    Risotto Balls
    Jamie G.

Babyyyyyy, I'm overjoyed that Taylor Gourmet is back in business -- although H St. didn't come back (RIP). My friends and I have a slight addiction to their risotto balls. The classic ones are a GREAT start. They're nice in size, always hot, and the flavors really come through. SN: I personally could use more marinara lol Now for the seasonal. I had the seessonal risotto balls as well which was corn and jalapeños. They weren't my favorite seasonal risotto balls but still very tasty. These don't come with marinara, but instead more of a cream-based sauce.

Disappointed! I occasionally look forward to a sandwich from Taylor Gourmet It's been about 3 months since I made a purchase. However, it was not the standard I have grown to expect and liked about this establishment. Extremely, underwhelming quantity of meat, one small Roma tomato slice on each side and insufficient condiments. The sandwich was so dry.

A delicious sandwich shop. Compared to others it is perhaps one of the better sandwich shops in the area on K Street. They offer both hot and cold sandwiches, most of which are specialty sandwiches. One thing to pay close attention to when ordering are the ingredients and toppings on the specialty sandwiches. If there is a topping or ingredient you aren't quite familiar with or simply don't want you can order the sandwich without the topping. This is especially important when ordering their cheesesteak sandwich, a sandwich which was far from my expectation of a cheesesteak. The cheesesteak had lettuce, tomato and raw red onion. Not that the sandwich wasn't delicious, however it wasn't what I expected and what most people would expect from a cheesesteak sandwich. The raw red onion was most surprising on the sandwich. Overall a good experience. Street parking is available. I'll try them again when in the area.

This is my go-to lunch spot. The staff is quick and my order always tastes fresh. I have also placed large orders for work lunches that included many substitutions and my order was correct and ready to go on time! Major highlight is that this is one of the only quick service sandwich places that has a gluten-free wrap available- which is actually a decent size and holds together!!

A Wonderful Sunday Brunch at CR NoMa!…read more I visited CR NoMa for Sunday brunch and really enjoyed my experience! CR NoMa is a Moroccan-Israeli scratch kitchen featuring Middle Eastern and North African flavors. I love that it feels like a relaxed neighborhood spot while still being stylish and sophisticated. FOOD: I ordered the Traffic Jam Breakfast, which comes with scrambled cheesy eggs, a hash brown, and cornmeal-crusted French toast with maple syrup and raspberry glaze. Since I don't eat pork, I swapped the bacon for crispy lamb, and everything was delicious! The French toast was definitely a highlight, especially with that raspberry glaze. I do wish they offered another traditional breakfast meat that isn't pork, like chicken or turkey sausage. The crispy lamb was a great substitute, but having another non-pork breakfast option would be nice. DRINKS: I did the $24 Bottomless "Make Your Own Mimosas," which I thought was a great deal! Instead of constantly waiting for someone to refill your mimosa, they bring bottomless bottles of sparkling wine with a selection of juices, so you can make your mimosa exactly how you like it. They also offer a $45 Deluxe Bottomless option that includes the make-your-own mimosas plus CR Bloody Marys, Micheladas, draft cocktails, and Old Time Lager. An entrée is required for either bottomless option, and food is purchased separately. SERVICE: Our server was wonderful! She was attentive, kind, and accommodating. I explained my dietary needs, and she had no problem allowing me to substitute the bacon for crispy lamb. I really appreciated how easy she made it. ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant is surprisingly spacious! You really can't tell how big it is from the outside. I loved the modern rustic décor, beautiful natural lighting, and relaxed but sophisticated feel. It works perfectly as a casual neighborhood brunch spot but also feels like somewhere that could easily transition into a lively dinner and drinks destination. The broader menu features Middle Eastern and North African flavors, including fresh brick-oven pita and house-made hummus, plus craft cocktails. They also offer happy hour and weekend brunch, so there's plenty for me to come back and try! PRICE: The prices are very reasonable, especially for the portion sizes. You get a good amount of food without brunch feeling unnecessarily expensive. And $24 for bottomless sparkling wine and juices in DC? I'll take it! Overall, CR NoMa delivered a wonderful Sunday brunch experience. Delicious food, attentive service, a beautiful space, good portions, and reasonable prices. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu!

Let me start with the cheesesteak. I am a firm believer that an amazing cheesesteak has to nail the 3 components: 1) quality meat, 2) gooiness of the cheese, 3) freshness of the roll. Harvey's nailed the meat. The gooiness of the cheese was inconsistent but I do like their take on their own wiz. The roll was eh. Also, the onions were just thrown into the meat instead of being car elided on the flat grill. I think what really took my by surprised was the staff. The cook seemed to be on break eating while I waited for my order. Now it was a little dead in Union Market. I showed up around 5ish on a Friday night. But I was a little caught off guard when watching the staff during the making of my sandwich. Just expected a higher standard. If I lived in the area, I love the availability of getting fresh quality cuts of meat as they have available for your viewing pleasure. Their menu of sandwiches available here still look great. But now that I've tried their cheesesteak, I don't feel the need to stop for it again.

Practically on the corner of New York and Florida ave. Parking is virtually non existent from what I could see. I sent my wife inside to order. We each got a Large Italian and I also added a Large "Rich Boy" which is essentially a po boy. I live about 15 minutes away so we drove home to eat. I started with the Rich Boy. The shrimp, SOGGY. The Bread, Hard. I ate half and gave the other half to my daughter. Terribly disappointed. I wanted to like this. They give you a lot of soft, soggy shrimp which takes away from an original po boy to me. Next up the Italian. I will say they give. Lot of meat. I also liked the cheese. The Hoagie relish unfortunately is a no go for me and really brings down the sandwich. I don't know what's in it but it's not for me. I tried scraping off the relish and it was too embedded in the sandwich at that point. The bread was also hard. 2nd half, in the trash. Overall, $60 for 3 sandwiches and my wife and I essentially ate 1 large, gave one half to our daughter and the rest went in the trash. This place isn't for us so we won't be back. Total came out to approximately $33, with the extra bacon for an extra $1. What's hot - Quality. One of the best quality deep dish pizzas I've had. The crust is thick, substantive, and holds up well underneath the wonderful amount of topping/filling. It's soft and chewy on the inside, and has a nice crunch on the outside. It's also not oily, which I really appreciate. There is no skimping on the toppings/filling, which my husband and I love. The meat was tender and juicy. There was a good amount of sliced bell peppers, as well. The filling was flavorful, well seasoned, and not too salty. The structure of the pizza held up well as my husband and I noshed through the pizza. We love that the crust is not floppy. - Menu. Good variety. There's something for everyone, possibly with the exception of vegan. I didn't see vegan cheese on the menu. However, I saw a smoked salmon pesto pizza on the menu. Pretty impressive options. - Price. Excellent value for money, especially given the portion size. The normal size pizza is their smaller size pizza, which was enough to feed myself and my husband. - Service. Pretty good. When we arrived, we were told it would take 10 more minutes. When we first put in our order for the cheesesteak pizza, they updated us that they were out of steak and asked if we were alright substituting chicken for steak. Be prepared to wait the maximum amount of time for your order, because they appear to put in the time in handcrafting each pizza order. Totally worth the wait. When they gave us the order, they opened the lid of the pizza box to let us to see our pizza. My response? I literally said, "Damn." Haha... What's not - Location. To be fair, this is specific to me and my husband, but this place is a little farther from us. Additionally, parking around this area may not be the most convenient depending on the day and time. This place is in the middle of a fairly large alley. As such, there is enough room to park your car by the restaurant, but it'll depend on the time and circumstances when you get there. There's also no seating. It appears to be strictly a takeaway joint, which is not a big deal, but it'll depend on how hungry you are and whether you're equipped to keep the pizza warm on your way home. - Service. They appear to be on all the takeaway food apps, which is helpful. However, they're not always consistent with updating the apps. For example, the first time my husband and I tried to order from there, we arrived and the restaurant was closed. When we picked up our order this time, we explained our previous situation to confirm the days and times they're actually open. They explained to us that they probably forgot to update the apps on their holiday hours. My point is it might be helpful to call and confirm that they're open, depending on when you're putting in an order. Final Answer Definitely plan on returning and worth it for a great quality deep dish pizza.
