Note to Self (and Anyone With Ears): Stop Hiring "Audio Experts" From Craigslist Unless You Enjoy…read moreHeadaches and Fire Hazards After 2 months of dealing with professional audio guys from Thumbtack, Craigslist, and Angi (I use the word "professional" the same way people call a microwave "cooking"), I was ready to launch my entire sound system into orbit. Some of these so-called experts wouldn't respond at all. Others would respond and then ask me what I thought was wrong. Um, if I knew that, Einstein, I wouldn't be Googling "audio installer near me while slowly losing my will to live." One guy asked if I tested the wires (I hadn't), and then told me to go to Lowe's and buy a tool to check for power. At that point, I considered just hiring my neighbor's kid--at least he knows how Bluetooth works. Enter: Hometronic (cue angelic choir and bass drop). Found them on Google--along with two other companies--but Hometronic responded within 20 minutes and offered to come out same day. YES. A real live human with a truck and tools who knew what the heck he was doing. Mitchell showed up, and to be honest, even he had to scratch his head at first (which gave me slight PTSD flashbacks to the other guys), but here's the difference: Mitchell diagnosed, tested, and figured it out. Turns out one outdoor speaker was toast--fried due to someone (cough "Indoor-Wire-Is-Fine-For-Outside" guy cough) doing the original install. The other speaker was fine, but the whole wiring job looked like a spaghetti monster had a breakdown. A few days later, Mitchell returned with new outdoor speakers, rewired the system properly (WITH ACTUAL OUTDOOR WIRE--revolutionary, I know), cleaned up the mess, tucked the wires neatly out of the elements, and BAM--I had music again. Moral of the story: Don't trust your speakers, sanity, or electrical system to randos on budget apps. Hire a pro. Read the reviews. And when in doubt, call Hometronic. They'll actually show up, know what they're doing, and won't make you test wires like it's your side gig. Would 1000% use again. Thanks Mitchell--you're the real MVP.

I was in the market for a home theater system install. I contacted four companies in the LV area…read moreand HomeTronic provided the best quote and value for the quality of product provided and the related installation services. It was quite a project that took over 3 days to complete over a period of a few weeks. The Hometronic team was excellent from initial consult to estimate, to deposit, to the technician work for carving out holes for the speakers and the actual install. Best of all, the post installation and final payement service was excellent as well with the team available for questions in a somewhat complicated yet ultimately easy to use system. Absolutely love my new home theater and many thanks to David Poser, Jason, Dean, and others on the team for helping set up my favorite room in my house.

I was really pleased with their service. They are very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly…read more To give you an idea of the work that was done. They successfully mounted my home entertainment speakers on my ceiling by going through the attic. The final look was clean with no visible wires. I appreciated their candidness and ability to work with me on prices and equipment. I would recommend them to anybody!

I'm nearing the end of an extensive project to modify an upstairs room into a proper home theater…read more At every stage of this process--from initial brainstorming to projector screen hanging--I've felt VERY fortunate to be relying on the professionalism, expertise, and integrity of Don, Bill & Carolyn at Image, Sound & Control (IMSOCO). Although I had been using the room as a theater for several years, turning it into a proper theater required some serious effort including removing and relocating one wall; rerouting the A/C system; building a riser; remounting doors; installing and wiring computer-controlled lighting; and of course, permanently installing and organizing the previously tangled network of cabling. I was prepared to spend a few bucks on this because having a permanent, dedicated theater was a lifelong dream; but like most of us, I didn't have unlimited funds. Here was the first sign that IMSOCO was a superior choice. At every decision point, Don & Bill have had one eye on "doing it well and right" and another eye on respecting my budget. This extends from shopping for high quality but cost-effective products (chairs, screen, etc.) to integrating my current audio/video gear into the A/V design. And that respect for budget isn't just lip service. On the few occasions that part of the project took a little longer than expected or didn't go quite as efficiently as Don intended, my bill was voluntarily adjusted (without any request from me!) so that the inconvenience didn't come out of my pocket. That's extraordinary integrity at work. Before any actual construction began, Don meticulously discussed EVERY IMAGINABLE detail of the project and prepared CAD drawings to pin down measurements, features, wire runs, and the like. Further, throughout the project, Don (who is officially the most detail-oriented person I've ever met, and therefore, EXACTLY the guy you want supervising a project like this) thought, rethought, and consulted me on every choice and refinement, including proposing solutions I would NEVER have thought of (and I've been doing home theater as an amateur for nearly four decades, myself.) Key to all of those choices is Bill, a professional musician with decades of audio/video experience. Since I'm a musician myself (and an audiophile old-timer), I appreciate that Bill brings to the project an authority and comfort level that can only be realized with a true meeting of the minds. He knows how high-quality A/V should look and sound, and how to get there whether your budget is unlimited or down-to-earth. Every expense was precisely identified and approved in advance, and the billings from Carolyn were detailed and clear. No hidden charges, no surprises, all up front and in the open. Finally, Don, Bill & Carolyn--and their team of pros who have participated on the project (with their own contributions of expertise and creativity)--made this experience a helluva lot of fun. When the project comes to completion, I'll post a photo of the final results. At this point, I wanted to chime in with an endorsement of IMSOCO for anyone who is considering a new audio and/or video system, or adding automation to their home. You'll enter into a project with Image, Sound & Control with a superior professional relationship, and come out of the project in an authentically friendly relationship--and a MUCH IMPROVED home entertainment/automation setup.
