He showed me and my home respect and was very educated in his field. The install went great and fast and when complete he cleaned up his work area. Here's where Benchmark IT & Telecom excelled. An hour or so later, I found that a cable was knocked loose in my attic and I lost communication to some of my devices. I realized that this is something that happens sometimes with installs, but wondered how they would handle my call. I called the tech and he was very apologetic. He was happy to return and fix the issue ASAP. I unfortunately was not able to meet that day, but he gladly returned the next business day (with a second tech) and finished the job. To be clear, I know my technology, I've worked in this field for many years. These guys know their stuff. I recently moved in to a new (to me) home and wanted to find a company to help me with my…read moretechnology goals. I had previously taken a DIY approach to my A/V and security systems, but wanted to make my new place fully integrated from a technology standpoint. I started researching companies and got quotes from several before making my final decision. I found Kelltech Systems by searching the internet, looking for a Control4 dealer in the Dallas areas. They were Platinum rated by Control4 and had good reviews online, so I gave them a call. Kyle is the lead sales person there and he came out to my home to meet with me in person to talk through what I wanted to accomplish. We discussed options for putting music throughout the home (my home happened to be pre-wired for speakers, but none were installed), surveillance cameras so we could see the perimeter of the house, an alarm system with remote control from an app (alarm.com), and some light home automation including lighting control for some key lights, automated shades for my master bedroom, and thermostat integration. Kyle answered all of my questions on these topics and educated me on some ideas I wasn't aware of (like having the alarm sensors trigger lights to come on when I come home). He sent me a detailed, written proposal a few days later, and made the changes I needed to the proposal so that I could move forward. The install crew that came out was prepared for the work, knew exactly what was to be done, and carried out the work quickly and professionally. They trained me on the system so that I felt comfortable using the features and they left my home very clean, despite having cut in new speakers into the ceiling (a messy job). All that to say, if you're looking for a competent, professional, and friendly company for your A/V and security systems, Kelltech is a great resource. Marc recommended despite not being familiar with the product, which he eventually admitted to me. Great feeling. He helped design the outdoor kitchen so understood it was permanent and natural gas. Regardless, sold me propane so it doesn't work. My outdoor kitchen including masonry and taj mahal countertops was custom made to fit the specific Napoleon grill so expensive to switch and redo. It took 4-6 weeks between Napoleon and Marc to understand it was propane and needed a regulator. Still didn't work. I repeatedly requested a Napoleon rep come service the grill. No service and Marc simply referred me to Napoleon's national call center. Took another 4-6 weeks to finally learn from Napoleon, not Marc, that he sold me propane and therefore I also needed a conversion kit from propane to natural gas; AND if it had been natural gas, I wouldn't need the regulator or the conversion kit. Napoleon refused to sell me the conversion kit. Instead of doing the RIGHT THING and replacing the grill with natural gas, Star Power graciously offered to provide me the $26 conversion kit. I declined. After 3 more weeks of endlessly calling a number of diamond dealers, I still don't have a conversion kit. I'm done with Star Power and Napoleon! We just moved into our new home, and it's been 3 months and I still don't have grill. Absolutely Pathetic! Won't bother the other problems.
