My side was broccoli cheese casserole (I know it's sounds like a strange pair for my sandwich) and it was heavenly. I'd come back just for the side. I wish I lived closer, but I'm a traveler passing through and I was treated like a regular.

It was all so good! I also brought home a banana pudding for my son as she said it was her favorite and both son and I love banana pudding. I had 1/2 of my husband's blackberry cobbler with ice cream which was a huge serving that definitely to be shared. My husband enjoyed his chicken pot pie, sweet potato soufflé and broccoli casserole. I like how the restaurant got a perfect score on their inspection report, something to be proud of! Food was out in a jiffy and it was not crowded on a Thursday at 5:30 pm so we got a parking spot out front, but front lot was full by the time we left. Our server filled my husband's drink at least twice and brought me a second lemonade and even offered me one to go. The restaurant has very subtle signage, so easy to overlook this gem if you do not know about it! Come hungry!

Fresh grown gardens surround the eatery where you can witness where your veggies are coming from :) Absolutely organic and the flavor says it all. I entered and the cozy old school music playing faintly in the background made me feel at home in "Ma Mas" kitchen and the place was OCD clean. Staff of older experts warmly greeted me which one turned out to be "Chef K" herself from the food network #Surprised me :) We went over the well prepared Menu as the place filled instantly as I sat down. I was finally a happy camper in "Stone Mountain Village" food scene I had the fried green tomatoes and Salmon Crockets Made from scratch (OMG) NO canned salmon either culinary prepared from whole salmon Those flavors fermented in my mouth and I was a happy camper ate good Great to be totally be pleased with spending your money for great food prepared with LOVE! They seem to change the menu a lot; my friend had been there maybe a month ago and got things that…read morewere not on the current menu. I love that about this place! Because it's not a big menu with a ton of choices, but just enough different types of foods to give something for everyone - whether it's seafood or chicken, pasta, or meatloaf - it's just good food with interesting sauces. We had the grilled chicken sandwich and meatball sub, both tasting each other's and loving them. The only complaint is they seem to close after lunch for a few hours before dinner. If they stayed open continuously, they might get more business because I think the food is just too good for them to not constantly be crowded. The decor is clearly not what you're there for and the seats are just uncomfortable enough to discourage a leisurely meal (read: turn the tables over often); kind of a shame because if they stayed open continuously through dinner, had more comfortable seats, and less rundown looking interior they could actually attract a lot of business and stay very busy. Maybe they should try signing up with GrubHub, DoorDash or UberEats. Then you get to experience their terrific food at home. Looking forward to going back.

The side of fries were also good and nicely seasoned. There are no fountain drinks so I got a bottled soft drink with my meal. For dessert I had the bread pudding with bourbon sauce, which was excellent (although a bit of real whipped cream would make it fantastic). Our server was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is a bit utilitarian but the seating is comfortable and plentiful on our Saturday afternoon visit.

I have lived in and near downtown Stone Mountain for years and had been wanting to try this place…read more FINALLY made it. Me and a few friends tried it and when I tell you this place is NOT what I thought, but in a good way! First off, our waiter Ted was fantastic. All of us were first timer so he broke everything down, gave us a few faces by patrons and his personal faves. He was patient with us and gave us the best customer service. The restaurant itself is very unique. I love they had a small seating area with a small stage close, there's a private dining area, a bar and table and booth seating. It's not a huge space but it is big enough to be comfortable and cozy. Wasn't loud and even when the artist came up to play music, it wasn't too loud it still blended well with the restaurant noise. Ted emphasized that everything in here is made from scratch except a few things. For starters we had fried okra and a colossal shrimp cocktail. They both were great starters. I had a whiskey sour as well which was really good. I had a hard time choosing but I wound up getting the prime rib sandwich with mashed potatoes, my sis did prime rib as well but with oxtail collard greens and my other sis had the surf and turf special. Everything was so good! It's a good portion of food. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the conversation. Downtown Stone Mountain has a hidden gem here, I'm already planning my trip back!

I went with friends for a birthday dinner to Cherokee Rose. We choose this restaurant specifically…read morefor the prime rib special they offer on Tuesdays. It's in the downtown strip of Stone Mountain. Street parking is available but can be a bit scary when the road is busy. There is also a fair priced, paid parking lot across the street. The atmosphere is upscale inside. They have tables with upholstered seating opposite chairs for 4 or more and tables with chairs for 2 and also bar seating. The cocktails seemed average price. I had the sangria. We're ordered the calamari as an appetizer which I'm not normally a fan of but this was so delicious, highly recommend. My companions both ordered the prime rib special. It was a great deal at $20 for 10oz with a side. It was tasty! I ordered the smoked half chicken with green beans and collard greens. The chicken was good, the green beans were too crunchy. The collards had great flavor but the oxtail in them was a little tougher than I would prefer. Service was fine but not noteworthy. I only gave 4 stars because I felt the price was high for the food that wasn't on special and I expected a different type of service at this kind of establishment. That being said, it's a great place in Stone Mountain.
