This place is absolutely amazing! As videographers, my husband and I run our business on a computer. We are constantly editing and need our machines to be in pristine shape. An elderly family member had issues with installing a printer and needed help so called this company first. They told her straight up her computer was hacked, had viruses, her PHONE was hacked and had viruses and wanted to charge her $200 for a fix. She found a family member that knew computers and would help her, he checked everything, no viruses but still couldn't install the printer. Checked printer spooler, it was DISABLED. Asked her if this was where he was at and she said Yup. The tech went in, disabled her printer spooler and upcharged for his services. Please guys. if you want to run a business, run it honestly. She might not know much about computers but she knew someone who did luckily instead of fall into the trap. read more

I brought my MacBook Pro into Tech2U for a repair. The computer had a broken LED screen and a small dent near the apple symbol on the back of the screen cover. The screen still worked, showing a partial picture and nothing else was disturbed. It had never been dropped, only bumped hard enough by the corner of a door that it dented and broke the LED from behind. Thankfully I was still able to hook it up to an external monitor up until I had saved just enough to get it repaired. I had two different people assisting me, both assuring me it was a simple repair they would just need to order the part but they would have it finished for me in two to three days. So I paid for the part that would need to be ordered, knowing I was paying more than it was worth but accepting that they probably went with certain companies and maybe had warrantee agreements to justify the price. I tried to be very understanding and patient throughout this entire process, but I feel like they took advantage of that. Two days later they inform me that they had broken the glass while taking it out to replace the LED. They were going to charge me for the additional part until I insisted that it was not broken when I dropped it off and that they had assured me I would only be paying for the one part. The store manager told me that he would see what he could do, and eventually called me back reassuring me that they would cover the cost of the glass and it should be ready by Wednesday. One week later, two days after they promised they would call for pick up, and not receiving any updates, I called to check on the progress of my computer, this was extremely inconvenient, and I had to call several times before the store manager called me back. I was really becoming frustrated, but I was really trying to be professional and understanding that sometimes things just go wrong and there's not much you can do about it. The lack of communication and professionalism on their part was making this more difficult. They had insisted that they would have it done in two-three days so I would have plenty of time before I moved out of town in several weeks, at this point, I have postponed my move a full day waiting to pick up my computer, because they had promised would be finished that day. I ended up having to leave while still waiting for them to fix my computer. They told me that the picture wasn't working now and they would have to replace another part. They ordered that part and another week went by when they received the wrong part and had to reorder, meanwhile even though they promised to call and keep me informed, I'm not getting any updates, I have to call them every time. This made me feel ridiculous, I was trying to be patient and allow them to call like they had promised to do, hoping they had good reasons for not calling, but if I didn't call, multiple days would go past the promised date of pick up and I wouldn't hear from them. Finally they replace the part but by the time I have called back to see how it's going they tell me they have also replaced my motherboard without informing me. I'm now afraid that they are doing more damage to my computer than good and have completely lost any trust I had for them handling this repair. I use my computer for work, so all this time is costing me money, they seem to have no concern or appreciation for this fact and hold onto my computer for three more days before we call and insist that they mail it back to us. Now my husband was having to call them as well. When I finally got my computer in two days ago it had a completely different screen unit, with scratches and marks all over the computer that were not there when I dropped it off. There are light spots in in the screen picture, it looks like they used a screen from another repair and didn't bother fixing this one either but charged me anyway. They were obviously not being honest about the replacement, I don't know why, maybe hoping I wouldn't notice? I always kept a cover on my computer to resist dust/scratches and other damage, but it wasn't enough to protect it from the corner of a door slamming into it, although the dent that was near the apple symbol is gone, and it almost looks like they pried the screen off bending the hinges. It looks like they were really rough with my computer and dishonest about their repairs to it, I am very upset. Also, on my bill it says they replaced an LCD screen when the repair was originally to replace an LED screen. This caused a lot of stress for my husband and I as we rely on this computer for work, and it had so much of our lives on it. I am extremely dissatisfied with their service. read more

I was debating on Geek Squad or Tech Service 2 u, to come out and check out my computer. Even though Geek squad tend to be everywhere, Tech Service 2 u seems to be reasonable. So going with Tech Service 2 u, which are located in Henderson and unfortunately I live in the North end in Aliante. Its a bit obvious that there are a few unpleasant issues with this business. If you are living in the North end, having them come out, will take a few hours for them to get to you. I set up an appointment with them online, and using their live chat, made it seem very easy and friendly. It was set for the technician to arrive in between 4pm - 7pm. Which sounds reasonable, but getting a phone call saying that they'll be an hour. I would probably expect them to be here in an hour. Unfortunately it was longer than the operator expected. But it was still in between the 4-7 time slot, so, I can't really get upset about that. I couldn't get my Window 7 to install on my newly built computer for some strange reason. Probably cause it was my first built and not 100% sure with everything I put in it. I did get what was recommended, but for some strange reason, Window 7 wasn't loading. The tech guy that came, did his diagnostic, to see what was wrong. He went through the hardware and did his thing to see if he could get it to work. but the problem became more than what he could handle outside the shop. What he did suggest, is for me to lower my wattage to the minimum requirement or a little bit over as well as lower my hard drive to 500gb. If that doesn't work, then it might be better to take it to the shop. The diagnostic only cost $99, if they were to fix it, it would only cost $159. At this point, I paid the $99 for the diagnostic. I did what he told me too, I change the wattage and the hard drive, but unfortunately that didn't work. So I did drive all the way to Henderson, to drop off my computer at Tech Service 2 U. Their office place is located on Eastern and Warm Spring. Right behind a 7-11 store. The person who took my computer were nice and took it in. They told me they'll look at it, go through the specs, and do their "process of elimination" to see if my hardware is defective. They told me that they will call and keep me posted. Which they did, and I do appreciate them keeping me updated. But after a 3 days in the shop, I was a bit concerned and haven't heard from them. So I gave them a ring and check on the status of my computer. They told me, my dream computer, turned into a living nightmare. I wasn't really happy hearing that. But, they did give me their opinion and did their best to pinpoint the problem. It came down to my motherboard or processor, which they couldn't fix, cause they didn't have parts for that. They have parts for everything else. But for one who's building a computer from scratch, I guess you're motherboard and processor is more of a personal choice and shouldn't be tampered with. Despite the fact that my computer isn't totally fixed, the fact of them pinpointing what the problems may be, gives me a chance to find an answer. Which I do appreciate that they took the time to do so. Cause quite honestly, If i did things my way, I would of probably been frustrated even more, if I never went to Tech Service 2 U. With that in mind, the overall cost was only $99, since they didn't fix it. But if they were to fix it, they would only have charge me for the other $60, to reach their flat rate of $159. Since they did point me in the right direction, I do have the option to have them fix it, if I got the new part, or fix it myself and cross my fingers. Overall, if you guys are building a computer from scratch and probably not as computer savvy as me. Tech Service 2 U will fix it for you, or point you in the right direction. They do have computer parts, and I'm sure they have software's to make your computer work. If they can't make it work, then they'll give you an answer and not leave you hanging. I believe they are cheaper than Geek Squad and their flat rate is perfect. Yes, I may not be happy that my computer isn't working at the moment, but being pointed in the right direction is better than having a broken computer and not know where the problem is. *For future reference, make sure your processor is compatible with Window 7, unfortunately, mine wasn't, but I believe Window 7 will allow my processor to work someday. So at this point, I have to buy a new processor that Window 7 can read and save the other processor for a later upgrade* read more

I was very pleased with our experience. We were having printer troubles, and I had tried every solution available on the wild world of the Internetz to no avail, so I called Tech 2U. The technician came right over, explained that there were two solutions (repair or replace), and actually recommended replacement. They installed the new printer, got it working easily, and saved us a ton of headaches. They were polite, efficient, and clear about their pricing. I think this YELP is nonsence. I had written a 5 star review on Tech 2U and I now see it was removed. Hmmm...one has to wonder how reputable YELP is??? I provided Tech 2 U with a 5 star rating because of how efficient, professional and knowledgable they were with computers. I had Ernesto as my tech and I cannot say enough good things about him. He was on time with the appointment and fixed several major issues I had with my computer. My computer runs faster than it ever did and I have had NO issues once so ever since he repaired my computer. I would NOT however, recommend the Geek Squad. They spent 4 hours at my home and finally looked at me after 4 hours and said, "We can't repair the problem". I think they were hoping I'd come to their store and purchase another computer. Now, I want to see if my review remains this time. My last review of Techs 2U lasted 3 days before it was removed. I'm 77 years old. I went all the way to my masters degree with a portable Underwood typewriter, so I really need someone I can trust to help me troubleshoot my computer and solve all of its big and small problems. I have contacted TECH2U three times for problems of various sizes, and they have always helped me solve every problem. "Solutions" to my problems from other companies have involved talking to people I don't know from "out of town" (maybe "out of country"!) and not trusting the advice and manipulation that I feel is going on. What I get from TECH2U is quick, knowledgeable, and thorough service and answers to my problems without overcharging or manipulation. At my age, it's hard to trust some "expert from afar" who seems almost too busy to really listen to my explanations of what's troubling me. The thing that is MOST important to me is that TECH2U is local, so that---if all else fails---I can bring in my computer to a local center and they will work the problem. We have used TECH 2 U for several years for Home Computer issues, as well as their monthly "remote" computer cleanup/ security checks. We have always been very happy with their services. It is easy to set-up an in-person visit if needed. Recently, we had Matthew F. come to our home to work on several issues I was having. He was Fantastic! He worked like a "dog with a Bone" to get to the bottom of my problem. He was not going to give up until he got everything straightened out, which he did! Matthew also has such a wonderful personality that it felt like having a friend over to help me. A big plus for me, as a very non-techie older person, he did not talk down to me or treat me like a dummy. He actually helped me understand some of what he was doing. Of course, he was observing all the protocols for Co-Vid which I would expect from any company at this time. They did manage to recover most of the items off my hard drive, but if they offer to replace it on a used computer, don't do it. they only load odd programs, you have to reload yours. so if you're using something like Word, or Adobe, they files will be transferred to some obscure program and then you have to convert them. They don't seem capable of transferring all files either. Fortunately, most everything was backed up on either disks or an external hard drive. The worst part however is apparently the replacement computer that they assured me would be compatible with my old one, has less hard drive space and it won't burn disks. I mean really, what do they mean compatible when they ones they offer don't burn a disk. Don't take them off on their offer for their used computers, they are pretty trashy. And actually, they're just not that impressive overall. read more

We (my husband and I) were very happy with TECH2U. First we bought Computer from them. Then we were having some problems with our internet. One of tech support person from TECH2U came over and solve immediately. He advised us that what was the specific problem and took care of it with a few minutes. Imagine trying to transfer info from one computer to another. Now add "Doing this for hours unsuccessfully." Now add "...on New Year's Day." Now imagine calling a computer place at 8 in the evening on New Year's Day and...getting a human being -- not a recording-- on the other end of the line! Tech2U sent out someone to deal with the problem at 8 AM the next day. My laptop broke and i needed it for business. I called TECH2U and the assured me they do this all the time and would be able to fix my computer the same day. I got to the store and they told me they could not diagnose my computer for 3 days. I was talked into buying a new high end gaming computer by the associate. The computer is awful. It was obviously not new because it had previous owners files on the hard drive and the computer had many capacity issues, even though i was assured it would handle my poker sites. I was told my old laptop had a burned out fan. They ordered me the part and had it ready for me 2-3 weeks later. It was sent to me and It has never worked. Not even once. It turns on for 5 mins and then shuts off just like before. I asked for a customer service rep to call me and got nothing. They are con artists. I have warranted hunch that they never replaced the fan as i hear no movement from it when i start up. Anyways Stay AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. USE ANYBODY ELSE BY ALL MEANS. read more
