Based on the quality of service from this location since my last review, things have really gone downhill. The employees no longer greet me, make me feel awkward while ordering, and they do not answer phone calls when I try to make a pickup order. I visited today and left before I could make my order. The employee at the register made it clear I would be standing there for a while before I asked if the wait was going to be long. He said yes. I then asked him if it was for an online order, but he told me it would be for an in store order that would take a while. I asked because I've had to wait a while for online orders before, which is sort of reasonable. The interaction just left me feeling annoyed. I've already had a few uncomfortable moments with the employees at the register, so I decided then that I'm no longer going to be visiting. I ended up going across the street to the milk tea place next to the dollar tree. The employee who rang me up was very nice. read more

Courteous and helpful staff and I'm glad they're still servicing us despite the pandemic going around. However food and drinks a little subpar compared to what was shown in their reviewed photos; both popcorn chicken and garlic fries were stale and dry. There was no physical appearance of basil leaves or garlic chunks present, making it seem like the fries were seasoned with only garlic powder. Their classic tea at 25% sweetness had no taste of tea whatsoever -- so it was milky water?? I hope with full sweetness it doesn't overwhelm and disguise the actual drink. I'm also hopeful the quality is mediocre due to the demand during the pandemic. read more

Came back a few time before and every time they made my order (Buckwheat Tea) very, very sweet. Their teas, although unique, are pretty average, although their boba is always very nice and chewy. This time around, I decided to give the buckwheat tea another try. After ordering, the workers, unsure about the flavor of the tea, approached me and asked to try to see if the flavor was fine. I appreciated they took the time to ask because they initially made it way to sweet again, despite asking for 25% sweetness. All in all, this tea spot is so-so. The family and I stopped by after visiting Gilroy Gardens. The drinks were refreshing, nice ambience, and good customer service. I got the spicy watermelon smoothie and soy chicken wings. The drink had a good balance of sweetness and an extra kick of spicy. The wings were bigger than I expected and the flavor tasted similar to the soy wings you'd get in San Jose. The kids enjoyed their colorful drinks and popcorn chicken, and was occupied with the games provided on the shelves. Usually this place has been pretty satisfactory but recently they changed the time they are able to serve food. We came in 20 minutes before close and waited 5 minutes in line when they finally took our order they told us they closed the kitchen and have stopped serving food. We came in the week before and this closing food policy is new and very disappointing. I hope they change this and are able to serve customers food until they close which is not an unreasonable request. I would not come in expecting to get food if you come in before they close. Don't think I'll come back ever again if they continue to change their process weekly. read more

Tea Leaf in Gilroy is by far the best spot in town. From the welcoming staff, to the creative drinks, and classic favorites. Tea leaf has the best Boba in the area. Made fresh daily. There food is second to none. Always fresh ingredients and you can tell they really pour their heart into their work. The delicious home cooked style meals are what keep me coming back, almost daily if I could. I've been coming here consistently over a year. It is by far the best place to get coffee or tea and everything in between. I bring my family all time and recommend to all my friends. I ordered chicken Banh mi, fried tofu with basil, soy sauce chicken wings with fries, and for drinks I had jasmine green with strawberry, basil seed, mint, and boba. Everything was delicious! The fried tofu was crispy and had tons of basil. The soy sauce chicken was cooked to perfection and it was juicy. The banh mi had Fresh crispy bread, fresh veggies, and flavorful chicken. I've been a very big fan of this place since last year when it first opened in August. I remember my first drink and how highly I thought of this place. I soon became a regular and was very happy with my service every time I went into TeaLeaf. I went in today to order a rose milk tea with honey boba, one of my favorites at this shop. The place looked great from the inside, the staff looked well equipped, and I noticed a new manager who was very nice. As I was waiting for my boba, the staff constantly yelled and forgot my order-- as if it was a bit hard to remember. I thought it was a bit unprofessional as what would their work ethic be if it was a busy day?Would my boba have come out being wrong if some sort of miscommunication happened? I was one of the only customers in the store and all of the staff members had heard me loud and clear, so I thought my order was a bit obvious. The staff member making my boba was a girl who did not have her hair tied back, something I was a bit weary of. Is that not a health code violation? But then again, what do I know, I don't own a boba shop. As I got my boba I picked up a straw and went into my car and took the first sip. It was way too strong for it to be classified as rose milk tea, as rose milk tea has a bit of a lighter taste regarding flavoring. I got huge chunks of the flavoring in my mouth almost as if the syrup used was too thick and too much of it was put in. I was not a fan and since I paid my good money for this drink, I went inside and asked for them to make it again. I was told I didn't "shake it enough" by whom I presumed was the manager, which might have been true but I don't believe boba is supposed to be made so its flavoring floats around its drink and waits for it to be mixed in with the milk and the tea. But then again, I'm no boba, milk tea expert. The staff happily fixed my drink with no extra fee and the manager was very polite about it. When the staff finished fixing my drink, the manager handed me my new drink and a straw. This is what really got to me; the manager handed me my drink, placed it on the counter, then gave me a straw that was inside the wrapper, took the straw out of the wrapper, and then put the straw in the drink/broke the seal with the straw. The annoying germophobe I am came out and was a bit furious. The manager was then politely waiting for me to try the drink in front of her to make sure I was happy with the taste. I knew I should have spoken up about the straw, but I held myself back. I was very pleased and appreciative towards the staff's cooperation with changing/fixing my drink, but these incidents really ticked me off. The drink still doesn't taste right and I believe I wasted my time going here. I definitely will not be recommending this boba shop to anyone. I'm very upset at how this shop has ended up. read more

So I told you I'm addicted to Boba so when I heard there was a new place around the corner from my eye doctor I had to try it! They did not have the lactose free creamer but they did have almond milk - which is a healthier option so I tried it. It just doesn't have to smooth taste as the creamer - it was a little chalky and very sweet. The cashier noticed I did not like it so they were nice enough to make me another plain green tea with boba. Tried this place for the first time. It was amazing. The staff was so friendly and attentive. The place is super cute and clean, you can also tell they use fresh fruit on most of their drinks. I ordered the Mango spicy smoothie, omg it was delicious. We also ordered some side of fries really good, their organic lemonade really good as well. It's rare that I get to have good boba living in the area that I do, and when the craving hit I was happy to find this lovely place!!! My sister and I both got drinks and they were excellent (i really like that you can customize even the sweetness level because I don't have much of a sweet tooth). We also went for a Bahn Mi and the basil chicken. The Bahn Mi was on the small side and didn't have much pork or other fillings, but it was very tasty! What the Bahn Mi lacked in portion size, we got with the basil chicken, though. While there, we had a couple friends join us (we had posted on social media and I think they were also hit with the craving, so we invited them to join us). We were there for a while and we had lovely chats with the owner and she was very sweet! Aside from great customer service and tasty food, the space is clean and decorated nicely.
