BBQ loaded Potato

I enjoy eating at the Tater Patch. The atmosphere is fun, the night I was there, they had music bingo and it was a lot of fun. Even with the large crowd if people my server did an amazing job getting me my food and keeping my drink topped off. I can't wait to go back again.

Went there for Bingo night and food. Ordered the tenderloin sandwich which did not disappoint! Fries tasted great, but were a bit small of a portion for a place called Tater Patch; however the size of the tenderloin sandwich made up for it. Was in the area for a work training and this was the 2nd time I've been there. I plan to come back if I ever have future training opportunities in the area. I didn't win in Bingo, but appreciated the fun night and great food! The prices were also reasonable in my opinion!

Cheeseburger with an Egg and a side of Seasoned Fries

We stopped here due to other Yelp reviews on our way to our hotel for the night. It's close to the freeway! The place had a nice ambience with a bar and TVs. Waitress was friendly, bathrooms were clean. My husband ordered the Ozark Surf and Turf with two sides (baked beans with some brisket in it, yum, and broccoli, meh). The steak was good, but the catfish was the star of the show! I had a bite of it and it had a really good batter that made it flaky and golden brown. My son loved the cheeseburger he ordered that had an egg on top. I tasted his fries and they were well seasoned! I ordered the nachos. It was a very generous portion, but just ok. It comes with some salsa and sour cream on the side. Lots of ground beef and a mix of yellow melty cheese and grated white cheese, fresh tomatoes and lettuce. We would come back here if we drove by again. They had all sorts of tater dishes that we may try next time.

Pork Tenderloin Sandwich

A Giant Tenderloin Worth the Hype I'd seen billboards for this place along I-44 but never gave them much thought--until one caught my eye with a bold claim: a giant pork tenderloin sandwich. Challenge accepted. The restaurant says it's been around since 1965. Funny enough, I spent a few years in Rolla as a student and had never heard of it. Hidden gem? Maybe. The menu is extensive--burgers, potatoes, steaks, you name it. The pork tenderloin is front and center, proudly listed as their #1 pick. I went with that and chose potato salad as my side, lured in by the promise of it being "homemade." I've been burned by that label before. Will I ever learn? When the plate arrived, I knew I had a situation. This tenderloin was massive--I needed a game plan. While strategizing, I tried the potato salad. Homemade or not, it was surprisingly good: fully cooked potatoes with a mustardy, dill-pickle-forward flavor with chewy pieces of bacon that worked. The tenderloin itself needed a little help, so I added salt, pepper, mayo, and mustard from the table. I started with the overhanging edges of pork, paired with the dill pickles that came with the sandwich. The flavor was spot-on--rich pork, nicely seasoned, and satisfying. Eventually, I carved my way through enough of it to pick it up like a proper sandwich. The slice of onion and tomato tucked underneath made for a perfect finishing touch. This place is a solid pick for lunch or dinner in Rolla. Next time I'm passing through and hungry, I'll definitely be stopping again.

We were on our way back to saint louis from Lebanon MO, so decided to stop at this place in Rolla for a quick sit down and eat food. This place was quick to seat us. The server staff was quick to take our orders. The food was quick to be delivered to us. My youngest kid knows what she wanted to order right away for her drink which was sprint, however my oldest kid was indecisive, so her soft drink after gentle reminder to the staff came out with our food. The food has great portion size and filling.

Pork cutlet was excellent. BBQ potato tasted of charcoal lighter fuel and potato tasted old. Service good. Prices very good.

I ordered the "Standard Choice," and the bartender served me a glass of room-temperature liquid static garnished with a single, unpeeled potato. It tasted like the color beige if it were angry. When I asked for a napkin, they handed me a signed photograph of a local meteorologist and whispered, "The front moves in at midnight." Why you should go: The Seating: All the chairs are slightly shorter than you expect, so you spend the whole night feeling like you're shrinking. The Music: A seamless loop of a dial-up modem being played through a tuba. The Owner: He's doing a great job, especially considering he's technically three owls in a trench coat.

Mine was the mushroom Swiss and they both ordered the bourbon burger. We also ordered the crab Rangoon as an appetizer. The food was very yummy. The onion rings were crispy and very tasty. The crab Rangoon's are handmade and were loaded up with filling. My boys both got the bourbon burger. One of them really loved it and the other one liked it. He said that the sauce was too strong for him. The service was excellent. The bartender with the handlebar mustache was waiting on most of the restaurant and he did an excellent job. We sat out on the balcony and took in the view of the lake, which was beautiful. The prices were pretty good about normal for the lake. We will definitely go back.

It's the kind of joint where the atmosphere is thicker than a Sunday morning fog and the hospitality is warmer than a radiator in July. Since we're right there in the shadow of the fort, you'll find yourself rubbing elbows with all sorts of folks. They say you ought to eat where the locals eat, but in a military town, "local" is a relative term--most everybody there is from somewhere else, and they're all just passing through on Uncle Sam's dime. But at Hopper's, for an hour or two, everybody's treated like they grew up right down the street. If f you're looking for a cold beer, Hopper's has their own house brew on tap that's colder than a mother-in-law's stare. It's a sports bar in the truest sense--wall-to-wall TV screens making sure you don't miss a single down or a checkered flag. When there's a car show in town or a big game on, the place gets livelier than a porch dog with a new bone. Speaking of dogs there is a semi-permanent guest that stops by name of Norman. Pet him and you will have a friend for life. They aren't feeding birds here, friend. We're talking Burgers and fries of with tons of flavor. Sliders, cheesesteaks and wings, make sure you got extra napkins. I am not sure why but I think he also have vegetarian options. The staff is politer than a deacon on Sunday. They're attentive, friendly, and they treat travelers like they've lived in Waynesville their whole lives. Keep in mind they are pumping out a ton of adult beverages and food. A cold beer and a good burger are worth a five minute wait. Whether you're just passing through or you're a "local" who's only been in town since your last PCS, Hopper's is a solid bet for a good time and a full belly. It's family-friendly, high-energy, and highly recommended. And if you happen to be there when they break out the Bingo, hold onto your hat. They've got a unique set of calls and responses that'll frighten and amaze you the first time you hear 'em--it's somewhere between a drill sergeant's cadence and a tent revival, and it's worth the price of admission just to witness the spectacle.
