Quick, why do the hot lemon pepper wings look like this now ? Did they change owners or cooks or something?

Quick question , why do the hot lemon pepper wings look like this now ? Did they change owners or cooks or something? It doesn't taste the same anymore... idk how I feel about this spot anymore.

What happened, Buffalo House? I'll have to find a new local wing spot. I hate to have to write this review since I've been coming to this place for years. I'll start by saying the prices have been increased significantly. Second, there is now an up-charge to combine flavors when previously I don't believe such a charge existed. If you want hot and lemon pepper, for an extra $1 you will get your wings tossed in hot and lemon pepper seasoning sprinkled on top. Want some hot sauce to go with your rice? That will be an additional 50 cents. Don't get me wrong the food is still good, just not worth all of the nickel and dimeing. Will they start charging for ketchup next?

Average. Wings too small but the flavor was good. If you're okay with tiny wings this is your place.

They have some menu staples, but a lot of their menu items change seasonally, and they offer weekly specials, so they have a wide range of good options. I loved the vibes, it is definitely a nice, sophisticated spot for dinner or brunch. The staff was also super nice. It took a minute to get a table, but it seemed like they might have been a little understaffed, and it wasn't a big deal. The food is the star of the show here, but they also have a great drink menu with seasonal options, as well as some excellent mocktail options. I tried the butternut squash risotto with salmon, and it was amazing! We also tried the shrimp and grits, which were really nice and comforting. You need to save room for dessert, though, because that sticky toffee pudding was on another level. The caramel sauce was so yummy. I highly suggest this spot for a great dinner, but I definitely need to stop by to check out their brunch.

I had 1/2 of my husband's blackberry cobbler with ice cream which was a huge serving that definitely to be shared. My husband enjoyed his chicken pot pie, sweet potato soufflé and broccoli casserole. I like how the restaurant got a perfect score on their inspection report, something to be proud of! Food was out in a jiffy and it was not crowded on a Thursday at 5:30 pm so we got a parking spot out front, but front lot was full by the time we left. Our server filled my husband's drink at least twice and brought me a second lemonade and even offered me one to go. The restaurant has very subtle signage, so easy to overlook this gem if you do not know about it! Come hungry!

Because it's not a big menu with a ton of choices, but just enough different types of foods to give something for everyone - whether it's seafood or chicken, pasta, or meatloaf - it's just good food with interesting sauces. We had the grilled chicken sandwich and meatball sub, both tasting each other's and loving them. The only complaint is they seem to close after lunch for a few hours before dinner. If they stayed open continuously, they might get more business because I think the food is just too good for them to not constantly be crowded. The decor is clearly not what you're there for and the seats are just uncomfortable enough to discourage a leisurely meal (read: turn the tables over often); kind of a shame because if they stayed open continuously through dinner, had more comfortable seats, and less rundown looking interior they could actually attract a lot of business and stay very busy. Maybe they should try signing up with GrubHub, DoorDash or UberEats. Then you get to experience their terrific food at home. Looking forward to going back.

It was so good that I ended up going back on another day, about a week later. It was relatively quiet for a weekday lunch hour if you want to compare to other places that are open for lunch hour. That meant to me that the chef who is also the owner probably could spend more time to prepare the dishes ordered. I ordered the fried Oysters Po'Boy with fries and an iced tea. Didn't take too long for the meal to come out. I cut the Po'Boy in half and the Oysters were large. The bread was nice and soft, not hard and crunchy like bread can be for a Po'Boy. Fries were nicely done, not too crisp but not soggy and greasy. Had seasoning sprinkled on them, but not overwhelming. Just right. After I finished my sandwich, I was wondering about dessert and just as I was going to ask, my waiter, Chris came up to the table with the choices of dessert. I wanted something light, so I picked the chocolate pie. It was a good sized piece that came with some whipped cream on the side garnished with a strawberry. Nice and creamy and not overly sweet. Hit the spot! I will be back again because it's got a nice cozy homestyle atmosphere. May have to try the weekend brunch.
