I was towing a Uhaul trailer behind my Suburban from Eugene to Santa Rosa.......Suburban broke down 40 miles north of Redding. Had both vehicles towed to Taylor Motors in Redding and left the Suburban and the Uhaul trailer in their lot on Sunday night. By Monday at 3pm they had fixed the broken fuel pump and got me on my way. The head of the service department even helped me mount the trailer on to the Suburban so I could quickly get on my way home........no easy task but much appreciated ! Great service! read more

The salesmen are pleasant enough to work with but the sales manager is as unbending as a 4x4 post. I was upside down on my trade-in and they would not work with me at all. Here I was, with an approved car loan from my credit union and they just would not deal. The brand new very very expensive truck came with a windshield that had been chipped and then filled! What? I know right! The sales man Ceasar Flores to seal the sales deal promised a free first oil change, and low and behold tried to use that today and his words were- you have nothing in writing about an oil change ! Taylor is a GMC dealership, which also sells and services Chevrolet cars. Everytime I've called or came in to the parts dept. I've received fast and HONEST service. I just had to get a new key for my 96 Camaro and Eddie in parts told me about the possibilities of it not working and why and how I'd have to go about fixing it IF said possible issue happened. Taylor Motors must have so much business that they can pick and choose their customers. I was prequalified through GM Financial and chose Taylor Motors as the delivery dealership. Several days went by and no contact from Taylor Motors. I finally called them , they said oh yes great news you are qualified for X amount. I went down and test drove 1 vehicle and that was it. I did not feel my business was welcome there and it did not seem that they were willing to help me find the right vehicle. They did not follow up with me. All the while John Beckwith, Mark and Dake were there to make the best deal work. I by nature have a lot of questions and a fear that I'm going to get taken for the proverbial "ride" when it comes to buying car, but Taylor Motors took that fear away. I'd been to another Buick-GMC dealer in the area and was treated poorly when I showed them about my car's body panel fit issues. I left with only one problem resolved and a "too bad" in response to the other...this on a brand-new car under warranty. When I took our car to Taylor's service department, I was treated like my concerns had merit. And, what do you know, they fixed every concern I had. Paul, in particular, handled all our issues and did so quickly, professionally, with good humor and courtesy every time. The last time I was in for service, I had a chance to speak at relative length with Brian Taylor, whose family has owned the dealership for decades. He works right out on the sales floor with everyone else and is very approachable and friendly. The car went in with about 1/2 tank of gas. It only had enough to get to a gas station when I picked it up. They didn't tell me about the low fuel - I nearly ran out - less than a gallon was in the tank when I filled it. The recal work they did involved the gas tank, so I guess they drained most of the fuel to work on it, and didn't put the fuel back in the tank when they were finished. I hope whomever got the fuel enjoyed the freebie. They did finish sooner than anticipated. Overall, I've had issues with this dealership service dept everyime I've been. The last time I drove 40-miles one way to have the recal work done. I made the appointment more than a week in advance. They had the car all day, only to tell me they didn't have the parts to do the recal work. On this same trip, I had them change the oil and they charged me 2-pints more oil than the manufacturer says to put in with a new filter - nearly $20 more than I should have been charged. It was the most I've ever paid for an oil change in 10- years of owning this car. Worst service department I've ever dealt with. Took my Chevy truck in for an electrical problem and was told it was repaired. Well part of the problem was repaired on my first trip. Our AC Compressor broke on a cross country trip and after going by the local Chevy dealer and being told they were booked for the day, we were sent to Taylor Motors. They were also booked but our car died in the parking lot of Taylor motors. Though they were booked for the day they did look at and fix our car after having to order the part and get it shipped in. Their service writers were kind and so was the shuttle driver. Shop rate was very fair and the tech did a good job on the repair.. I would recommend Taylor Motors based on my experience. read more

went in a few years ago for oil change and tire rotation on new gmc recetnly purchased there, chalked the inside of L/R tire, chalk mark still on same tire when done, they didn't rotate the tires, walked back in to question serivce manager, he stumbled around a bit and then said the tires didn't need to be rotated. Left didn't go back. 8 months later went back for recall on faulty window washer heater, while there, the service tech missed the fact that amound of white stuff was piled all over one of the connestions for the battery. The service manager said the battery wasn't seen as it was over on the other side of the engine from the washer fluid container. I had asked him to look under the hood initially. As soon as he opened the hood he saw the corrision bulit up on the battery but offered the previous comment as to why the service tech missed the 3 inch pile of white gunk on the battery. I don't go there anmore. they love you when you're are buying and couldn't care less when you bring it back for anything. Wrote a note complaing of this to the owner, never hearnd anything back. After reading so many of these reviews I see I'm not alone when I say how badly I was treated at Taylor motors. I haven't been back there since I had NUMEROUS flat tires, all in the same tire and just with a few days of getting it fixed to find the same tire flat again. I was told nothing was wrong with my tire "it was just a slow leak". I would think if there's a slow leak there's something WRONG with the tire. I was never told they found a nail they just said it's fine, here's your car. 6 days later flat again. So went right from Taylor motors after the 4th flat tire and took the car to Costco after months of dealing with airing it up every 6-7 days and going back and forth to Taylor motors and when I got to Costco my husband and I stood right there watching the tire being removed from the rim and the guy rolled the tire right over to us to see 4-5 patches and one was in the sidewall. Illegal to patch we were told plus they can not patch a tire more then 3 times. This had four possibly 5 plus the illegal sidewall patch. I go out of my way to talk to anyone who has purchased a vehicle from Taylor motors keeping in mind I was told if I didn't buy my car from them I wouldn't be treated nicely if I brought my car in for maintenance. But as I talk to many people I've found that's not true!! Oh no, 10 out of 11 people I've talked to said they were treated horribly and would NEVER buy another car from them nor take their car in for maintenance even though they bought their car there! So! It's not just the people who don't buy from them but even the people who DO buy from them! Taylor motors......I see you are "concerned" about customers bad experiences at your lot. But you don't seem to be doing anything about it. I just talked to an older couple at Costco when I saw their beautiful Buick cascada, we talked to them while walking into Costco last week. They mentioned they bought it at Taylor motors, of course I had to ask them how they were treated. They said horrible and they'll never buy another car from them again nor advise anyone else to either. I see Taylor motors after 3 years since buying my car somewhere else has not changed one bit. I will never understand why they treat people soooooo badly!! It's not good business to treat people who may purchase a vehicle from you with so much hate. Why do you do this, Taylor motors? It has me totally baffled. If anyone wants to be treated like family and have a wonderful fun time making a purchase of a vehicle, I'd advise going to Roseville at the auto mall. Fantastic kind people! Love the kindness and patience and overall experience we ALWAYS have at the auto mall. I drive down there to have my car worked on anytime I need anything done. They drive us anywhere we want to go and pick us up. We have a fantastic time at the mall and going out to lunch while waiting for the car to be serviced. They even wash my car and I never worry about what's going to happen to my car like I did with Taylor motors. The stress of going to Taylor motors was awful. If I could they would not get a star at all. I was sent to taylor motors by my insurance after an accident in my 3 month old car! After a lot of schmoozing and sweet talk and having to return three times for a job not properly done, I refused to go back! Not only did they not fix the issues but they dented my hood and creased my new bummer and then here's the"winner",they only hand tightened the splash guard under my bumper so while I was driving home it started flapping and rubbing on my tire and then proceeded to rip off! The new mechanic told me after inspection that if I had been in another accident with the way the bolts were,I would have lost my entire front end. So on that note. ....I would like to say thank you Bob and everyone else at taylor motors who signed off on my car and let me drive home with my child thus endangering our lives. "Find a need and fill it" is a popular business saying was cited in print in 1935. A sure fire recipe for success is said to be contained in just those six little words. In my lifetime, a good part of my education has consisted of sales and marketing along with periodic seminars. In the final analysis; notwithstanding that some of the newer generation are trying to discredit those six little words, those words express the tenants of what sales/marketing is all about....and I'm here to shout to all the world that the sales team at Taylor Motors have mastered that strategy. At Taylor Motors, my wife explained what she wanted in a vehicle (Buick Enclave), they found just what she wanted with the right color at a price we were happy with. What sets them apart from other businesses I have dealt with in the past is their teamwork, if the primary sales agent was not on duty at the time we stopped by, another was there to carry on where the other agent had left off. Kudos to Wane, Eddie and Fred. Also, subsequent to the purchase, they, as a team have put their best foot forward to make sure all our concerns were met. The service department personnel are very polite, professional and have a clean waiting room with excellent restroom facilities. They also offer a shuttle service if needed. I'm fairly new in Redding and I'm sure there are other reliable dealers in the area; however, as long as I'm satisfied with Taylor Motors, I see no reason to change. My wife and I had purchased a 06' Cadillac CTS with less than 50k miles and wanted to keep all maintenance records up to date and serviced by a reputable dealership. Taking it to Taylor Motors was the worst decision ever. Not only did they not put enough oil in the motor (routine oil change) it caused serious damage to where the motor needs to be replaced or rebuilt. Their solution was an offer of 10% off the new motor/rebuild. Thankfully I had all work documented and kept the records but now I have the headache of taking them to court over their mistakes. They have given my wife and I the run around for over a year now trying to do oil studies and a bunch of other BS. So I would urge you not to have your car serviced or worked on here. Terrible customer service. Went in to have my air conditioning unit looked at. Got a call back (the same day) that my brakes were bad and I needed an axle replaced on one of my wheels. I asked them about the AC unit and they said one line had condensation on it, but that the unit worked fine for them. I agreed to have them fix all of the issues (because they said they could). They guessed that it may take them two days to get everything fixed because they had the parts they needed in-house. After waiting for six days, the only thing they did to my car was replace the brakes. I was so frustrated that they kept my car for so long and only fixed one thing (that I would have done through another company had the car not already been there). The parts they had 'in-house' were not in-house. The bill included all of the things they said they would fix, so we had to have that fixed and I got to drive home a car with squeaky brakes (the only thing they did do!). Those brakes have been squeaking for 5 months now...very disappointing. Very disappointed with the service department and I do not plan to return. I would not recommend the service department. Because I do not like negative reviews, I will add that I appreciated the transport service they provided to get me home the day I dropped the car off. Otherwise, I would suggest steering clear of the service department. I do not think they are trustworthy and did not complete the jobs they said they would. Their timeframes were way off and I did not feel like a priority to them. My impression is that the service department is overworked or may be packing their schedules too tight.
