The good news is that today, after 1 year, 8 months, 2 weeks, and 2 days (625 days) since construction began on my pool project, the contracted scope of work has finally been completed and Riverside County has officially finalized my pool permit(s)! The bad news is that getting here was an absolute nightmare! Despite the fact that Taylor Made Pools failed to complete this contract, the owner recorded a lien against my property (demanding payment for the full contract balance, plus interest and his attorney's fees), the owner refused to remove the lien (even after it expired), and the owner has been gaslighting me since the contract dispute began. It took nearly a year to get through the entire process with the CSLB and for the investigator to refer the case to CSLB-sponsored arbitration. On 01/28/2025, we both presented our case and on 01/31/2025, I was awarded financial damages and Taylor Made Pools was ordered to remove the Mechanic's Lien. After completing the necessary repairs, I had to call for the pre-plaster inspection, hire a contractor to install the mini pebble, a contractor to program all of my equipment perform the 'startup' procedure, and another contractor to install the artificial turf. I also had to purchase the suction cleaner that was included in the contract, but not provided. Needless to say, this project was NOT completed for the agreed upon contract price. read more

Our experience with Taylor made pools was mostly good with some not so good. The project took 6 months. A lot longer than I would've hoped. But due to lots of rain things kept getting pushed back. Bobby was great. There were a few miscommunications on the initial sell and quote but those were handled well. They started almost a month earlier than we had thought so that was great. Craig was probably the best part of the build. He was as attentive as possible with all of his other builds and obligations. He would pretty much bend over backwards to fix any issues we had. He dealt with my crazy with grace and I appreciated that! The manager of the company is another story. My one experience with him wasn't great. He's not easy to work with, very stubborn, and doesn't like to hear issues related to the build that we have had. Very argumentative. He seems to be money driven, not customer satisfaction driven. I get owning a company is hard with all that's involved but a little finesse and kindness goes a very long way with me. I wanted a small sum of money discounted on our coping because the installers messed it up permanently but he refused and wanted to try to fix the issue. It couldn't be fixed which I knew it couldn't be. But we still paid full price because it wasn't worth the hassle. We wanted a waterfall/cave/slide combo built and Rob from Rock-N-Waterfalls was the best! His crew that built our structure were the most awesome group of guys. So attentive to what we wanted. Super nice and personable. And they did the most beautiful job on the whole structure. The demo crew, plumbers, and mastic crew, were great. We did have some issues with the pebble crew. The pebble tec was becoming stained about a week after the pool was filled. But Craig organized another acid wash to fix the problem and it's been great since. I was extremely impressed with most of the crews clean ups after each job. The only 2 who left big messes for us to clean up was the pebble crew and the concrete crew. They do need to work on not causing a mess for us. We have permanent blue staining on our retaining wall from the pebble. And blue stains blasted on the fence and some of my garden decor. There was some damage to our front yard from the dig tractor. Even though it was stated in the contract that Taylor made won't fix what they broke they still made it right and fixed it. So I was very appreciative of that. Construction on your home isn't for the faint of heart and I realize things will go wrong but everything was handled well. Now to the negative (which isn't directed at Taylor made) The concrete company they use is a joke. Thats where we had the most trouble. The only thing we are unhappy about with our pool is our decking and coping. The concrete looks terrible and was a very rushed job. Not finished well in many areas, very rough jagged raised spots. His company left hundreds of broom fibers in our concrete coping after the brush finish that left behind lots of permanent indentation marks. The owner of the concrete company, Alex, was difficult. He argued with me about the issue and was pretty unprofessional. A pipe was burst under the newly poured concrete. Which nobody turned the water on before pouring to make sure there wasn't a problem. (So if you get a pool personally turn your water on to be sure it's working right before concrete) So our brand new concrete was ripped out. They came out and replaced it but the replacement concrete looks like a toddler did it. So in my opinion they very much need to contract with a new company for the concrete work. We've been left with no doubt how to work the equipment and how to take care of our pool. We were given loads of advice and knowledge. It is a lot and intimidating but we're learning. We did ask for several upgrades and they were seamlessly added in to the project. So All in all we are very satisfied with our pool. It turned out absolutely beautiful and my kids and I couldn't be more happy with the pool. It was a lot of stress but I have no regrets. Knowing everything I know now I still would use Taylor made again if we ever needed another pool. Craig made the whole situation worth the stress and easier to handle. read more

It's bitter sweet with this company. The communication was great in the beginning. Our pool took 6 months to complete (December through June) with approx 2.5 months in between of no work being done. It did rain for a few days, but definitely not months. We also had them install a gas line and electricity in the backyard, which we've never been able to utilize because none of them are working. I was also under the impression that my husband and I will get some kind of education on how to run/maintain the pool and how to connect the gas line and electricity after completion. To start this rating. I want to say we started right as covid kicked off in April. Finished late July. This will be a 100% honest review of David and Taylor made. Originally, we signed up to build our own pool through a "build your own pool" guy that supplies a contractors list and draws you plans. Long story short that guy was a nightmare as soon as we wanted to increase the size of our grotto and we had given our $2,500 deposit. I was so annoyed with that guy, I was happy to pay $2,500 for him to go away. Now, in comes David. He is building a pool for a friend of mine. My friend wanted the piece of mind of an expert managing the "subs" for him. It was more for us to hire David to manage them. But worth every. last. penny. Watching David do his job, I would have been way over my head. And I've been in the trades for years. That first part is a little wordy. The rest will be simple. Cons and pros. Cons first to David. He kinda got our hopes up with time lines. It took 4 months. We were told maybe 3. Fortunately, being in the trades I knew supplies were being pushed back. The extra month didn't bother me. My buddy struggled though. If David could have under promised or just said flat out that there were were likely delays etc. I could understand. Also, we built through the summer busy season. Nothing happens on time. However, every contractor we talked to would say a short time line. Looking back it was all not correct. I think there's a lot of pressure there and that helps people sign clients. Still. I wish David would have said likely 4-5 months being realistic. But we will fight for 3 Now the pros. David is picky with his subs! Everyone was lights out. The guy who dug our hole was incredible. Kicked me out of my own back yard for talking back there while he worked lol. But dug a darn good hole. I want great work. Ill deal with it. Stone guy. No body better in the valley than him. He was not only a perfectionist. But he was good with customers. Finding guys in the trades like that are rare. There is no way I can leave a review good enough to let you know how good that sub truly is. Concrete guy is great. Made sure things are done right. Electricians were great too. David shows up when his subs show up just to over see them. We didn't know he would do that. That was awesome and reassuring. Also, the little things. David doesn't skip the little details and go cheap where you aren't looking to make up lost profit. Most builders give you plastic caps to the main drain to the filter. Those are concrete. I go over to friends houses that used other builders. Theirs is the cheap white plastic. Not just a light upgrade. A programmed light system. Many times his subs were only supposed to be there a day or two. They would be there a third just to make sure the details weren't skipped. Co.e to think about it. Outside of covid, this might have been a good reason for delays. But I have the peace of mind that instead of just finishing up to meet a deadline. They spent another 1/2 day to get it done right. That was huge looking back. If I were to put in a pool again. Without question I would re hire David. read more

David and each and every sub he uses are the best of the best!! We have been blown away at the quality and workmanship that was done on our pool, literally, blown away.
