server and her team. The khao soi is a must. It's easily one of my favorite versions in St. Louis. It's one of their most popular dishes for good reason, and it was one of the first plates to disappear. The pad see ew was good but lacked a little for me. Tip: go for spice level four. We ordered everything at level three, and it leaned on the milder side. We also tried the tom yum soup with seafood, which was solid, just not my personal favorite. I overheard they were increasing the kitchen size so maybe that is what they need, I have been in when it was busy in the dining room before but the amount of people coming in for takeout was crazy! The Miso soup was really good; I love soup even on a hot day! It had pieces of seaweed and cubes of tofu, and the flavor was deep and full of umami. The drunken noodle dish is always good; I love the veggies in it so much I am thinking when I go back I might skip the chicken altogether! Can't wait to see what the renovations bring!

They had 2 wait staff working when we went and both greeted us immediately and seated us inside. Their air conditioning was broken and awaiting repair and they had signs throughout explaining that. It was still cooler inside than out so we sat inside. I was curious what a butterfly lemonade was so I ordered one. It was good and quite refreshing with traditional lemonade at the bottom topped with a vibrant deep purple concoction on top. After I educated myself, I found that the deep purple concoction is steeped tea made from butterfly pea flowers. We started with some egg rolls - fried with ground pork and vegetables and served with sweet and sour sauce. The sauce was great! I normally pass as most of them have a cloyingly sweet flavor that I don't like but theirs had a really good balance of flavors amd not too sweet. The egg rolls were flavorful enough to stand on their own though and yes, delivered piping hot to the table. I had the drunken noodles with beef at medium spicy level. At first bite, I was immediately able to taste the spicy level I chose. A great sign. Then I sniffed and started sweating. Another great sign of good spice level. My husband ordered the yellow curry with tofu and medium spice level as well. At first he said it could be hotter but then midway through he decided it was more of a build up and thought the level was actually perfect. Serving size was great. An amazing, authentic spot to experience Thai cuisine!…read more Everything was on point here - the food, service, atmosphere, and even the music. Every part of the experience deserves its own shoutout! My husband and I ordered two Tom Yum soups with tofu, steamed dumplings, drunken noodles with beef, and the mango sticky rice with coconut syrup for dessert. First of all, even if you LOVE spicy food (and my husband and I eat spicy food all the time), do NOT take a chance and order the spicy level! We got medium, and we were literally crying. Even for us, it was way too spicy. If you don't normally eat spicy food, I would honestly be careful even with mild. That being said, the dishes were incredibly flavorful. This isn't the kind of spicy food where all you can taste is heat. The flavors were rich, complex, and the portions were filling. The portion sizes were actually perfect for trying several different dishes without completely stuffing yourself, which happens so often at American restaurants. You come here for the atmosphere and the flavors, not giant portions. And you absolutely HAVE to try the dessert! The mango sticky rice was so soft and delicious, with sweet coconut syrup and pieces of coconut. One bite and I felt like I was back in Asia. There was calm, relaxing music playing in the background, and our server checked on us when needed without being overly attentive or constantly interrupting us. Exactly the kind of service I appreciate. The only tricky part is parking. There isn't really parking right next to the restaurant, so we parked at a nearby hotel and walked over. Overall, I absolutely recommend this place if if you want authentic Thai food and a great atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

I left my car at the hotel, so I'm not sure where the closest available parking is. Don't count on finding a spot right in front. I loved the atmosphere inside. Romantic, thoughtful details, and quiet bossa nova music playing in the background. Even the volume and sound felt just right. I could see this place working for a date, dinner with friends or a business meeting. Our server explained everything clearly and was there when needed, without constantly interrupting. I ordered Tom Yum with mild spice and at first thought I'd made a mistake, it was pretty spicy! But once it cooled down a little, it was exactly the soup I'd been craving. Then came the steamed dumplings with sauce, and they were even better. I finished with mango sticky rice, which left me so full that only a cup of strong black tea could get me moving again. Really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Thanks to the team for a lovely dinner. I'd love to come back.

The service was attentive and friendly. I needed a phone charge at the staff was kind enough to plug my phone at the counter and keep an eye on it. The food was a different twist on what we expected. We sampled their Thai Stix, which relate to a crab Rangoon, but the nicely melted cream cheese is flavored with kankimama and scallions. They are a bit messy, but worth it. Their Hoy Jaw are deep fried dumplings of shrimp, crab and mixed pork, deep fried with a crunchy texture. Both of these small plates come with a bright sweet chili sauce. The chicken satay were tender, moist and came with a peanut sauce that was the perfect blend between almost peanut butter and being too runny. For me, the best part of the meal was the Hung Lay Curry. The dish combines pork belly and pork shoulder, perfect cooked and tender in a curry that includes palm sugar, turmeric, peanuts, and fresh ginger. The curry is not dominated by curry powder, and has a rich, satisfying flavor that can be compared to a rich ramen broth. Spoon the sauce over the rice to let the flavors soak in. For those who think curry is spicy, this dish is not. Instead, it has the comfort food vibe that is a unique for me in eating Thai food. I clarified it was the chili, and he left, then came back again to tell me they actually couldn't remove it since it's mixed into the sauce. So I switched to a different random dish that didn't have chili in the name, hoping that would solve it. Because of the mix up, my food came out a good ten minutes after everyone else's, but by that point I was hungry enough not to care. I ended up with a stir fry with rice on the side which was pretty flavorful and I finished it because I was starving. My friends got the curry and pad thai and both cleaned their plates, so those seemed like good picks too. I loved the hanging plants inside. Overall it was a decent experience, nothing outstanding but nothing bad either, just that repeated confusion over my order that got a little frustrating. Might give it another shot, but it's not high on my list right now.
