Probably 3.5 This place is so close to home, but we have never been here and we were in the mood for some bar food. I got the cheddar bacon smash burger which was ok. It was supposed to have mayo on it, but there was none. Also, lettuce and tomato would have been a nice addition to the two patties. My friend got wings, five hot and five hot garlic. The wings were a decent size, but he prefers them saucy which they were not. Service was fine. Our server checked on us the appropriate amount of times to see if we needed anything. We were there on a Wednesday and took advantage of their deals which was $1 off draft and $5 off hamburger. Everything was fine, just not amazing...but it is just bar food. read more

Standard heavily worn out wood furnishings, penny coin bartop, music is loud but the patrons are louder. Pool tables filled, game on in the center over the bar sized for the sippers at the bar. The lone bartender was sweet and hustling all by herself. Her bantering with the regulars shows she knows her crowd and they know her. Great service. Weekends are the peak days for the scheduled live music. A local bar open late nite for locals. read more

Moonshiners Bar & Grill - Local pint ;) - Chicken Wings Near Me - Grayson, Georgia

I've been to Moonshiners several times with my best friend, who actually introduced me to the bar. We've enjoyed the atmosphere and have had some genuinely positive interactions with the bartending staff, so it's disappointing that our most recent experience has made me question whether I want to return. Over several visits, I've noticed that certain security personnel seem to pay an unusual amount of attention to us. At first, I brushed it off. There have been instances where it felt like security was watching us closely and waiting for an opportunity to confront us. I didn't want to assume the worst, but the pattern became difficult to ignore. Last night, things escalated. We were sitting at the bar, ordered food, and took it outside to the patio. Before we went outside, security specifically reminded us to make sure we paid our tab before leaving. We did exactly that and paid our tab before we left the building. As we were walking out, the same security personnel came rushing after us insisting that we needed to pay. We explained that the tab had already been paid, but instead of simply verifying it with the bartender or checking the register, the situation escalated. My friend was physically pushed by security, and what followed became an extremely serious and dangerous confrontation. What bothers me most is that this could have been handled so easily. If there was a question about our tab, simply check the payment. There was absolutely no reason for the situation to become physical. I'm not going to label the experience as racism simply because we felt singled out, nor am I going to make an accusation of homophobia that I can't definitively prove. However, we are two gay Black men, and the repeated scrutiny and aggressive treatment from certain security personnel has made us question whether our presence is genuinely welcome. I want to emphasize that some of the bartenders have always been kind to us, which makes this even more frustrating. My issue is specifically with the way certain security personnel are interacting with customers. Management should seriously review how their security staff are trained to approach and de-escalate situations. Customers should not leave a neighborhood bar feeling watched, targeted, or physically unsafe. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because we genuinely enjoyed coming here before this experience. read more

We had a great experience overall. Our server did an excellent job handling our large group. The herb-grilled chicken, asparagus, and mashed potatoes were all flavorful and well-prepared. The cornbread wasn't really to my taste since it had corn in it (I prefer my own recipe), but others at the table enjoyed it. I'd definitely like to come back and check out one of their music nights. read more

High & low seating, wood tables, probably dipped in fiberglass, stage for live bands, not so favorable health score (82), bathrooms need attention, friendly service, but not attentive, probably because only one gal working the tables & running the bar. The food's okay, but the burgers are the best. Tender, moist, juicy & the portions are large. read more

My husband and I wanted to go shoot some pool so we walked in there on Saturday night and we waited for half hour for someone to greet us and ask if we needed anything NO ONE DID! So then we waited by the bar trying to get one of the bartenders attention, finally after 20 minutes waiting, one of the girls asked what we wanted, I asked how can we get a get a table to play pool, she said to go sit and wait for the waiter to come over to us! So we went back and sat down and still no one ever came! We wasted an hour and half waiting for someone to get us a table to play pool! They are the worst when it comes to customer service! So if you're looking for a place where you want to be treated with kindness and appreciation for spending your money DON'T bother going there! Go spend your money elsewhere! read more

Cool place! It fits into the bar atmosphere. People are friendly loud and it's just for a good time! They have every favorite moonshine you can think off. Why not try it I guarantee you like it, if you love the bar environment. read more

The asparagus fries were the life of this party. I ended up ordering two orders of them.... Great bar food, the vibe was off at this place. I had one drink and decided to call it quits. They have pool tables and a juke box and what seems to be a diverse crowd and prices are pretty good. read more

Ehhhh... it was ok.. the waitress started off rude but the minute I opened my mouth and looked at her and talked to her sternly with my brooklyn accent she fell right in line fortunately. Unfortunately it had to take that. So won't be going back read more

One of the best bars, Service is very friendly, and the Ambiance is very friendly for families.

After waiting 40 mins for my to-go order of a salad and avocado fries, (and only getting after tracking down the server who immediately found them in the kitchen, these avocado fries were cold, over-battered, and more like avocado nuggets. Sadly, most food here is bar food at best so if you want to drink and maybe have a snack it's a good place. read more

Amazing freshly ground hamburger. I was so impressed. Loved the French fries also. Service was good as well. Thank you!

Live bands good big variety of food drinks. Fun. Nice lively outside area. Blue mischief is the best with five long years. Great local

I have a new bar to watch my Falcons on Sundays! This is a hidden gem in Grayson. They have all kinds of moonshine, cocktails and beer. The food is incredible! I started off with the cheese curds which were amazing. I then got the grilled cheese with tomato basil. I damn near licked the bowl. Lastly I saw an item that I had to try. Grilled peanut butter and jelly? Oh heck yeah!!! It takes a lot to impress me and this place did just that! It's a bar so ladies don't come looking for dainty pictures or sculptures. You won't find that here. You will be greeted by endless TVs both inside and outside. Management was cool and took care of us the whole time. I will be posted up here again!!! #ashsaidit read more

the band was excellent and the food was nice. but the drinks were hitting, we danced and had a great time

The waitresses and waiters were nice but the wings were horrible.. Need a new cook asap.. Lord Jesus she brought my drink with a hair hanging from the top of cup..... I won't be surprise if they fail their next health inspection.. Hair was flying every where... who said something about gloves.. watched the girl at the bar dig her hand in the cherries oranges etc.... Where are the tongues I don't know ?.... then she scratched her head...... They don't wear them there! Not going back no time soon again! YUCKIE! New to the neighborhood! read more

I've been coming here for a year and it continues to be hit or miss. When they first opened they were a train-wreck. The service has substantially improved since then but when it comes to the food, I can't call it. My most recent visit was St. Patrick's Day. (Last night). Really nice bartender. We ordered the wings to start. My husband got toxic waste and I got mango habanero. Hubby's wings were okay but they were too hot for me. He said he liked them. (They are supposed to be hot so I'm not complaining about that.) When the bartender gave me my wings she stayed at our spot to tell us a story. While listening to her story I went to bite a wing and saw a long hair on top. She immediately took the wings back to the kitchen. (No apology). After a few minutes, new wings arrived and they tasted like pure perfection. Cooked perfectly and the mango habanero sauce was the best it's ever been. (I've had these wings a few times). Main course was steak with broccoli and Mac and cheese for my husband and salmon with broccoli and corn on the cob for me. ‍ Hubby's steak was okay and it was close to medium as he ordered it. Broccoli had zero seasoning. Not even a pinch of salt or butter or anything. But his Mac and cheese. OMG. It was so daggone good that I know somebody's grandmother was in the back cooking it from scratch. My salmon was over cooked and dried out. I didn't even know that a filet of salmon could look so sad. It was seasoned okay but absolutely nothing to brag about. My broccoli and corn were both unseasoned. I loaded them up with salt and pepper. I mean it was sad. It tasted like they were cooking for someone who had dietary restrictions of no butter, salt, etc. super underwhelming. The blue martini was delicious and I ordered a Long Island iced tea that was so strong, I had a headache in the morning. Although I'm a lightweight I was impressed by my drinks. I normally like to give a recommendation at the end of a review but I'm torn. It's always busy here so I'd say stop by to check it out for yourself but don't be mad at me if it's not up to your expectations. Also they do tons of events here like live music, poker, comedy and more. I would have rated them 3 stars but they get an extra star for the creative events. read more

Ordered a southern burger and chicken tenders for a Saturday night dinner with my son from ubereats. This is the second time the fries came burned up like this. Hard, dry. A great hangout spot. We come here on Wednesdays for karaoke and always have a good time. The population does fluctuate and sometimes it seems a bit older of a crowd. They're nice people though. On top of karaoke, they also do live music and other things. They have pool and darts in the back. They are kept up with well. There are ample TVs and they have a good porch area with fire pits. Service is always good and the ladies are always sweet and fun. The food is good. The wings are a bit small, but really well made. I will continue to visit and bring friends. We also plan on visiting the Braselton location. read more

I want to give full disclosure here. I am not "connected" to the owner or anyone who works here, but I've been a regular so long now that I might as well be. I come for the Karaoke nights and started coming since around last October. The service staff are great and attentive. The ambience to the place is a warm local flavor. The food is par for the course of what you expect to find here. However, I give bonus points to the Spicy Salad they have here as well as the Grilled Cheese sandwich and chili. The chili though, I wish they had a more spicy version of it, but that's a personal preference. In my mind the perfect Chili/Cornbread combo would be Jalapeño cornbread and spicy chili. The drinks are second to none. Above all, there are a lot of familiar faces here, and if you come more than a few times, you'll begin to feel at home here. read more

Ghetto is an understatement. This random guy ran from 4 cars away from the building after we entered & asked me and my 3 friends to step outside & asked for our id's. Won't return! NEVER AGAIN! Waste of $5 read more

I had not been back since Covid started but upon getting vaccinated I stopped by. I love this bar and their food however the service here ALWAYS sucks!!! So frustrating when you really wanna support this place but know you will consistently get shitty service. It should never take 15+ minutes to be acknowledged at 3:30 in the afternoon on a a Wednesday to just get A BEER! Even this poor lady is tired of trying to pay her tab. Love this place. You must try the cheese dip. Their grilled cheese sandwich w chilli is off the chain. And the steak and gravy bite appetizer (if it is not sold out ) is awesome. They don't have a very "stocked bar" for a tavern! They depend on their "Moonshine Cocktails" to carry "their reputation".....and, they aren't good enough to do that! They also need to improve their "live music"! read more

First time here! Hubby read they had open mic, so we came to check it out. Hubby liked the chili. We split a burger and it was cooked perfectly. Fries are real cut potatoes - awesome! Musicians were a group of older guys, but talented. Maybe younger ones show up later. This group sang familiar songs. Back room had pool tables and looked pretty busy. Nicki and Sasha kept food and drinks coming. What a gem tucked away in Grayson. We'll come back on a Wednesday to hear Karaoke. 10/26/2018. Argh, had to take away a star! Invited friends and came back again for open mic night. The entertainment was fun! Gotta say the food and service was not. Only four of us but food came out 15 minutes apart. What's up with that? DON'T EAT THE WINGS. Tasted like fried in old fishy oil - pukey . Burgers were good and the BBQ chicken was good. Where was the waitress???? Geez it was tough getting service. I get the bar was full but there were only two tables seated in the dining room. Hubby likes the place, but I don't care if we don't come back. read more

We went here on a Saturdat at 5pm. There were maybe 20 patrons, including us. When we walked in, they shouted at us to sit anywhere. We sat and waited a long time while the bartenders/ wait staff tended to what I assumed were regulars sitting at the bar. Finally gave us menus and immediately wanted our drink order. We really need more time to look at the vast menu of drink items, but my thought was that if we didnt order now, we may not see her agsin for a while. Drinks came quickly and we ordered. Food came quickly. We both ordered a bacon jam burger with hand cut fries. Fries were fresh and well seasoned. Burgers were above average. Service in general was slow and uncaring. I would come here for a good game or maybe an event on their stage, but not on a random night. Especially not a date night. read more

We did delivery from this restaurant and were very pleased. All of us got burgers-they were excellent- and had the queso for an appetizer. It was delicious and the festive colored chips were nice for the holiday season. A big plus- the burgers were cooked exactly as ordered. That may sound like a given by unfortunately it's not.
