This is hands-down the best Boba shop in Seattle. I'm extremely picky about pearls, and this place does it right. The consistency is perfect. They're soft, chewy, and sweet. The tea is made fresh with loose leaf, and they use actual real fruit in their fruit tea drinks! Majority of other places use syrups and powder, not here! I love that they use bamboo straws as well. My favorite is the strawberry tea then the passion fruit orange tea. I get them both without and sugar, and it's still delicious! The place of small and only has a small bench that seats two. My first time trying Tea King and everything was 5/5. I was a bit skeptical because some boba shops that have been popping up in Seattle tend to be very gimmicky with lots of artificial syrups and non-natural ingredients. However, Tea King uses all natural ingredients like fresh fruits to make their syrups for their fruit teas and ceremonial grade matcha. The shop itself is along Dexter and is very cute -- it achieves the "cute" factor that many new boba shops are going for but also has quality drinks. I got the matcha latte with boba, 25% sweetness (if you are a person that doesn't like your drinks too sweet I'd say this is enough). Note that their syrup sweetener is house made brown sugar syrup! My drink was perfectly creamy, and for non-dairy eaters they have soy milk or oat milk substitutes. The matcha flavor in the matcha latte was strong as well, and the boba was the perfect texture. Best boba in Seattle! I mainly drink non-caffeinated drinks and this is one of the only boba shops in Seattle with a good variety of non-caffeinated options. Sorry to be that guy, but man, despite the hype, this boba was just alright/subpar. After craving something sweet all day, my wife and I were excited to try out this new boba joint snuggled near SLU. I ordered the TK Milk Tea and asked for 50% sugar. It was SO diluted, and it was basically like drinking water with a tint of tea. The boba wasn't bad, but the drink was just so watery. I hope the workers just don't put in water in the drink to dilute the sugar levels, that's the worst! My wife ordered 30% sugar, and one can imagine how watery that was. Although Tea King is a little far from downtown, it's an amazing spot and I'd recommend giving it a try! It's a small shop with no seating in Westlake, but they do have retail parking right around the corner. I ordered a Watermelon fruit tea with Lychee Jelly, which was the right choice! The boba was very firm but not undercooked. It was too firm for my taste but I don't know if it's because the employees were new to making it or if it's because that's what they normally do. The boba should have been sweeter. This drink tasted like a dieter's boba. The location is small (not a good or bad thing, just something readers might want to be aware of). The atmosphere was cute. The flowers reminded me of a high school graduation or a memorial. It truly felt like a family owned small business. This little boba shop is a hidden gem in the west lake neighborhood! My boyfriend and I decided to try this tea shop after a walk in SLU and we were extremely satisfied with our drinks. Although the prices were a little on the steeper side, the quality of the drinks definitely did not disappoint. We ordered Grape Clouds and OO-Plum for our drinks, and absolutely loved it. We could tell that they use high quality, fresh ingredients! The grape clouds drink tasted like blended fresh grapes, and not too sweet either which was perfect. I typically order my boba drinks at 50% sweetness and am definitely glad with this one, it was really sweet even at 50%...although it is brown sugar so duh! I had the strawberry tea with normal sweetness and normal ice and it was okay. I honestly couldn't much taste the strawberry, it mostly tasted like tea and it was a little bitter. I should have gotten it sweeter than normal, I just assumed it would be a little sweeter because typically fruit tea at boba shops is sweet enough. I'm from the SF Bay and NYC: so I'm not unfamiliar with boba doing their crazy inflation thing. But I would have never expected it from Tea King at some absurd level. Ordered two drinks - large with a topping, and the total came out to nearly $15? Usually I'm happy to pay that price, but the tea felt watered down. My drink had grass jelly and it tasted like slightly bitter water with a silken tofu consistency - unlike the refreshing taste I usually have at other boba places. I usually enjoy supporting non-chain boba stores (not even sure if they are a regional chain or not), but it seems like drinks over at the nearest happy lemon should cost $45 if we wanted "good" boba. read more

Fresh fruit alert! I've yet to see fresh fruit in Boba around Seattle. Usually it's a dry mix, so seeing my drink get made with real slices of mango was pretty exciting. Also a first - the sago boba, which are tiny, clear boba balls. The drink is a mango purée with coconut cream in the center and topped off. Sadly I didn't get a picture of the Watermelon flavor my boyfriend ordered. Attention: real chunks of watermelon were also used in this drink. Of the two, watermelon was my favorite. Boba: The balls were not fully cooked or it was cooked and the ice bath caused them to harden. Bit plain when I bit into it. Either way, their neighbor 20 oz got them beat here.
