Driving by daily, I noticed a new boba spot and decided to give it a try. The menu was limited, but since taro is my favorite, I opted for the taro drink. Unfortunately, my excitement turned to disappointment quickly. When I tried to take my first sip, the straw got stuck. I expected it to be the boba, but it was actually large chunks of taro. Unlike other boba places where the taro is either mashed into a paste or ground into small pieces, the taro in my drink was about 1" x 1.5" and too hard to break up. I ended up drinking just the liquid and eating the taro chunks with a spoon. The drink itself was mediocre and not very cold, despite ordering it as usual. The boba was also disappointing--more hard than chewy, indicating it was likely pre-made and stored in the fridge overnight. Service was slow, taking about 8 minutes to get my drink even though I was the only customer and there were two workers. At other boba places, I usually get my drink within a minute or, at most, 10 minutes if it's crowded. The cost was another downside. I paid $9 and some change, including a $1 tip, which is significantly more expensive than the $6 I usually pay for a taro milk tea at the boba place across the street from my house, which also offers better quality. I don't think I'll be coming back. Boba spots can be hit or miss, and while some have specialty drinks that attract repeat customers, this place didn't impress me. They do offer a unique non-alcoholic boba tea with beer, but it doesn't sound appealing to me. I could be wrong, but it just doesn't sound like something I'd enjoy. read more

I had a bad experience here during my first visit. I do hope they improve. I have provided feedback to them directly. 1) Drinks took a very long time to be ready. I had 2 drinks and there were only a couple customers ahead of me - some seemed impatient waiting as well. There were at least 2-3 workers in the front managing the register + making drinks. It took at least 15 minutes from my first drink to get the second one. The lady making it kept redoing the drink for some reason. I was getting very frustrated and saw her talking to her coworkers, moving VERY slowly. I was about to go up to her and ask her to please seal the drink. While she was making that drink of mines, another worker cranked out 3+ drinks during that time. Do the math, if it takes this girl about 20+ minutes to make 1 drink, are you really making any $ if you're spending that same amount on her hourly wage? When she was about to finish making the drink she told me boba was gone... I was getting pissed and just opted for whatever is left. 2) The drinks are very subpar. The peachy mango I had tasted like syrup mixed with VERY bitter green tea. It was terrible. The boba was hard to chew. I wanted to toss my drink but spent $9 on it (including tip which I regret) forced me to finish it. The taro potted plant drink was VERY diluted and tasted like powder was used for this. This also cost $9...the agar/crystal boba it came with tasted old 3) The price is too dang high for the subpar quality. With so many boba spots around that use fresh ingredients, better quality, and slightly more affordable, this place is a hard pass for me. 4) Parking can be a challenge. It's in SOHAY with lots of new housing developments. We parked on the street and saw broken glass on the ground. Yeah, I'm definitely not parking here again. read more

I got to stop by with a large group of friends and our kids. The location nice and pretty spacious. We were all really comfortable hanging out there.There were a good amount of drink options that looked really good. It was really refreshing on a hot day and I dranked everything. Our friend got the popcorn chicken which we tried a piece and it was made really well. Overall I would recommend as there an option for everyone. For me I mainly like the milk teas at boba spots so this place hit the spot. My wife on the other hand liked the fruity drinks here. read more

The drink itself is good but the restaurant is filthy. The floors have not been mopped. The chairs are stained and black! The countertops are nasty. Customer service is lacking no one greeted me they came up to the counter and asked "Are you ready to order?" i saw this new spot when i was driving down on mission the other day and decided to check it out today! it's located by the new apartments and you'll need to find street parking. i also didn't see this listed anywhere on yelp yet, but they are open from 11AM-9PM everyday. there wasn't anyone in front of us when we arrived, and we came here around 7PM. they have a lot of drink and food options; i didn't order any food this visit but i will next time. i ordered the taro potted plants (which was one of the options under the top 10). i got it with boba and 75% sweetness. overall, the drink was good! 75% sweetness was enough for me, since i don't really like my drinks to be that sweet. it's topped with oreos, creama and a mint leaf. i enjoyed what i got! the inside is quite spacious and they have a good amount of seating. they also have a digital menu with a QR code, along with a physical menu at the register. overall, i had a good experience here at tea villa and i will be returning one day! :) i'm glad a new boba spot opened up that's close to home! read more

Went there for a drink and popcorn chicken yesterday around 4pm with my son. Relatively slow with only two other customers besides us and three workers. We placed our order and my son had a seat. I popped over to Paris Baguette did some pastry shopping( took about 15minutes) came back , drink was ready but the chicken was not. I asked the cashier about our order, first excuse "new cook". Waited another 5 minutes asked again for an update: second excuse "lots of on-line orders". No order should take 25 minutes. We were eventually given our to go order: No bag, no skewers and no napkins. I asked for skewers and the young man pointed to a self- serve/help area. Sure didn't earn the tip I gave them. I would love to support local dining since we are walking distance but I have to say I could have went somewhere else with better parking,paid less and got better service. The drinks were good and it is a big location but very minimal seating. The one thing that does not make sense to me is why do they close the kitchen at 6pm when the shop closes at 9pm. I went in after dropping off my daughter to volleyball and wanted to get a snack around 6ish, went and ordered popcorn chicken and they told us that the kitchen was closed. That is usually the time where people are either looking for a small snack before dinner or having dinner and they choice to support the business but does not fulfill the customers wants. I def loathe the new buildings up & down Mission, but my family always gives into boba shops lol. The service was soooo slow. There was one worker, so I made an exception... But then another worker came & it was still slow as hell. I'm not sure if only one of the workers knows how to make drinks or what the situations was. On top of that, she messed up part of the order. So not only did we have to wait even longer for our drinks, they forgot boba in one of them... It was a sad car ride home. *The drinks would probably be good if you got them at a decent time. Tried coming here few more times because my man likes coming. But honestly, each visit is frustrating in different ways. Today the $4.00 piece of musubi tasted awful... tasted like fake spam. Gross. Overpriced. We used the new touch screen order screens today...why is it asking for tips? I ordered a drink the way it comes and added egg pudding. Whomever put my drink together omitted the boba that comes with it. So we paid for extra topping without receiving what it came with. We ordered one spicy chicken and one regular chicken. When we asked which was which the lady said "it's hard to tell once they're cooked, sorry". So I had to taste it even though I dislike spice to figure out which one was my son's. Yes the blender issue seems to be fixed, but other issues need work. Lots of potential, but too much frustration for the cost. Prior visits wait times were ridiculously long. Cups are always given to us sticky. Dogs are always in the establishment. Today a lady holding a dog was helping herself to the napkins with her dog in her hands.... The owner was standing right there more concerned with her photographer in the dining room photographing her drinks and food. Because my man likes one specific drink here we will return... Spacious space inside btw this is located next to townhomes. So a good location for people to just walk and have snacks here. It is their soft opening so all their menu is not updated and the old price is outdated. It's basically expensive compare to what I see on the menu. I tried the pop corn chicken, curly fries & calamari. The calamari was not good and it was hard to bite on and feel rubbery. The cooked brought out my food she was very nice and have a nice smile. And the owner was welcoming. I will come back to try the drinks. read more

Hands down the BEST boba place in Hayward! They are in the works of their soft opening but the service was incredibly nice especially in a place like Silicon Valley! Definitely so refreshing to learn the progress of the place! Also, for a soft opening the quality is amazing and I can't wait for their final product! Definitely recommend giving this place a chance! My kids loves coming here. The food is good and they already have their favorite drinks. My favorite is the scoop of mangos.

Staff is really nice and the place seems clean. Their menu feels a little confusing but there's variety which is great. I think they're always understaffed bc it does take quite a long time to get your order. I normally wait for 20-30 mins for 2 drinks. Wish they had more staff - hopefully soon! My favorite new boba and popcorn chicken spot! Especially bc the popcorn chicken is made from scratch and marinated in their homemade seasoning - makes my mouth water just thinking about it. I also tried the matcha brûlée tea with light sugar and it was so tasty! The sweetness level was just right and deliciously creamy - better than any other boba drink I've had in a long time. Can't wait to go back and try the other boba teas although I'm likely to keep getting the matcha brûlée again every time bc it was that good! Overall, the ambiance was modern and relaxed but the friendly staff and quick service were the highlight. Not a fan. There are definitely MUCH better boba tea places in the neighborhood like Once Tea and Sunright. For a place that has "Tea" in its name, they know nothing about good tea. Most of their drinks are overly sweet and tastes artificial. Anyone who knows good boba milk tea would tell you it's all about the quality of the tea flavor and this place definitely doesn't hit that mark. For almost $10 a drink, it pretty much just tastes like sugar water with barely any tea flavor. Word of advice, great boba tea places don't need the additional scoop of ice cream or puff cream in the drink because it's all about the tea flavor. That being said, I'm sure there are others out there who would disagree with me, but this place is definitely more catered towards people who just wants an overly sweet dessert drink versus actually liking the flavor of good tea. I was fully satisfied by my order: The owner allowed me to try several teas which was really nice of her, and I thoroughly enjoyed my snacks. The popcorn chicken had a really nice taste to it, and I'm a huge fan of " elevated"curly fries. For all the elite yelp reviewers out there- it's a bit distressing to see you nitpick every single detail of this shop. Most of these reviewers like to talk big and get that elite status- they just love to "consume", not knowing how much it takes to start a business in the food service industry. It's easy to say this sucked and that sucked... I challenge these people to start something of your own. Talk is cheap. Actions are worth more. Got 2 boba drinks Oreo milk and milk brûlée. I was surprised that there was not that much boba in the drink. Usually when we order boba drinks there's a good amount of boba and this was not the case.
