F-off Friday has begun!!
Peter I.

Juan did a nice job with service and it's a really cool spot right next to the belly up. Cedros Avenue is a really cool spot to walk around and look at shops and then if you get a chance pop in the tavern and let them take care of you Parking sometimes can be a little tough, but we always seem to find one and just like the vibe with a whole area so I definitely recommend it. It kind of feels like you're on vacation. It's that kind of spot.

Mike Love after dinner @ BellyUp

2nd visit to Tavern, and this time it was before the Mike Love concert! We made reservations for Thursday at 5:30pm and by the time we left (6:30ish) it was packed! We were seated quickly and our waitress was amazing! This time I got the Sushi burrito and it was 10/10 DELICIOUS! I also ordered the Mrazzberry cocktail (again) because that's my FAVORITE beverage there! For dessert we shared a key lime pie... and its safe to say that was a great decision to end our visit. This spot is definitely a MUST if you want a chill spot to eat at...but even moreso a great spot if youre going to see a concert at the BellyUp later in the night. Go give them a try!

Service- eh, at best. All the servers and bartenders are rude and seem to have a chip on their shoulders. They think anyone coming into order food or drinks is just there to sneak into BellyUp. We were going to eat, drink, and go to a show. The doors were already open, so we weren't trying to sneak in anywhere. They wouldn't even give us a food menu. But we kept getting lectured. It's a horrifying experience. I ended up getting the broccoli cheese soup, but it was extremely salty. And I only ate a couple bites.

Tried this place for the first time and really liked it! Super cool interior. Sweet potato fries were sooo good. Shrimp tacos weren't my favorite, they had kind of an earthy flavor that's just not my preference. Calamari was good and I loved my coconut cocktail. Definitely will come back!

Great margaritas but the vibes are just okay. Big party of 8 comes in after 1pm on a Sunday. We get asked bar or table, so we say table so we can all see each other and talk, plus wanted to stay outside, but as he's setting up the table he asks if it's just for drinks and not food, so we say yes and he makes us sit at the bar which we take every single seat. Why even ask then? Hah. I liked their Red Hot Chili margarita with Tajin on the rim, mmm. Service from lady bartender was nice; accommodated all our drink orders and closed each of us out smoothly. I felt too warm inside, wish the a/c was on.

Good place to meet up with friends before going to the show. The server we had for a table of 6 was good. He was attentive and got all our orders correct. The food was decent. The inside was cool with all the posters of the bands that played at the Belly Up. Liked that you're able to line up inside the bar after we ate.

This is a great place to grab a bite and some drinks before a show at the Belly Up! I would definitely recommend making a reservation on nights, which have shows as it's a decently small place. The menu here has something for most, a nice selection of appetizers ranging from poki to pizza. They have a pretty decent burger, and their filet is tender. Ask your server about specials as they do have those here and there!

My boyfriend and I came here before a concert on a Friday night. We had reservations which was good because the place filled up quickly! To drink I got the classic margarita and my bf got the lime in the coconut. I liked both a lot and it's awesome that you can just bring your drinks next door with you to the concert For food I got the seared ahi and he got the fish and chips. The ahi was cooked really well and the rice it came with was super flavorful! The fish and chips was cooked really well and fried perfectly. Our server who took care of us was friendly and it was so fun to look at all the art on the walls. Next time we go to a concert we'll definitely come back!

There's a small restaurant in the Arts District of Solana Beach. It was previously named "Wild Notes," which closed for restoration and reopened as the Tavern. I an happy to say, it has the same owners, and more importantly, the same quality food and specialty cocktails. During my last two visits here, our server was WHITTNEY! She provides EXCELLENT service from the moment you walk in the door throughout your dining experience. The food, vibe, decor is well thought out and planned. Enjoy, steak, seafood, pasta, chicken or vegetarian meals. You will feel like a VIP!! It is IMPORTANT to mention, this restaurant is in the same building as the Belly Up Tavern and concert venue. The kitchen is toward the front and center and serves customers in the restaurant, patio, main concert floor and upstairs loft. On concert nights, it is extremely busy, seating is limited and reservations are a must (Open Table app). Customers receive PREFERENTIAL service so you can have your dinner AND gain EARLY access to the concert through a special door in the back. Show your dinner receipt to the security guard. If you don't eat in the restaurant, you must wait on the sidewalk for the doors to open at 7PM. What are you waiting for, adventures await you! Check the website, buy concert tickets, make dinner reservations and hit me up, I want to go back! You know the drill, don't forget to tell 'em Rosemary sent ya!

Came here for a late lunch today and was happy to find something good still open at 3pm! Been to Belly Up a handful of times but never realized this place was next door! The food was great, service was wonderful, and it was nice to have open air seating. My friend had the pollo asado tacos and I had the Mediterranean blackened salmon salad. Both were tasty and reasonably priced for the area. Thank you for the lovely experience!

This cool place is a great start before a show at the Belly Up. We started with the sushi burrito as our appetizer and it was a nice size and good flavor. Next we shared the Surf & Turf Enchiladas Suizas - these were a bit fishy and cold (even though the plate was super hot). Then, we had the Seared Anchiote Crusted Tuna - this was awesome. The tuna was terrific, the bok choy was fantastic and the pineapple fried rice was perfect. For dessert, we had the Warm Chocolate and Banana Cake - again awesome. Definitely will be back.

$1 upcharge for ice. You cannot make this up.

Best place to start your concert evening. Secret back door entrance to Belly Up. Eat or drink instead of waiting in line at the door.

We each got to order a pot of tea, so we decided to order 5 different ones to try out more flavors together. The ones we picked were: -Jasmine orange oolong - Coconut milk green tea - Earl grey lavender - Vanilla cream -Strawberry rose champagne oolong tea My top two favorites were the jasmine orange oolong and the coconut milk green tea. The only flavor that none of us enjoyed was the strawberry rose champagne oolong tea, so when it came time for refills, we switched it to the rouge provence. For the food, there were four finger sandwiches: chicken breast, smoked salmon, cucumbers, and chopped spinach. We all liked the chicken breast one the most, and felt like the cucumbers and chopped spinach could have been combined into one sandwich for a more balanced flavor. For sweets, there was the seasonal scone, fruit tart, macaron, and donut. I loved the scone with the butter and fruit preserves, as well as the fruit tart. The service was polite, but a bit slow and we waited a while before our food arrived. There was only one person who was serving the entire afternoon tea area, so it's understandable that there's a longer wait. All in all, I would definitely come back for another afternoon tea experience!

The coffee is smooth, clean, and never misses, and what really keeps me stopping in is their coffee bean selection. I usually grab a bag to take home, and they always have a great variety to choose from. Bonus: when you buy a bag of beans, they hook you up with a free coffee--which is a nice touch and honestly keeps me coming back even more. They also have a really nice front patio with tables, perfect for sitting outside and enjoying your coffee. On top of that, they carry merch too--really cool hats, cups, shirts, and jackets that actually look good, not the typical throwaway stuff. It's not just a quick caffeine stop, it's a legit quality coffee shop with a dialed-in vibe and products that actually deliver. Service is always friendly, and everything runs smooth and easy.

The whole reason we went though was for coffee and we were FAR from disappointed. We got the Blood Orange Basil Latte and the Blackberry Vanilla Latte and both tasted perfect, each sip of the Blood Orange Basil had a nice scent of basil with the leaf in there. You really can't go wrong here, the tables outside gave you a nice area to sit relax and enjoy the ocean breeze. A+ 10/10 no notes, excepts for the positive ones above. Not saying anyone's review is wrong but the 2 Star review definitely was incorrect

Such a soothing smooth cup of earl grey tea with vanilla flavor, charcoal dust and cream!! Beautiful overcast morning to enjoy reading with a decent playlist in the background. The pastries and menu offerings looked good too! We'll be back! Highly recommend! We ended up going again today (Sunday) which was much more crowded and more people streaming in by the minute. We still managed to get a table. This time I ordered the matcha and mint, which was also soothing and not overly sweet. We shared a scone which was baked fresh from scratch daily. Located just blocks away from the water and situated with an amazing view, Naked Cafe has nothing to hide but this hidden gem is off the well traveled highway 101 serving patrons inside and outside of their cozy bungalow-styled establishment. As you arrive (for many by foot), consider seating yourself at one of the many umbrella-shaded tables or venture inside to grab a seat. I saw a few folks with dogs so if you plan to come with your furry friend, the place seems to be well suited for them. For those looking to order takeout, simply walk up to the register and the staff will get you started. Their menu includes a variety of options like wraps, burritos, salads, bowls, tacos, pancakes, and other brunch-like items. Their drink menu is also extensive including alcohol like wines, mimosa and beer as well as coffees, teas and smoothies. You're bound to find something fitting that craving of yours or satisfying the nutrients needed for energizing your metabolism. I ended up ordering the pesto chicken wrap that also came with a side of chips. The wrap was loaded with succulent pieces of chicken and was very flavorful. The whole grain tortilla held up well throughout the meal and had good texture with each bite. The chips that came along were decent - had good crunch but lacked any kind of flavor. Fortunately the salsa came in clutch to kick things up a notch. The portions were also better than I had expected. The staff were friendly, efficient in placing our order and packaging it up, and thorough in fulfilling the order by including utensils and napkins as they handed the order to us. For takeout orders, they had given us an approximate wait time of 15 minutes and it was quite accurate. There wasn't much space to wait near the register so we ended up waiting near the front entrance near the sidewalk but after the 15 minutes, we made our way back to see that our order was in the process of getting packed up. Overall, Naked Cafe is a great spot to grab a light meal or lunch while soaking in so rays. With its open seating area covered only by the umbrellas at each table, you'll bask in the open air while consuming delicious plates made to order with fresh ingredients and healthy and sustainable options. For those with strict diets, you might want to seek this place out and see for yourself. The menu is anything but bare at Naked Cafe!
