This is my 2nd time at Teaspoon but at a different location. This location is much cuter than the other one I've been to. It reminds of me a nice and quiet neighborhood where you can walk around and feel safe. I tried a different drink this time which is jasmine milk tea. Although I asked for 100% sweet, it's on the lighter side of sweet. If you are not into sugary super sweet drinks, I think Teaspoon might be a place for you to try. read more

I know Teaspoon is popular because of their boba drinks, but I came for their snow ice which felt very much like my own personal bingsu. I ordered the California Snow - Avocado snow w/ mochi, shaved almonds, condensed milk topping. PERFECT for the hot weather we were having this summer. The snow was a great consistency, almost felt like ice cream. The staff was so kind and answered all of my questions as a first timer. First off, I'd like to say that this drink is super vibrant and tastes just as good as it looks! Strawberry matcha milk teas tend to be a hit or miss whenever I order it at boba shops, but this one was a hit. The matcha wasn't too grainy and the strawberries weren't too overpowering, which is usually the problem I have. The boba was also cooked nicely and wasn't overly sweet. Another thing I liked was that their straws are eco friendly and don't get soggy immediately like paper straws do. The inside of the shop is a bit small, but it's still cutely decorated. I've tried this place 3 times to give it a fair chance. The drinks are hit or miss. Today, I got the strawberry sangria 75% sweet and it was way too sweet. The tea wasn't that strong for a black tea and the strawberries inside tasted like it was soaked in sugar for too long that it was like jam. It was too sweet for me to finish. I have tried ube coffee in different places and to be honest, the ube extract is the hard part of the drink. Most of the places use really low quality ube extract but this place uses really good quality ube extract/powder and it blends really well with coffee. Teaspoon has finally opened up in Davis! After trying to open since 2015-ish, they're finally up and running! I got the house milk tea and Hype (coffee) drinks! The cashier was super friendly, but there was a small wait for our drinks, despite not having that many people in line! The store is pretty tiny, with maybe enough space for 2-3 people to wait for their drinks and 3-5 people to stand in line and order. There aren't any seats or tables, but I did hear an employee mention they want to add a few outside seating options! House milk tea with boba: 3/5 The house milk tea tasted a little too artificially sweet, and the boba pearls were super soft and soggy. I got it with regular ice, but there was only the tiniest bit of ice in it! Hype coffee drink: 5/5 Wow! The "Hype" drink sure lives up to its name! It tastes like a more bitter version of a Vietnamese iced coffee and definitely packed a punch! I'm definitely coming back for this in the future! Teaspoon is finally open!! I've seen this shop about 2-3 years ago, but never seen it officially open until now! I've only been to the SJ locations and know there are a few locations all over the bay area, but luckily Davis now has one. When I first walked into the shop I noticed that it was pretty small. There aren't any tables to sit down and stay for a while. It is more of a grab and go type of boba shop. I got there right when the shop opened at 12pm so I did not have to wait long. The shop is very simple but still cute. I love the display of cups they have on the side next to the cash register. There is also a little wall where you can take aesthetic photos of your drink. The cashier was very friendly, and said if I had any questions then she could recommend some drinks. The menu consists of snow ice and drinks. Since it was still early, I opted for just drinks. I chose the caramel cream and my boyfriend got the roasted tea creama. He got 75% sweetness for his drink. I was not asked whether I wanted to adjust my sweetness levels so I assumed that it could not be adjusted. My drink came with boba, even though I did not order it with boba. I assume that it just came with the drink which is a nice plus if you do like boba. The drink was pretty good. It is a little more on the sweet side if you like that, and the boba was very soft which made it easier to chew. My boyfriend liked the roasted tea creama but since he got 75% sweetness, he said next time he would get it a little sweeter. read more

I particularly like them for their iced teas- their grape oolong is so floral and refreshing and goes great with the honey boba (I get it half sweet). Definitely has become one of my top boba spots in Davis! I originally discovered Teaspoon on a trip to San Francisco and immediately fell in love. That's why I was so ecstatic to learn that they'd opened up a location in Davis! 'm writing this post having been to Teaspoon Davis for the tenth time possibly in the span of two months and only just now realized that I could give a review. The employees are always welcoming to those who walk in and make the drinks relatively fast. I've got to say, my favorites would have to be the Taro Lover, Sweet Marshmallow, Liquid Gold, and Caramel Cream thus far! Today I got the Caramel Cream and you'd be surprised with how much they make the drink look exactly like the picture! I was extremely impressed. The boba is an amazing texture and has actually kept up well in the fridge in the past (though I know you're supposed to finish boba within 2 hours lol). To top it off, I caved in and bought the beautiful starry glass bottle they recently released. It has the prettiest shine and is one of the best glass bottles I've encountered yet! Also a side note for the Taro Lover: This drink is one of the main reasons I've become so infatuated with Teaspoon. It is because of the REAL TARO CHUNKS. But the taro drink was very disappointing there was basically no taro chunks in it and the taro drink just didn't taste good without it. Tried in SF and was not the same and tried it in Davis and it was good, but the roasted oolong was little mild or water down. Will give them another try and update later.
