Ok first off let's start by saying that THE ACTUAL PHYSICAL WORK they do here is outstanding very talented group of folks. Came in a few weeks ago with a completely shattered iPhone screen, with in thirty minutes I had it back in IMPECCABLE CONDITION And the pricing was great as well. Which is why I'm sad to write the second part of this review smh.. Phone randomly started acting up, so I brought it back to them to see if they could diagnose the issue. I ended up dealing with Tyler (great employee) who said he would see if the phone just needed an update and if that was the only issue it would be NO CHARGE For them to download the new soft ware on the phone. (I confirmed and asked about pricing a few times because I WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT IF NEEDED I CAME OUT OF THE HOUSE WITH THE CORRECT CASH TO PAY FOR THE SERVICES THE NEXT MORNING)I left the phone with them for the night and then went home, but before I left He & I BOTH were pretty sure it was just the software update & no need for PHYSICAL HANDS ON WORK. So I show up this morning to pick up the phone and Tyler hadn't made it to work yet so I dealt with a older, tall white guy with glasses. NASTY ATTITUDE. We greet each other and I tell him which pick-up I am there for. I say "There isn't a charge listed right?" He goes well yea 20 dollars. I bring up the whole Tyler Conversation and he goes "so you don't think you should pay because of that?" And I'm like well yea, this is what I was told and besides I don't have the money on me because I was goin off of what Tyler told me. This dude really goes on to say oh so the real reason you don't want to pay is because you don't have any money?? (The whole time laughing at our conversation while caring for another customer) so I'm like dude the disconnect is not between me and you, this should be between you and Tyler I'm only going off of what he told me, if I had of known there was a fee I would have came overly prepared. These series of questions goes on for 3-4 minutes & I finally get sick of the back and forth and say well look is it going to be a 20 dollar fee or not? He goes on to say he didn't say I had to pay, but he doesn't understand why I feel like I shouldn't have to pay. Like HUH?? (I know your just as confused as I was smfh) at this point I just took my phone and walked out. My plan for the next day was to see if tyler had found something really wrong that needed to be fixed, I then would have left the phone with them AGAIN while I attend work down the street & THEN PAY FOR WHATEVER THEY NEEDED TO FIX. other than extreme cases like this, I normally carry little to no money daily. ten bucks or less for coffees and or food. (Unless I may need to pay for something specific, where I always confirm pay or non payment before hand like stated above.) That guy needs a attitude tune up. This really isn't a Tyler Problem Or a Me Problem. This is him and ignorant ass way he chooses to address customers. Even in the event there was an error in pricing I still didn't deserve to be treated rudely and then have the nerve to try and belittle me IN FRONT OF ANOTHER CUSTOMER SMH. Gunna end up loosing a lot of customers behind him. He's rude & subliminally takes jabs at people that are MORE THAN WILLING TO PAY TO KEEP THE BUSINESS ALIVE. Tragic. read more

Terrible service. I was;ked in with a working iPhone that had a cracked screen. Finger print reader worked fine. After 2 hours ( mind you they said 20 mins) they came out and couldn't tell me why my Touch ID wasn't working and asked to keep my phone so they could figure it out. I told them they obviously broke something which they denied. So now I have a non working phone with a broken screen. I tried to save some money by bringing it to these guys but now I am out time and still have to bring it to Apple for repair. I will be notifying Tech Rescue of any problems they caused by attempting to fix my phone and they will be responsible for any additional charges. TERRIBLE read more

A few weeks ago a friend dropped my phone and shattered the screen. I brought it to Replay'd in Allston and had them replace it. Two days later it completely fell off and damaged all the insides of my phone. I brought it back to Replayed and the owner was a total jerk to me and blamed me for it stating that, "we fixed it and it came off in your hands." After the phone had just a screen flopping around for a few days, it completely stopped working. I brought it to IphoneCurt in Brighton and everybody there were wonderful, respectful and genuine. Did my booty call seriously just spill an entire glass of water on my open laptop....? YEP. Never had that happen before so I shoved in a bag of 10 pounds of rice like its a motorola phone from 2004, kicked the boy out and cried myself to sleep until I brought it to TechRescue the next day. I did the booboos like 1. trying to turn it on and 2. plugging it in. (DON'T DO THIS. YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO.) They didn't judge me which was really nice. Obviously, all experiences are different and maybe you won't be as lucky as me but they were able to fix it as a super reasonable price! They dried it out, replaced the battery, did something else and I think performed some black magic and I paid just over $200. YOU MIGHT HAVE TO PAY MORE DEPENDING ON WHAT YOUR ISSUE IS. I only put this on here to say that I feel I was treated fairly and honestly. I know that your technological limb, oops, device, is really important to you and it is scary to leave it with a stranger but I 10/10 highly recommend this place and think TechRescue is very trustworthy. Well where do I start!! There are a few people who have to deal with so many people on an everyday bases as nice as Curt, and lets not even talk about Amy (She is a doll of a person). You will always be greeted with a smile when you approach her. I have been going to Curt for about a year and a half now and I can't say that i have ever encountered him on a bad day. I saw iphone Curt's sign as I was walking to CVS and thought- why not give him a try?? He took the phone apart, explained that I needed a new mother board and some other tech talk that went directly over my head. I agreed to the estimated costs- much cheaper than buying a new phone!! On Friday afternoon I went to iPhoneCurt around 2pm to get my iphone 5 checked out (battery wouldn't hold a charge). The gentleman who helped me assured me that I probably just needed a new charging port and that it would only be about a $60 repair, which was amazing because Apple had just told me that the phone was dead and that there was absolutely no way to retrieve all of my information from it. I explained to the guy that I had to work at 4 and that I really needed my phone by the end of the day because I was going out of town the following day. The guy told me that with the repair we would be cutting it close with time but if it wasn't done by 4 he would be more than happy to drop it off at my work. This was definitely going above and beyond! He ended up running the phone to the restaurant where I work at 7pm on a Friday night and we did the credit card transaction over the phone. Amazing. Curt and his team have saved me countless trips to Apple Store. They know all of the tricks and usually sort out the simple stuff without charging me. So much trust and goodwill has be built up over the years that I don't bring devices anywhere else when a new screen/battery/etc. needs replacing. I no longer purchase protection plans with iPhones or iPads because it is cheaper/faster/better to just go to TechRescue/iPhone Curt to get sorted out and be on my way. I wish they had a bigger selection of cases so wouldn't have to give my money to Amazon to get a purple case when it is time for a new one. read more

My MacBook Retina display got smashed and when I looked at the Apple Store repair cost it was so ridiculous I thought I might as well buy a brand new computer! Even though he was working on a number of other phones, Curt was able to replace my iPhone's shattered screen in under 25 minutes. He even put a fancy new screen cover on for free. While charging my phone ( iPhone 7 Plus ) it shut off and would not show anyway signs of life no matter what I did !!! I was highly upset . And so I tired a tech service called PULSE , the charged me $40 to evaluate my phone and tell me that they couldn't fix it . I got even more worried and upset . I went to Curt for my first generation iPod Touch. I could only hear out of one ear, so I need the headphone jack replaced/fixed. When I went to the "geniuses" at the Apple store, they told me it was impossible to fix it and I had to send it in for a replacement. That would cost ~$100. So, I decided to drop by Curt's. He fixed the thing up, good as new, even though it had been a while since he tackled an older version iPod. He even gave me a discount from the original quote, even though he could have easily ripped me off. I ended up paying $45 for the repair and you can't even tell it was touched! All of my music and data stayed intact. He even offered to fix it for little cost if the repair breaks again. He was very personable and does the job very well, very quickly. If you're looking for minor repairs on your phone, perhaps this place is okay. I can't speak to that. I brought a desktop PC in for repair and the incompetence and lack of customer service was surprising. To make a long story short, I was told that my PC wasn't working likely because of a motherboard failure. But that to figure out for sure the problem would cost up to $300 in labour alone, as it would take 'five or six hours' to do. The top quote I was given was up to $1000, where a new mobo would cost ~$450. I was also told my mobo might have been fried because I was using a 'cheap' power supply. After struggling to communicate with whomever I was speaking to on the phone, I asked if my mobo could be replaced with a cheaper one. I was told, after being on the phone for around 10 minutes as I'm trying to evaluate a potentially $1000 decision on the basis of scant information, that being on the phone right now is costing him. In other words, make a decision now, otherwise you're wasting my time. I went to pick up my computer the next day, and I was told I'd have to wait up to two more days to get it as it was dissembled and the 'tech' was leaving in 10 minutes. I had to push to get it back in one day. Altogether I lost a week with no results. I then brought it over to Compustar in Allston. They called me the next day within two hours of opening telling me they'd fixed my computer. Nothing wrong with the mobo. Or with my actually high end power supply. It was just that my SSD wasn't syncing with the mobo and some settings had to be changed. Total cost? $90 for two hours of labour. Compare that to the ludicrous $300 TechRescue quoted me just to run a diagnostic. Something tells me this place might be able to make your iphone screen pretty. But when it comes to real computer repair, take it to real techs. These guys were out of their league and weren't able to admit it. That's why they were looking to charge me big money: they knew fixing something they're not trained to fix would take them a lot of time they could otherwise spend polishing iphone cases. This place got such great reviews which is why I'm super disappointed to give it a not so great rating... I took my iPhone here after I had an accident with my water bottle (woops!). They said they'd take a look at it... 3 days later when I hadn't heard anything, I called back and they said they'd call me back and were still checking it out... 2 days later, they hadn't called so I called again. They said it was some touch screen issue and quoted me a price. An hour later they called back and said it was actually the motherboard and I needed a new iPhone - yikes! Price almost double :(.. womp, womp. The issue is it took them almost a week to get the new iPhone AND it turned out being a different color than my previous one. Not a big deal, and I wasn't willing to wait another indeterminate amount of time just to have a black one. But the lack of communication throughout the almost 3 week process really irked me. Nothing but friendly service, but I really would have appreciated being filled in and not having to call to check in every few days and get new information that way. It took forever! read more

My iPhone 4 is out of warranty and the home button was not working. I knew this was a hardware issue as I did a completely new restore with no luck. I took my iPhone 4 to this location and left an hour later with my home button working like-new (it was replaced). Furthermore I got a chance to talk to Curt about what the issue was (button had gotten wet underneath apparently). Curt and the staff were very nice and helpful. He also told me that if I have any future problems with the home button then I should just come back to them to figure things out. HIghly recommend these guys! UPDATE: I just realized something after the fact that I should have included in my original review. I actually had to return to iPhoneCurt before making it back to my car because they did not properly screw back the back panel of my iPhone 4. It was shifting in my hand as I walked back to my car. Of course they took care of it as soon I returned to their store, but it's a bit scary that such a thing took place to begin with. If you have your phone serviced, really make a point to see if everything looks and feels back in place before paying and leaving. read more
