To say I liked The High Hat is a bit of an understatement. Honestly just thinking about it now I'm…read moresad I don't live in MN and can't go back soon, it's really just that good. First of all we found this place on Yelp and landed on it because of the high reviews and how close it was to our airbnb. I was a bit worried about a wait as it looked popular but with two people we were able to get in pretty quick (less than 5 min wait) on a Sunday morning. It was packed though, so there might be a wait. Space is at a premium in this building and despite being a bit crammed in it was still a great experience overall. Honestly everything was wonderful. The server: A+, ambiance: great, food: holy hell it was delicious. I had some sort of benedict that came on cornbread and was paired with some incredible hashbrowns. Chef's kiss. I also ordered a specialty mocha for fun and it also did not disappoint. This place is a slam dunk for breakfast. If you live in the twin cities and you haven't eaten here yet what are you doing!?

Time. That doesn't even cover how wonderful the staff there is! Just really great people who are keeping it real. No parties larger than 6, this is a hard rule and needs to be respected. I have seen people argue with the owner. It's a small place and he values his staff so much that he will not opt for income over his staff's mental health or stress level. I admire that so much. All the more reason to take your close friend and enjoy a real down to earth local business!!!

This time our family tried the 5th Avenue Minneapolis location right across from Twins Stadium. Quick tip, park in the garage facing the restaurant on the left side. It's an easy elevator ride up and the signage makes it simple. Matt was our server and did an outstanding job. Great service always makes a difference. Beverage options were excellent too, stuff for everyone, mimosas, specialty coffee drinks, and really solid drip coffee. The menu has a great balance of savory and sweet, so naturally we tried both. We had the breakfast sandwich with sausage, a BLT on a croissant, biscuits and gravy, pancakes with fruit, and a croissant-waffle fusion with lemon and sweet cream. Honestly, everything was delicious. What I appreciate most is the atmosphere. These restaurants just feel comfortable, welcoming, and easy to enjoy with family or friends. I'm excited they're coming to Maple Grove, but I'll still keep visiting the St. Paul, St. Louis Park, and Minneapolis locations too because I want to see our cities and local businesses thrive.

Had the smoked salmon scramble which turned out to be a ln overcooked hot piece of salmon not smoked salmon sitting on top of salty eggs on top of toast. Please look up what smoked salmon is. Service was super fast and friendly. But weirdly they take 3% extra for credit card processing when basically everybody pays with a card (and they have a tap-to-pay machine). More cocktail options than menu options, soda in a can. Sheesh.

I never find it too difficult parking in this neighborhood and managed to find street parking fairly easily. On this occasion, I got the huevos rancheros and my sister got à la carte options of an egg and fruit cup, fries, and a pancake to share. Cannot rave enough about the pancakes here and I'm not even a pancake person. Everything else was delicious and special shout out to the kenwood for the complimentary banana bread with the best butter ever. Definitely a worthwhile brunch

I have NEVER been a fan of baloney, but something about the way he described it made me want to try it. To be safe, we also ordered a pulled pork sandwich to split both. One ordered fries and one a salad, again, to split. That TK Mortadella was sooo good! Amazing blend of flavors on delicious house-made focaccia. The pulled pork was also good, but when I go again, I'm getting the mortadella. Cute inside, very nice service. Per usual, I forgot to take pix when the food first came out, so don't judge them on presentation. :)
