I'm not 100% that I bought the machine I need-- mostly because I'm a tech twit who was last competent at the 10 goto 10 era shift point -- but I am completely comfortable with the person behind the sale and with the service backing my future experience. As you know if you followed my adventures in errand running today, I was in extreme executive dysfunction and not good at being in public. At the store that almost spiraled into full meltdown. I started to shake and cry but I kept trying to explain what I needed and why. Mark patiently listened and even took my sensory issues into consideration re: recommended machine. My iPhone 13 Pro died on the last day of a two-week vacation. It sucked losing my phone, but what I was more concerned about the photos I lost. My phone stopped backing up to iCloud about 1 week into the vacation (even though I had it been connected to power and wi-fi every night). I suspected the phone had water damage. I took it to the Apple Store and explained that my main concern was recovering my photos. They did a quick diagnostic and could not get a response from the phone. The Apple Store said that they cannot repair water damage and would need to replace the logic board which would mean I would lose all the data and that it would cost about half the price of a new phone. They referred me to a data recovery business that everyone online says charges exorbitant fees, likely thousands of dollars. I decided to give GadgetMates a try as their website lists water damage and iPhone data recovery among their services. I brought my phone to them late on a Friday afternoon and they said they would diagnose it and get back to me. I expected to hear back Monday with some bad news, but was surprised when they called me back an hour or two later saying the phone just needs a new screen, power port, and proximity flex cable and the cost would be about half of what the Apple Store quoted. Most importantly, the logic board was intact. I swung by their store to enter my pin while they had it hooked up to a new screen so I could confirm the photos were all there. They were able to fix it that same day while I waited in their shop playing some arcade games. I highly recommend GadgetMates for any phone issues and wouldn't hesitate to use them again should the need arise. read more

Brought my ps5 in to be fixed, instead of fixing/cleaning my console they decided to overclock it, I got it back for less than a month and it ended up breaking fully, gagetmates took 0 accountability. Instead of trying to fix there mistake they told me I had the "red ring of death" and that I needed to fork over another 300$ after paying almost 200 already. GadgetMates fixed my iPhone about six weeks ago, which a car had run over. They did it in one day, which was fantastic as I cannot do business without my phone. About a week later, my phone's display started occasionally blacking out for a couple of seconds. It kept doing it and slightly increased in frequency. The display went totally black before I had a chance to take it back to GadgetMates . After GadgetMates fixed my phone originally, they told me to bring it back in if I had any trouble with it, which I did the next day. They said they would look at the phone and call me later that day. Four hours later, I received a text saying my phone was fixed and to come pick it up. I was a little concerned as I didn't have a guarantee or warranty in writing, just the verbal word of an employee. My worries were resolved when I was told there was no charge and the phone was working fine. This is the type of establishment I enjoy doing business with. I found this place via yelp. This place was worth the drive. It was so stress free to walk in here, meet the techs, discuss what I wanted, and be understood! I wanted to be able to use wireless headphones on my 80s boombox. I'd never experienced bluetooth before. (didn't need to) The 2 recommended items I bought seemed to be ok in price, what do I know? (I also was given a discount on an out of stock item.) But it was worth it to get the techie help. After purchase, I was explained what I needed to do to get into operation. I was referred to this place by another store. The Eastern Avenue location staff Carlos took my laptop in for a diagnosis pertaining to the BIOS issue. Carlos said ETA would be 24 hours and most likely by the end of that same day. I waited until the very next day afternoon and didn't get a call or text, so I decided to follow up. On the phone, another staff told me that there was nothing wrong with the laptop with OS running again normal now and that I could come and pick the laptop up. I asked to have the laptop opened up to see if there was anything I need to do to prevent the same issue from happening again. This very same person told me that I would get a call in an hour. That never happened, so I went ahead to the store. Finally I was told the laptop was at Patrick Ln store now. I said no problem and more than happy to drive by the store. I met another stuff named Chris. Weirdly enough Chris asked me about my earlier conversation with the other staff at Eastern location. I told Chris that I was given the direction to come here and was informed that the laptop was ready for pickup. Chris went back to grab my laptop and came back said I had to pay to have the laptop released since they fixed it. I asked what's the fix. Chris said that they just tried a few ways to boot the laptop and it worked somehow but didn't know what the root cause was. Chris called the owner Mark, and we agreed to $40 customary charge. I also had Chris check a noise inside the laptop. The guy Chris used unbelievable brute force trying to open up the hinge cover but failed, which left damages to the cover. This is the primary reason I decided to write this review. It just sucks. read more

Went in 2 days ago to get my Iphone 16 Pro screen replaced. I opted for the OLED option and it was done in a few hours. Upon pickup I was disappointed with the quality. The screen had a blue hue to it and was basically unusable at low brightness. The gentleman at the desk asked me to come back the next day and they upgraded me to the Apple quality screen with no extra fuss. Donovan did a great job with the screen replacement.
