I love Ethan Stowell restaurants! I especially love this Tavolata location, not only because it's the closest to me, but because they're always so nice and the food is consistently delicious. This is the kind of place I don't mind paying the automatic 20% gratuity. They deserve it and not all places do. Our last server was super friendly; but in a natural and genuine way. He was the perfect amount of attentiveness! And that seems to be the case every time we're here. This place has a warm and welcoming ambience. There are high ceilings, feels spacious, intimate, yet casual and family friendly. They've got a great HH menu with pretty good portioned pastas! As well as a big plate of kid's pasta!! Pastas are always cooked perfectly. Great salads and apps. Just good vibes all around!!

My bf surprised me and brought me here for Valentine's dinner. He knows I love pasta. He had made a reservation, of course, since it's Valentine's Day, and it was pretty busy. We started off with the Focaccia and Fried Calamari. For drinks, I tried the Valentine's specials, the Cupid's Club and Head in the Cloud. My bf tried the Agave Fix. For the pasta, I went for the Paccheri, which came with small cut up pieces of shrimp, and my bf got Rigatoni "The King," which came with spicy sausage. They both were with tomato sauce. The pastas were good. Perfect amount to finish and be satisfied, although I do love having too much and having leftovers. And I usually like my pastas extra saucy, so I would've preferred my Paccheri to have more sauce. And you can see someone making the pasta right next to where you can see the chefs all cooking. Everything was tasty. We really enjoyed our dinner, so just decided to go ahead and do dessert, and got the Chocolate Ganache Cake. Service was excellent. Our waitress was very friendly. Staff were all helpful with each other, and the manager was very personable, and went around checking on every table.

Excellent service, delicious food, decent happy hour menu. My 13 year old loved the salmon bruschetta and appreciated the chef accommodating his custom request of gnocchi with pesto. I enjoyed the restaurant week $50 3 course menu ( including some Amazing Tiramisu) I think it was a bit pricey for pasta had it not been restaurant week would be my only gripe.

Had the gnocchi alla romana dish and fried potatoes. The potatoes weren't very flavorful, not that crispy, and the sauce was too sour. The gnocchi dish had an overwhelming cheese flavor (I say that as someone who loves cheese), and I couldn't finish the dish. The gnocchi was cheesy, the crust was crispy cheesy, and even the tomato sauce tasted like cheese. The food was just was okay overall for being so expensive.

My partner and I had been feeling let down by some of the Italian restaurants we'd tried recently, so we wanted to revisit an old favorite. We were pleased that Tavolata did not disappoint! For appetizers, my partner and I shared the Romana croquettes and the Macrina focaccia. The croquettes were fine - crunchy on the outside with a cheesy filling on the inside, but not especially notable. The focaccia bread came with an oil & vinegar dip and a cheesy butter spread on the side, and both the vinegar and butter went well with the bread. For the main course, I got the classic spaghetti (with tomato, basil, and parmesan) with 2 chicken meatballs added. I usually prefer pork meatballs to chicken meatballs, but these meatballs were quite large, and surprisingly juicy and tender for chicken. The pasta was thick and well-cooked, and the marinara sauce was flavorful with a hint of sweetness. The portion size was generous and pretty filling for me. My partner ordered the pappardelle (with beef and pork ragu), which he also enjoyed. Even though we were both already full from the pasta, I was curious to try the lemon zeppole dessert. This was probably the only disappointing part of the meal, as the zeppole donut balls were quite small and didn't have the fluffy pillow-y texture that I was expecting, and the donuts didn't have much flavor on their own. But the chocolate sauce that came with the donuts was very deep and rich and tasty. For the quality and quantity of food we got, the meal was a good value compared to similar nicer restaurants in Seattle. Tavolata on Stone Way is a reliable option for a date night in Fremont. We'd give it a 4 out of 5.

Decided to visit during Seattle Restaurant Week because it was a deal we could not pass up! $70 for a bottle of wine, salad, and 2 pasta dishes! Normally it would have cost $121 for what we ordered. We added on some dessert and had no regrets! The restaurant is very large and service was excellent, especially considering how many people were there. My favorite was definitely the ravioli. I was worried that they would only serve 4-5 pieces of ravioli but they filled up the bowl and I had plenty to eat. I could have drank the oil at the bottom of the ravioli, it was so good! The tiramisu was also delicious and I'm glad we went ahead and ordered dessert, even though that was not included in the deal. The Caesar salad and campanelle were both good but not great. The salad wasn't really dressed, at least not with what I've come to expect with Caesar dressing, so it was kind of plain. Overall, definitely worth it for Seattle Restaurant Week!

It's been awhile since I've dined at an Ethan Stowall restaurant, but a recent ESR e-newsletter mentioned a dining campaign for BOGO pasta and gnocchi entrees off the regular menu on Mondays in January. I've enjoyed Staple & Fancy, Rione XIII, How to Cook a Wolf, Red Cow plus including the other two Tavolata sites in Belltown and Capitol Hill. The ESR restaurant empire has grown locally, as well as, ventures beyond the greater Seattle area, on the Eastside, and further east in Spokane, Boise, and midtown Manhattan in New York. This was the first time to dine at the Stone Way location (1/22/24). The Homie and I shared some HH menu items, the Chef's Choice Board and warm lemon zeppole with chocolate sauce. Then we each dug into our respective pasta bowls, Tonnarelli and Pappardelle. Both food and service were just okay. Compared to visits to other ESR restaurant sites, this was just overall a tad underwhelming. Just an fyi - street parking is a royal pain with all the nearby construction projects. Various seating are available throughout the restaurant: two tops to communal table plus bar counter and sidewalk patio seating. Other info to keep in mind: there is an automatic 22% service charge for dining onsite and 8% added to delivery and takeout orders. Happy Hour is daily from 4-6pm.

We went here on a Monday night for the Pasta BOGO. We ordered the bruschetta and the focaccia from the HH menu and the Pappardelle and Rigatoni from the main menu. Everything was good! The first time I had the smoked fish bruschetta was at Derby and every time I see it on an ESR menu, I have to get it! The focaccia was delicious as well. Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Both pasta's were good, but we enjoyed the rigatoni the best because of the spicy sausage that makes this dish stand out. It was very busy for a Monday night and we saw people without reservations being redirected to nearby Ballard & Frelard Pizza. Parking is challenging in this area, but managed to find a spot 2 blocks away. There is parking in the building garage with reasonable rates. Plan ahead if you go! The music is quite loud, as was in the restroom. Our server Mason was prompt and courteous!

My wife and I went here for date night and I have to say I was exceptionally pleased. The Pasta was delicious. We got the Pappardelle and the Rigatoni and I have to say I could not decide which I liked better. The orange and mint in the Pappardelle was really unique to me and I really loved it. The space itself is nice, and the service was good. All in all it was a very good experience.

Brought my first date to Tavalota Fremont and somehow the universe sent us Jimmy. The man's a legend. He didn't just take care of us, he curated the whole experience. Everything was perfect, from the vibe to the food, and then he pulls out his "Jimmy special" salted caramel gelato with chocolate syrup. At that point I was ready to propose. Easily one of those moments you'll remember and smile about later. Thanks, Jimmy, for setting the bar way too high for every future date.

TLDR: overpriced & over-seasoned food, nice staff & good service. I've been to Tavolata Belltown before and enjoyed the experience. The Fremont location disappointed. We ordered one pappardelle and one vegetarian ravioli. Then we added a Tavolata salad. Pappardelle: it was slightly over-seasoned. The noodles were not cooked very well- some stuck together, some too hard, nothing at the al-dent level. Ravioli: sauce was saltier than we preferred. The ravioli itself was too soft, also lacking good texture. Tavolata salad: tasted good at first bite, but way too heavily dressed. The dressing was extremely salty. Also we stumbled upon funky tasting cherry tomatoes. The staff was very nice and accommodating - they took it off the bill as soon as we raised the concern. Staff was very nice but quite busy. 22% service fee before tax is mandated.

Pappardelle, spaghetti and meatballs, rigatoni (I'd get pappardelle again in a heartbeat)
    Hucky K.

Pros: HH menu is very decent and this place has great atmosphere and service Cons: spaghetti and meatballs and rigatoni were both very salty not sure if it was intentional. It's way too much sodium.

Rigatoni, papperdelle, olives, crispy potatoes, 2 drinks

Finally a Monday night at 930 became available, I immediately grabbed it. They had a cancellation and actually called me see if I wanted an earlier reservation, which of course I jumped on that too. Appreciated they made the call and whoever cancelled. The ambiance gave old school and new school Italian vibes. The service from walking in to leaving was 5 star. Everyone was friendly. Our server was very attentive, and he was very thorough with explaining dishes and making recommendations. They started us off with complimentary rabbit pate on a crosstin with balsamic drizzle and fresh bread. The rabbit pate was very good. We started off with some cocktails, The paper plane, negroni, espresso martini and bello bandito. No complaints there. For food we tried the Insalata di cicoria - Chicory salad. It was topped with gorgonzola crumbles and pomegranate seeds. The salad was paired perfectly as the Chicory is on the bitter side. Next up was the Tajarin con burro E salvia, which was a fine hand cut egg yolk pasta with cultured butter and sage. I love you can order half or full plates. This pasta was velvety, and full of flavor. I normally do not like a thin pasta, but I loved this one! Risotto di mais was up next. This was a risotto with fresh corn and tomato butter, this was by far the best risotto I have ever had. We only ordered a half, but my next visit would be a full! The flavors all shined through. You could taste everything with each bite, the Parmesan, tomatoes butter, sweetness from the corn. All the food was amazing, but this was by far my favorite bite! Protein we went with the trota con fagioli, pan seared trout with salsa fagioli and carmalized onions. The salsa fagioli was a creamy white bean like sauce. The fish was pan seared perfectly with great flavor. Loved it, skin and all. Ended the meal with a decadent torta al cioccolato, chocolate cake with gianduja moose, chocolate buttercream, hazelnut brutti ma buoni and luxury cherries. I am not a dessert eater, although this looked amazing, I didn't try it, BUT my dinner companions loved it. I would never come back to Seattle without getting reservations here!

Unfortunately, the food did not hit right. Here's what we ordered: Appetizer: Crispelle - Crespelle filled with taleggio & fig mostarda with roasted figs and walnuts: Tasted like a crepe filled with brie - just OK. Primi: Tajarin con burro e salvia - Fine hand-cut egg yolk pasta with cultured butter and sage. I see the potential but someone was heavy handed with the salt so it ruined whatever flavors were supposed to come through. Secondi: Salmone reale - Pan-roasted king salmon with sauteed chanterelles, crimini brodo and thyme oil. Again, could have been really great but the mushrooms & sauce were overly salty. I think I read another review that captures my sentiments . . . perhaps whoever was the chef that night fell short. I specifically asked if the head chef Stuart was there and they said no.

Not only to experience the food, but the DREAMY outdoor space I had seen all over social media. Service was excellent from start to finish. It definitely gives off more romantic/date night vibes, but it was also fun to experience with some ladies from my team. Perfect for a girl's night! Obsessed with the string lights, the fountain, and the overall atmosphere. You somehow don't even realize you're in the middle of Seattle when you're here. The menu has so many options which made it so hard to choose, but I ended up going with the Fettucini ai Fungh - fresh fettuccini pasta with wild mushrooms served in a light cream sauce topped with truffle oil, and I also added chicken. When I say this is probably my FAVORITE pasta I've had in Seattle, I'm not kidding... I almost cleared my plate which is hard for me as my eyes are always bigger than my stomach, but I made it happen! The cream sauce was rich but not too heavy, and the truffle oil was prominent without being crazy overpowering. 10/10 absolutely no notes. We had a reservation for 7:00 PM and specifically requested outdoor seating. We were only trying to be accommodating and make things easier for the staff. We were initially seated inside, but they eventually moved us outside because that was what they had available and what our reservation was originally for. At that point, the staff seemed noticeably upset with us for having sat inside. Our host then argued with us and said that we had requested to sit inside, which simply wasn't what happened. We never demanded or even preferred indoor seating. We preferred to sit outside from the beginning and only offered to sit inside if it helped because they seemed busy. It was frustrating to have our attempt to be flexible turned into an issue and then be argued with about what we had said.

You walk in and order at a self-service kiosk, and there are plenty of options to customize your pasta. After ordering, you seat yourself and they call your name when the food is ready. We had no problem finding a table for two. There seemed to be a lot of takeout orders coming through. Both pastas tasted fresh and were cooked al dente, just as advertised. The carbonara was creamy and flavorful. The short rib itself was good, but the pasta and sauce were a bit separated, so the pasta didn't absorb as much flavor as I expected. The cannoli was very filling and had a hint or orange in it. For those short of time and live with no adventure I'll cut to the chase. The food is exquisite…read more For the rest, please read on. This last week while traveling for business to Seattle I had the pleasure of dining at Mezzanote. Their name of course implies it is an Italian restaurant but what you don't realize until you have sat and initiated your meal is that you, regardless of choice are embarking on a beautiful tribute to Northern Italian cuisine. At first arrival, the immediate impression is one of modest presentation but friendly and very inviting ambience. The staff, including our Server Marcus was attentive and had impeccable timing to read the table and flow of those joined in the meal. Check back was perfect and his service support was equally in tune with the other tables on the patio where we sat. Now this is what you have been waiting for... The food and I mean, we had almost one of every item on the menu and every dish was simply delicious. Tastes that were balanced and never overwhelming, but truly inspired dishes that your taste buds understand that the food was made with care and meant to satisfy even the toughest of pallets. Let's start with the house focaccia and ask for the disco sauce to dip your bread. It was a tummy satisfying start but then they dropped the focaccia regala and with the cheeses melted in a medley that left me thankful I was as they say "hungry as a hostage" because the meal had just begun. The next appetizer brought out was the Carote... This medley of carrots smoked with a Chile Honey Glaze left this BBQ born and raised Mexican wondering why ?? And then I had my first forkful and any doubt that I had about the chef creating something sacrilegious by smoking carrots left me, as the flavors were amazing. For a moment I forgot I was eating my vegetables.. where was this when I was a younger man. On to the main courses and the Reginette was first up. This Bolognese was a hearty blend of flavor and subtlety as it wasn't overly anything except satisfying. The Braciola Dia Miaale was a durock pork chop with a rhubar mostarda and salsify puree with asparagus that could not have been better. You didn't have to be a pork chop fan to enjoy this at all. Every dish that arrived was better than the one before. The Bucatini C'Anciuova, Prawns with Calabrian Chile, anchovies, tomatoe and orange zest was a delight and I don't normally eat anything overly spicy. This was a balance of heat with a twist of tang that the orange zest delivered flawlessly. Allow me to share that it is imperative you save room for dessert. Their tiramisu taste as if there is some Italian grandmother locked away in a pastry room kicking these out. They have other desserts to be sure, but this is the star of the show in my opinion. For those of you that are wine enthusiast, they did have a wine list that was impressive. All in all, for those that follow me, you know that it is a rarity for me to give any place I visit five stars from the first visit. Consistency is premium in my book. But as I mentioned to one of our fellow diners. This food is amazing, and the reality is each of these dishes could be served in a five-star venue layered with opulence and still the food would outshine the location. The only drawback was there was no Coke Zero... Damn it ...Turns out though that can be a pretty tough find in the city of Seattle in all the restaurants. For one that does not participate in alcohol or wine, my taste buds were not underserved and I survived without my Zero. This place is a go-to for any Italian yearning for authentic Italian food made with love. That's the only way I can describe just how good the food is. This isn't something that is prepared in volume for the masses. The chef and that team are simply serving with their hearts and it resonates with every bite. I'll be back, again and again. Oh and should you find yourself needing to go to the restroom. Ask for the Disco restroom.. that alone is worth the drive... Lol until next time Mezzanote! Thank you for a wonderful meal.

I had the lumache and it was really good. The veal was tender and the pasta was perfectly al dente…read more Portions were a little small imo. I also got the blackberry mint soda! We sat in the garden and it was cool seeing the airplanes flying overhead as they were coming into land at the Boeing field. Outside seating was shady and service was great!
