Great place!! Great atmosphere!! Its new, classy and a great place to just chill. The people there are very nice and friendly and service are always fast. You will not be able to find a bubble tea place better than this any where near there. I've tried their taro bubble tea, original bubble tea and their yogurt flavor bubble tea and all of them were delicious. It is a must try.. and while you are there they also have sweets and asian food too. I've tried their spring rolls and they tasted great but the price for 3 spring rolls was alittle extreme.. about $4 read more

Found this place on my search for bubble tea which was also close to Boston Market so a plus. I've gone in here several times before I moved back to GA and after trying several places in buffalo and Rochester I would say this is one of the best ones. They were remodeling when I last went so can't comment on decor but I do love the little comfy seating areas and the laid back atmosphere. Their teas are pretty good but their tapiocas are always not cooked properly. In every cup I get, there's always some that's too hard to chew. They're small and hard - probably not cooked or boiled enough. Cups are also always very sticky or drenched with tea on the outside when I receive them. Makes it gross to hold and I have to grab napkins to hold the cups. Would suggest for workers to wipe down any major spillage on the cups. read more

The bubble tea is always excellent here. I don't usually order the appetizers but I did once. The appetizers are a little on the pricier side with small portion sizes. The setting is very chill. Try the taro flavor mixed with any fruit flavor. Omg so yummy. Taro is similar to a vanilla taste but even better. It's a chill spot- I liked it more (about 1.5) years ago bc it was more cozy. After 7 years living in Buffalo, Tea Leaf is still my favorite bubble tea in town. I've tried Kung Fu, Tai Chi, let alone other famous brands in NYC Gongcha, Boba Guys, I always find myself crave for Tea Leaf. You can definitely tell the real rounded malty tea taste, in top of milk and delicious fruit flavors to choose from. They have just the right balance of classic tea and creamy fruity taste. If you leave the drink for a while, you'll also realize it does NOT separate powdery layers like other bubble tea do. I would recommend this place to have more cashiers than one, and add more new flavors or give it a try with ombré drinks. read more

I've been here on more than a few occasions especially to kill time before or after a movie at the AMC next door. Overall it's alright. Staff is friendly enough but not overly friendly. The drinks taste good enough but if you have ventured to NYC you will likely be more disappointed than satisfied. However that said it's definitely worth going to occasionally or at least once with a small group of friends over the weekend to over load in gossip and sugar simultaneously. There are plenty of choices and the desserts and snacks aren't half bad. What gives it only a 3 is that there is simply nothing special bout this place. Kinda like taking a friend to prom. We've been coming here for years, off and on. The bubble teas, which is what we always get, have been consistent since we found Tea Leaf. The array of flavors is nearly overwhelming, and they'll gladly combine them, so if you like them the first time, you'll be back many more, experimenting. I've never had bubble tea before, so I can't really compare that part of the place to anywhere else, but I can say that I had a great lemon/mango black tea creation (with the "bubbles" in the bottom ... which is just as strange as you think it is). The tea was great. The place also has a great assortment of menu options for those light snack items and hot drinks, which is refreshing for the less adventurous. The place itself was great, too. Nice atmosphere, and great for discussions. I held a book club meeting there, and it was really easy to sink into the area and just talk. The tea is so good here, even without the bubbles the combination of flavors here are endless. I love this cafe! I wasn't crazy about the spring rolls though. I didn't try desserts yet, but I am looking forward to trying them!The service is a little slow, but when you get your tea it's always right on time! Once you get your drink, you forget all about the wait. I usually try to mix different combinations of flavors together Everytime I go and try asking the cashier if the recommend anything, they have great insight on what flavors pair well, that you may not of thought paired well together. Tea Leaf Cafe is probably the best place to get boba drinks, or 'bubble tea' as it's called in the east coast, but it's also generally pretty pricey ($3.50-5). Especially when you see all of their powder canisters behind the counter. I have yet to find a better place, so this will have to do for now. ): There is also an extensive menu for snacks as well as desserts (cheesecake, chocolate cake, etc.). The service varies sometimes. Some days they can be pretty slow at making their drinks and other times they're good. There's plenty of table space and a couple couches, so it's great for catching up with friends and maybe for light studying since there's free wi-fi (sometimes the music is too loud to study). Love the choices-- teas, boba- milk & fruit flavors, and a coffee menu! Early grey with lychee jelly add on was good in flavor & not too sweet but was served little warm even though it was iced. Coconut with lychee jelly was also good but little on the sweet side. Clearly have a wide array to choose from. Came in here for the first time about a week ago. It was quiet when I first came in but after a while it quickly filled up, the line going out the door, which means the place got extremely loud. I would say get familiar with the peak times if you are looking at this place for a hangout spot bc the vibe changes in the blink of an eye. I got a mango smoothie with pomegranate pop bubbles. It was delicious!! The smoothies only come with tea in it, which i'm sure is just to water it down, but I didn't mind because the green tea I added to mine tasted amazing and gave the smoothie such a unique taste. Delicious as it was, I give three stars because: 1) The Thai Tea my friend ordered was probably the worst i've ever had. The flavor was off and it wasn't nearly as sweet as Thai Tea should be. (I know there probably aren't many Thai Tea options in Buffalo but that's such a staple item for a place like this to mess up). 2) I just couldn't get passed how dirty the place was. The floors were black and sooo sticky, it really didn't seem like anyone bothered to clean the place all day. Me and my friend hung out for about an hour and a half and I don't think I saw anyone wipe a table once the entire time. The bubble tea comes with tapioca gummies on the bottom that slip up through your straw which I had to get used to. Ever since a friend of mine introduced me to Bubble tea a few years back, I have become a bubble tea junkie. So when I moved to Buffalo, one of the first things I did was I searched for any place with this nectar of the gods (if you're not a fan, then you are missing out!) Not only did I find this place, but so far one of the best places to get Bubble Tea out side of Flushing, Queens NY! SO MANY VARIETIES of not just Bubble tea, but of tea in general. They even have your run of the mill southern sweet tea! This place is always busy, mostly students from the campus near by, but there is a generous amount of seating. And the decor is pretty laid back with a touch of Asian fusion mixed in. Its a decent place to go grab a drink and a snack with friends, or just a refreshing beverage while you finish up some work. It can get very busy and very loud during the weekends and evenings, but for me that's just a sign that this place is doing something right! Also, it is conveniently located next to a movie theater, for pre- or post-movie going hang outs. So if you need a break from your usual skinny latte or overly pretentious coffee house, I recommend checking this place out! read more

The 1 star comes out due to the ambiance. The leather sofa and dim light was fine. But that's all the pro for this place. OK. Here are the cons: 1. The service is unbelievably slow. I think the man making bubble tea is a green hand. We have waited for over 20 mins for 4 bubble teas. We are killing time before watching movies in AMC(which I suppose is why most people come here) but we almost ran late because of this server. 2. The service manner. They always kept poker face and never squeezed a smile, never providing any suggestion. When I asked if they could punch my Tea Leaf Card(I probably won't use that card any more) for us four cups, the counter said they could only punch for one transaction. Never heard of that before. I have tasted bubble tea in Minneapolis, NYC and China, NO OTHER STORE did like this one. 3. The bubble tea itself. My Japanese Green Tea was just as unsweetened as water! The bubble was really of low quality and too powdery. And a customer even asked to return bubble tea because it tasted like perfume! I guess this store could be open because it's located in Buffalo and near AMC theater. If this store opened in NYC, I guess it could be closed within a week. I've been coming here for a number of years, ever since I was in high school. It's a quick and easy place to get to and meet people. This is my go to place if I want to meet someone after work and get a drink. It's right next to The Library and a stone's throw away from the AMC. It's a great go-to place either before or after a movie. For the most part, I really like Tea Leaf. I haven't tried much from their food menu except edamame which was nothing to get excited over, but their bubble tea wins the show. I usually stick to the same old drinks when I go there because I know they work. The two sure-to-be-okay flavors are Pomegranate and Kiwi. The taste is super sugary but the flavors work well with the tea. I recently tried the avocado bubble tea (because I'm an avocado junkie) and it was so horrendous that I ended up dumping it all out. I learned my lesson and went back to Pomegranate. Pricing is okay. You end up hitting around four dollars for a regular, but it's a specialty drink so I give them some slack. They also provide a loyalty card where for every drink you buy, you get a punch in your card. After the tenth drink, you get a free one. Yay! Free! I also tried their hot chocolate as well and it's so good. Super sweet and intense. I think they add the ghiradelli chocolate to a hot chocolate mix so if you're ever craving chocolate, you'll get your fix here and then more. Couple minor gripes here: everyone and their mother knows about this place. It's hit or miss busy on some nights, but when a movie lets out, you can expect to see a crowd here. They also seem to only have three people working at all times which means service can sometimes be slow. But for the most part, each person that works there does a great job at serving whoever comes through. Besides the crappy avocado flavor, I've yet to have a bad drink. They recently did some renovations to the building, but honestly, I don't see much of a difference. It doesn't seem any more spacious to me... Finally, overall cleanliness depends on the amount of people that come in. If it's slow, it's clean. If it's busy, just prepare yourself for some sticky tables. read more

I love Kung Fu Tea at UB but Tea Leaf has better selection of regular and mixed flavors. Their bubble tea is a little on the sweet side but you can adjust to your taste. I got the taro coconut combination with tapioca pearls and rainbow jelly. It was delicious and beyond my expectations. I would definitely come back for more bubble tea, at Tea Leaf.
