Since new iPhones are so expensive, I was able to buy a older 5s for a reasonable price at Tech Rescue. Since then I have taken my devices there for repair and they always do a great job. Recently a child spilled water on the keyboard of my Mac so they replaced the keyboard. Following that near catastrophe, a cat clawed at the brand new keyboard so back to Tech Rescue to repair the /? key. Again the repair was done well and quickly. They are always pleasant and helpful, explaining things to a non tech person like myself. I highly recommend Tech Rescue. Big thank you to Tyler and the rest of the crew at TechRescue! My Macbook Air randomly stopped working on morning, and my first instinct was to take it to the Apple Store to get the issue diagnosed. There the tech informed me that the logic board has died and that it was not even worth replacing. I was devastated. On the recommendation of a friend, I brought my computer to TechRescue to see if they could salvage anything from that I was informed by an Apple tech was essentially useless. Awesome! My cracked screen was fixed in less than one hour for $90. I have a iPhone 5C, so it costs $90. iPhone 5 costs about $80, so I'm guessing iPhone 6's and anything more current would cost more. They also have a lifetime screen policy in case something happens like it getting stuck or the screen not functioning properly after it was repaired. Their policy doesn't cover cracked screens so if you crack it again, you'll have to pay. Other notes: Street parking. Next door to convenience store and subway while you wait. My iPhone slipped out of my hand and rather than allowing it to fall to the pavement, I attempted to grab it out of the air. I made contact, only I didn't catch it so much as essentially spike it into the asphalt. So when I say the phone was broken, it was really, really broken. I don't know how but the front glass didn't break and neither did the brain but every other switch, dial, port and jack were so completely smashed, they were unrecognizable. I didn't realize how many times a day I looked at my phone either. When it was out of service, I felt like a part of me was missing. I went on Yelp and typed in iPhone Repair Boston. I work close to where Curt's shop is and once I had brushed the guts of my shattered phone into a plastic bag, I trucked on over there. His place is pretty close to Brighton Center and there's even a free parking lot behind it. I'm sure the building had legitimate tenants at some point, but if next week someone told me they busted a meth lab in there, I'd say "oh yeah, sure, I got my phone fixed in there." That's an exaggeration. It's just old and tired. It's not dangerous. I told Curt I just ordered a new iPhone 4 and I really needed this phone back to fill in until the new one arrived and then I was gonna sell it to recoup some of the money for the new one. A day later he called and said he'd transplanted the brain of mine into a working phone and it worked fine so I can come pick it up. How much? $100 bucks. From a pile of twisted garbage to a fully functioning phone for $100 is a bargain. So if you've destroyed your phone in whatever manner and need it work again quickly, go see Curt. He's a super friendly guy who provides a terrific service at a reasonable price. I can't recommend him highly enough. read more

Everyone that works at iPhoneCurt deserves a hug. I'm not a clumsy person, but of course, everyone has their moments. My Galaxy Samsung S3 slipped and my screen shattered. I bought a cheapo $23 kit from Amazon and tried to repair it myself, and though it looked great, it didn't turn on because I damaged the.... digitizer and LCD (I think...) womp womppppp. I brought it to iPhoneCurt based on awesome reviews here on Yelp (Thanks!). He and everyone that works there was seriously awesome. For some reason, I thought it'd be a dungey little basement, and that Curt was a dorky sort of person with thick glasses. The office was large, clean, spacious and comfortable. There was a couch, a water bubbler, and a ton of broken screens hung from the season (like a giant baby mobile) - which I thought was amusing. Within 15 minutes, Curt replaced my screen and I was on my way. Sad thing was that it was $250, but it's the going rate everywhere for an S3, so it was a nice touch that he and his team were nice and polite. Five stars for customer service. I had the digitizer on my Motorola Atrix 4G replaced at iPhoneCurt today. It was crazy busy there so the repair took longer than expected, but ultimately I needed it done same day, and I know from videos online that it's a complicated repair, yet he still got it done. I have used these guys multiple times and each time I am more impressed with their AWESOMENESS! The devices I use today are constantly being banged up or broken. Almost 7 months later and I still can't forget about my awful experience here. To keep a long story short... I came here for data recovery due to water damage (not screen replacement) and all I encountered were careless technicians and condescending management. Not only did they wreck my chances at data recovery but also my phone (via them to 'trying' to make up for their error by 'performing' an off chip reset/recovery or w/e). They had my phone for like 3 months and needless to say, everything was a FAIL. I should've just taken the first 'L' (my 'new' scratched up replacement screen) and run! I paid for NoThiNG, i'm out of a phone and my precious data/memories. I'm upset (Drake voice) still. I am not convinced they know what they're doing (in regards to services I requested). Usually I focus on food or bar reviews and don't have experiences at general service based places to impact enough to make a memory warranting a review; these guys are the exception. I was anxious as hell because my phone had water damage. I work in real estate and thus my phone is my lifeblood. I went to these guys and all I can say is they are absolute rock stars. In less than an hour they had my phone back in working order. While I was there initially I was given quotes, an idea of timing and even an idea of what price and expectation might be on two other phones I needed looked at for my mother. They easily could just do the repair and charge you, but they told me it probably wasn't worth fixing the other 5s I brought in due to what it would likely cost. Openness like this in a service based industry is a rare thing so I appreciated it immensely. I will recommend this place to anyone that needs a phone repair, they make a really crappy thing to deal with easily turn into a positive experience. read more

Efficient. Great customer service. Great price. After breaking the screen on my Samsung Galaxy S6, I found this place through Yelp. Throughout the entire process, everyone was courteous and flexible with me. I went to the store in the afternoon in hopes they can replace the screen by the end of the day. The informed me that they couldn't do it in time before the store closed since I came int pretty late and a screen replacement for the S6 is a bit more complicated. But they were very accommodating and figured out the soonest time that worked for me to pick up my phone. As soon as they replaced my screen, they emailed me to inform the phone was fixed. Went in to pick it up - it's as good as new! I would never want to return to this store (please don't break, phone!), but I definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs their devices fixed. PS. I've checked the price of over 5 different stores in the area (from Woburn to Boston) and they gave me the best price. :) read more

Have NO CLUES HOW COME THEY GOT 5-STAR RATINGS??!! I went to this shop on 7/6 for the water damage of my HTC HD2. Curt told me that he could not quote me the price before they take a look. I did not hear anything from since, which was 3 weeks. I went there five times and called at least 4 times to see what's going on? Curt was always "calm" and said that it usually takes a week to take a look, then another week, then another week. One day I called him to leave a nice message, yet no response. On 7/22 when I went there, he said he would call me, yet never. I called on 7/26 and he kind of "well, we are still working on that". So I decided to go there take a look. I finally found out that he has NOT even taken a look and asked me to wait over and over. When I said I want to take it back, he said that I will need to wait for half an hour that he can put them back. Wow! Am I not supposed to know that he started to repair it? I asked them so many times about the cost but he never knew?! What a redicious, exhausting and unpleasant experience that I have! He even offered me to leave my HD2 there and he would order a mother board, so I will need to wait weeks??? Based on the reviews at Yelp, I am not sure how IphoneCurt got good ratings?!! Her are my thoughts: (1) If your I-phone is broken, go for it. If not, I doubt their knowledge and skills about other smart phones. Curt told me that HD2 is too complicated to get it fixed on 7/26. (2) IphoneCurt REALLY needs to pay more attention to customer services and how customers feel. (3) It's hard to believe that a shop never respond a customer within 3 weeks, so why??? May or may not be in love with this man, Curt. Cracked iPhone and came in today in a super rush. I only had an hour to spare. Curt put a new screen on in under an hour. He realized though, that something must be wrong with the new screen he had put on (it would bug out when making a call),and offered me a discount AND try another screen, hoping that it wasn't actually the phone that was broken, but just the screen he happen to put on. I actually needed the phone then and the for rest of the day, and was in a super rush, so he told me to take it and I had two options... 1. He could send someone TO MY HOUSE to pick it up so I didnt have to make another out of the way (Southie to Brighton) trip after the work day and have it ready by tomorrow... OR 2. Go to Apple with the new screen- dont tell them about the incident or that the screen was replaced, but just say the iPhone started randomly doing it. Apple will consider it a hardware glitch and give me a new one. He could have easily just told me to come back so that he can get the dough and fix it, but instead ushered me out with a discounted price and great advice. And he said multiple times "I dont want you thinking Im leaving you with a broken phone- What ever you decide, I will make sure it's fixed." This place was amazing! Curt was so awesome and the woman working there (I think his wife) was so, so nice. I cracked the screen on my iphone and then tried to fix it myself. It was clearly not successful so I took it to Curt's place. Within 30 minutes my phone was back to normal, maybe even better than before. He fixed the parts I had messed up, as well as fixing the root problem. On top of fixing everything perfectly, they were fast, nice, conveniently located, and friendly. Extraordinary honesty and integrity. When it came time to pay for their wonderful work, the owner volunteered to me that they they had somehow forgotten to give us a price in advance when we had first come to them as is their usual policy. He told us what the standard price would have been, but then told us that, in light of the fact that he hadn't warned us the we brought it in, we should just pay what we had expected it to be. We would not do that, but he insisted on taking much less.
