We were here at 1:15pm on a Thursday and there was one customer being served. We checked out the flavors board and stared at the flavors in the tubs in the display cases. With over 40 flavors, I narrowed down my choice to three and decided on scoop of coconut pineapple on a cone. The lady was scooping the ice cream and forming the ball and I was shocked how big the scoop she put on the cone. It was so big that she said I better put in a cup. That scoop could have been two or even three scoops at some shops. The ice cream was rich and tasty. Will thank my friend the next time I see him for the recommendation. Have to come back for some ice cream again.

The Ube Latte is my usual go-to, so the fact that he remembered that made me smile. This was my second visit to Tea Villa, with my first being at the Milpitas location before COVID. Unfortunately, my experience at the Hayward location left much to be desired. The first challenge was parking. This location is surrounded by newly built townhouses, and the parking spaces in the back are reserved for residents. There's no designated parking lot for Tea Villa, so you'll need to find street parking, which can be difficult given the high traffic in the area. Inside, the ambiance is quite nice--open, clean, and inviting. However, getting to the bathroom was like navigating a maze. You have to go through multiple doors, and it's easy to accidentally try to open the wrong ones, though thankfully they're locked. My partner and I ordered the villa chicken, spam musubi, guava mojito, Oreo milk tea, and a build-your-own tea with rose jasmine tea and honey boba. The Villa Chicken was the highlight of our order. The popcorn chicken was well-cooked, cut into small pieces, and delicious. The spam musubi was a disappointment. The portion was small, parts of the rice were hard, and it's overpriced for what you get. I wouldn't recommend it; there are better options elsewhere. The Guava Mojito, unfortunately, was very watered down. I could barely taste the guava or mint--it mostly tasted like sparkling water. And lastly the Rose Jasmine Tea w/ Honey Boba ended up tasting just like plain jasmine tea. The honey boba was fuzzy, like it had been sitting too long, which made it unappetizing. Unless you're specifically craving their villa chicken, I wouldn't recommend this place. The food and drinks overall were disappointing, and there are better boba spots in the area. read more

I am so glad this place opened up here in Hayward! I've been coming by about 3-4 times a week usually after class to get my boba fix. The drinks are fantastic. My favorite is the Jasmine Thai Tea. Their fried chicken boxes and tofu are really good! On my trip to TeaVilla yesterday, I was pleased to find out they do catering portions. It was perfect because I was craving some calamari and I was able to kill 2 birds with one stone ordering a couple gallon container bags of their delicious drinks to bring over to my friend Joey's potluck yesterday. Prices were reasonable and comparable to others, but they seem to have set a higher standard for themselves. Their food and drink offerings seem to be of a higher quality than other places I've gotten boba at in and around Hayward. There's a certain taste of "freshness" in everything I've ordered thus far.
