Even though I was a new customer, Joel came right over to evaluate. I was impressed that he tows a trailer with EVERYTHING you could possible need to make a repair. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS GUY. Might be done right, only if he ever actually does anything. I went back and forth with Joel for two weeks trying to get a simple pump install. I had to continually chase him up, remind him about the job, and chase him to confirm the day he committed to do it. Reminded him of my name three times. He told me he would arrive at 2pm on the agreed day. Then texted me at 2pm on that day to tell me the price he quoted me was a "cash" price. Inconvenient to go and get that kind of cash, but ok I went to the bank and did.... 3.30pm no sign of him. I chased him.... "I'll be there in an hour and a half approximately" 6pm no sign or word from the man. This review starts off with tragedy. My brother had his wife pass suddenly. 33 years old who left 4 girls all ranging in age from 4 to 13 left for my brother to raise by himself now. He's a staff sergeant in the Marines down in Camp Pendleton and lives in Murrieta, CA so not only does he work long hours, he'll be working a lot. Before Desiree his wife passed, their pool heater went out and the pool and hot tub have been unusable for their family to enjoy. One of their daughters had a birthday the day of her mom's passing so the birthday party had to be rescheduled. My wife and I thought long and hard about it and we decided to buy my brother's family a new heater for their pool so we could have it accessible for the birthday party. Also, we wanted the girls to have 1 more thing to get their minds off their mom being gone. I learned a lot about pool and spas through this process of shopping. I called 4 companies/contractors and they were all extremely helpful and empathetic to our situation. All were quoting me the same price between $2500 to $3000 for the heater replacement. I decided on Done Right Pool and Spa because there was 1 thing that stood out about Joel over the other 3 companies, and that is he does all the repair or installation work himself. I love that as a business owner because #1, he personally knows what he's talking about and I know he won't B.S me. #2 if the work doesn't get done, I don't have to call a middle man to get the sub-contractor out to complete the project. I was under a time line and needed someone who could commit to getting it done before her birthday party. Joel, took 3 full days to do all the work, but that was because he worked and installed through heavy rain and wind. The weather was terrible and he powered through it. Also, the 1st day he stayed until 3am working late through heavy rain. The 2nd day until 10pm working through light rain. He did the final touches the 3rd day which was the birthday party, but the pool and hot tub were heated and usable. He didn't have to come back the 3rd day, but he promised he'd install a $250 LED multi-colored light fixture in the pool, and he wanted to custom spray paint the heater and pumps and all the piping so it showed and looked nice for others to see. Joel, became part of the family for a little bit, and he was someone who became a silent hero so the girls could have a usable pool and hot tub for the birthday party. Also the new LED multicolored light made the night extra cool for them to enjoy. Final thoughts, Joel will be more money then competition but you'll know it will get done right and the work will be quality which is very important to me. So if you want either your pool serviced weekly, or you need pumps, heaters, filters, or electrical work done for your pool or hot tub, Joel and Done Right Pool and Spa I highly recommend for a quality experience. He might be a little more then the competition, but you will have peace of mind that the work will be done #1, and #2 it will be done right the 1st time.
