PROBLEM: I needed my laptop to connect to my cellphone 'Hot Spot.' After he analyzed my problem based on the info I gave him...He connected my laptop to his wireless store network; And everything worked well. Therefore, upon farther inspection...It was determined that the security password I entered, was in the uppercase mode instead of lowercase. He showed me how to make sure to access the appropriate icon in order to view and check the mode as the password is being entered. I was 'STOKED!' And, on top of that...there was 'NO CHARGE!' My Mac Mini had been running extremely slow since I upgraded the system software to do my taxes. I contacted Tech 2U and they tried to run a diagnostic over the web, but it wasn't possible. If I could give them 0 stars I would. We paid for their $20 per month service as a protection plan, so we were told. Our computer has had the dreaded blue screen for over a week and their customer service says January is the soonest someone can come out. The $20 was supposed to protect our computer from any issues. The employee who came over seemed more concerned with "up selling" with knee-jerk diagnosis than troubleshooting for the real issue. Ended up kicking him out and handling it myself. For many common computer issues you are better off doing a little research and handling it yourself. Reason I called these guys in the first place was I had a time crunch and was willing to pay a fair price for efficient and competent service. Neither was provided, so I told the tech to leave, without payment since nothing was accomplished. Shortly thereafter, another employee called to try and get the tech back on the job while peddling some more hogwash which further pissed me off. Kevin was great. He fixed the charging on my MacBook Pro. When I went to the Apple store they told me that they couldn't fix it and I had to buy a new one. A coworker that fixes computers referred me to Tech 2U and I'm glad he did. Kevin was honest didn't try to sell me anything that I did not need. They sent somebody out immediately and the gentleman who helped me was both knowledgable and friendly. He solved my problem as well as answering any additional questions I had over the phone. So frustrated! I had an old computer transfer to new computer. 5 years ago I had this done by someone else and everything worked out perfect! THIS TIME!! I only got data files transferred. No Office, No Outlook, lost 100's contacts, all birthdays and all appointments on my calendar. Because the windows 10 wasn't installed I lost 95% of all my passwords. I could have easily done that had I known! This will take weeks to get flowing again! OK, they may have done what I told them to do, but would expect a little communication about what to expect. HOLY CRAP what a mess! In hind site I should have installed windows 10, Office and all my programs on the new computer 1st, then taken it in for the transfer.
