    Let me start by saying the booking process and Sara in particular were great. Unfortunately the moving process went downhill from there. There were several issues with my move: 1) hired 4 movers, only 3 showed up due to miscommunication 2) one didn't wear a mask despite rules in my building 3) two of the employees argued repeatedly throughout the move about where to put things, how to assemble. Very unprofessional and as a result, damaged one of my pieces 4) two bedroom pieces less than a year old were damaged by the wrapping You would think that the lead/manager/owner Adam, would be apologetic about the above. Instead he was very nonchalant, first offered nothing then 3 cents per pound and acted like he was doing me a favor. Including when I described how two of the movers fought over how to assemble a marble table top with one leaving the other holding the heavy item. I was concerned it would drop. Well, guess what? There is a large chip on a very expensive table despite my repeated urging to be careful as it was fragile. Any company with professionalism would be embarrassed that two employees were arguing and as a result damaged a client's pieces thousands of dollars in damages. All this and I tipped them well, got the sodas, etc. I will never, ever recommend this company and if you like your furniture would suggest you look elsewhere.

    Local move, Bronx to North Westchester. Bad from start to finish. We were overcharged for their inexperience, furniture ruined and 60 year old molding and refinished floors destroyed! Movers were 90 minutes late, the back door on the truck wouldn't open so everything was loaded and unloaded on the truck through a small side door. In my experience, all big furniture goes in first, not with these clowns! It looked like a mess. Then they proceed to tell us everything wouldnt fit, good job surveying, charged me for another trip. Even though we told them all boxes and bags that didn't fit could be taken in our pick up truck. The worst part, they scratched up my new wood floors by dragging furniture, I have damages on two pieces of furniture ( so far, that I know of ). For the price they charged me, the conditions in which they performed the work... disgusting! STAY AWAY.

    I want to post an update to my prior review…read more As bad as the moving experience was, Piece of Cake Movers completely changed my view when it came time to address the issues I raised afterward. Emily handled my concerns with professionalism, fairness, and real diligence. She could not have been nicer. She listened, took the issues seriously, and worked through them in a way that felt fair and respectful. My original concerns about the move itself remain what they were. But I also recognize that any business of this size can occasionally have a bad crew or a bad experience in the field. What matters is how the company responds when that happens. Here, the response after the move was excellent. Credit is due where credit is due: the post-move customer service, especially from Emily, was outstanding. For that reason, I am giving the company 5 stars for how it handled the aftermath and resolved the issues. I will use them the next time I move. Emily was that good. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Thank you, Emily.

I had my purse with $980 in the zippered compartment in one of our bathrooms where we were storing the stuff we didn't want moved. The movers were told this on multiple instances. The movers had zero reason to be in that room and did not ask permission to enter it. Had they done so we would have asked them to use the other bathroom. I know the movers were in there because the toilet seat was up and there was urine in the toilet when I went in. I am female and my fiancé is completely blind and has to sit to pee and doesn't put up the seat. When I went to tip the movers, the cash was gone from my purse. No one besides myself, my fiancé and the movers were inside the apartment since I'd taken out the cash the previous evening. I informed the company immediately. They did nothing about it, claiming they questioned the crew who denied it. As if they'd confess to stealing about a grande. Please learn from my mistake and either avoid this company. Or at least keep your cash on your person and lock any doors the crew should not be entering. Personally this is the last time I will be using them as trust should be a priority particularly with a company you are handing your belonging. In case it helps, the head of the crew was named Alik (that spelling may be incorrect) and the license plate number on the truck was 79759NG.

I want to provide enough context so anyone considering Solidarity Movers can make an informed decision. Overall, this was one of the better moves I've had, but not one that warrants the 5-star reviews I see here. My husband and I moved from MA to NY due to family circumstances. The move was already stressful before it began, which is relevant because Solidarity was recommended by a friend who had a great experience with them. Given some poor experiences I've had with movers in the past, I felt confident choosing them. Unfortunately, things started off rocky. I completed a video walkthrough, received an initial quote, and then requested a revision. After that, communication stalled. Multiple follow-ups went unanswered, and I couldn't even get confirmation that my request was being worked on. After about a day of silence while other companies were responding consistently, I was ready to book elsewhere and left a review reflecting my experience. Within minutes, owner Zak called me. He was understanding, professional, and genuinely seemed to care about my concerns. Communication improved immediately, I received the revised quote, and their pricing felt fair, so I booked the move. A couple of weeks before the move, I reached out to confirm everything was still on track and asked about payment. I was told, in writing by Mike, that the remaining balance would be due "upon completion of your move." To me, that clearly meant after delivery. The move was scheduled for June 19 with overnight delivery on June 20. The crew was originally expected between 12 PM and 2 PM but arrived around 4 PM due to traffic. Traffic happens, and I had no issue with the delay itself. The crew was polite, worked efficiently, and seemed to handle our belongings with care. Unfortunately, this is where my experience started to decline. While packing, I overheard two crew members make a joke about my husband and me. It wasn't the worst thing I've ever heard, but it was disappointing to become the subject of a gay joke, especially from a company that publicly projects queer allyship. I chose not to make an issue of it, but another customer may have felt differently. Once loading was complete, the foreman informed me that the remaining balance was due immediately. This directly contradicted the written communication I had received. When I raised the issue, Mike acknowledged there had been a miscommunication but insisted I still had to pay on the spot. What made the interaction frustrating was how dismissive he came across. He stated this was standard procedure and said he would investigate the miscommunication, but unless there is another Mike, the miscommunication originated with him. Rather than create additional stress for myself, I paid the balance and moved on. To be clear, I still tipped the crew generously because they worked hard. By the end of the move, they had received $1,200 total in gratuity, or $400 per mover. The next day, delivery was delayed again due to traffic, but the unloading process itself was quick and organized. The crew followed instructions, reassembled our storage bed, and got everything into the house efficiently. After unloading, I was asked to sign paperwork stating everything had been delivered without damage. This struck me as odd because we hadn't unpacked a single box yet, so there was no realistic way to verify that. Like many people at the end of a move, I signed because I was exhausted and just wanted the process finished. While unpacking later, I discovered our $1,500 credenza had been damaged. Two interior shelves were broken, one completely split in half. Several glass items were also broken in transit. Nothing irreplaceable, but damage nonetheless. Could I file a claim? Sure. But after an already stressful interstate move, I don't have the time or energy to go through another lengthy process. Instead, I'm leaving this review so others can make an informed decision. Despite everything, I would still consider recommending Solidarity Movers, especially for a local move. The crew worked hard, and this was far from the worst moving experience I've had. However, the communication issues, payment confusion, dismissive handling of that confusion, inappropriate comment, and damage to our belongings prevent me from rating the experience higher. If you're reading reviews because you're planning a move and trying to make the best decision possible, I hope this helps. Wishing you the best of luck!

They scheduled a zoom/facetime walk-thru of my apartment to see what I needed and to give me a better quote. I had started packing already and got all my own boxes so it was easy to see what I had left. What I really liked was the 'no BS' hidden fees. It was one price that wouldn't change, no matter the hours or added last minute box. Of course my move was scheduled and it had to snow. Thankfully this didn't stop them. 4 guys showed up right on time (during a snow storm on a friday morning rush hour in the city). They walked thru and got a game plan, then brought up all the blankets and plastic wrap and got to work. TVs were dismounted and put in boxes, mattresses were put in boxes as well. The amount of blankets they used to wrap my furniture made me so happy. While they took their time, they were still hustling - running from the truck to the apartment. Once we got to my new place, they covered my stairs with runners and wore plastic booties to ensure my floors weren't messed up. I wish I had bought the wall mount for my TVs for my new place, because they offered to set me up. The only thing I was disappointed about was that my couch didn't fit thru the garage entry so it was left in the garage. I wish they had tried thru the front door but they were adamant that it still wouldn't fit. After 7 hours, I wasn't going to push them. Regardless, would 100% recommend Veterans Movers and also hope Roadway doesn't ruin this small-business. I wish I could remember the 4 guys that helped me move to give them a shoutout! Thx!!!

    So glad that I went with Intense Movers instead of some of the other more well-known companies…read more They were punctual, crew size was just right for a quick and efficient move, and their captain Lane was extremely friendly and professional. For reference, Intense Movers moved me from a 1 bedroom 4th floor walk-up to a 2 bedroom over 100 blocks away. They showed up promptly at 9am and were done by 1pm. None of my property was damaged and they left no mess behind. Also, it's great to support small and local businesses whenever possible. Highly recommend.

I did appreciate the heads-up text, but on one of the most stressful days of your life, it's worth noting - especially as it was early in the morning. More importantly, I was under the impression that loading the truck was part of the service I hired Intense Movers to provide. Nope. Instead, that responsibility was completely handed off to my partner, who stayed with the truck while the movers brought items down for him to load. There was no discussion about this. In fact, it was initially suggested that I use only 2 movers but I requested another to be more efficient. I didn't realize that they assumed my partner was an unpaid 4th. Items with "this side up" stickers were completely disregarded. They brought everything down however they wanted to and handed them off to my partner however was most convenient for them. Also, a couple of guys who were not part of the moving team entered my apartment unannounced, to say hello to the movers. They did not clearly identify themselves, though it seemed like they may have been affiliated with the company. Regardless, having strangers invite themselves into my apartment during the move was pretty inappropriate. Lastly, when it came time for payment, you can only pay by cash or Zelle - which, to me, is sketchy AF. I had planned to send it via Zelle to their company account as instructed. However, the lead mover was insistent that I send the payment directly to him instead, saying he needed to pay his workers immediately. He was so insistent about it that it made me feel really uneasy. In the end, if I could do it all over - I definitely would have chosen someone else who was more professional.
