This restaurant has a dining area. There's a take-out counter in the back. There was an extra .50cents for the beef. The sign didn't say the special was only for chicken and I wasn't told of the extra charge, only knew once I got the bill. No big deal, but would have been nice to know. The food took a while to receive, I think they were cooking a new batch of food so there was a bit of a wait time for myself and others. The place had a steady stream of patrons at 3pm. You do not know what they are putting on it as it is all assemble in the back. The pita was nice and well toasted, not too thick. The filling was onions, lettuce, pickles, sesame sauce, etc. All good. The chicken was good and tasty. I am no Shawarma expert but I can tell how a shawarma should look and taste like with my limited experience. Tasty Shawarma's version is just nasty. I think they have it all wrapped up like a taco pie on purpose so no one can see what they put inside, which is hardly anything. I know $10 for tax for 2 sounds cheap but you really get what you paid for. I could only finished the Chicken one but just could not get myself to eat the Beef one because it was just so dry. I've had shawarma's all over the world. I spent a lot of time in the Middle East and yes, Middle Eastern Shawarma is the bomb. In North America there are limited options for really really good shawarmas. I went to the Tasty Shawarma that's right near the Costco in Markham to grab one of their beef shawarmas. I got it with the works meaning garlic sauce as well as tahini and it was really a good sandwich. I was very pleasantly surprised and it was under seven bucks. I got the falafel wrap and chicken shawarma wrap in a combo with wedges and a pop, for both it was under $20. The wraps were nice - wish I knew there were pickles hiding inside because I would have asked for them to be removed, but it wasn't a deal breaker. I had a long break from Tasty Shawarma. I tried the competition nearby (huge disappointment) and another 10 min away (which has closed down) I wanted to be fair & give Tasty Shawarma another shot. Afterall, we have been regulars since they opened. HUGE improvement! Portions (we always order the combo plates) were great, chicken fresh & still seasoned better than most places in Markham. Tabouleh is always fresh and made well and i haven't tried tahini or garlic sauce like theirs anywhere in Markham! My kids still love the food there. I grew up eating Middle Eastern & Mediterranean food. Happy to have gone back and happy that we will continue to get great food from there! Our experiences are always with take-out. read more

Unfortunately I was pretty disappointed with the slow service. I waited about 15 minutes for 2 shawarmas and there was barely a line. Adding insult to injury, when my food was ready, it was left on the prep counter out of reach for me. The staff didn't bother to pass it on to me as he decided to chat it up with another staff. The plate was huge and is good for two people. The plate typically comes with salad which contained lettuce, tomatoes, onions and parsley. Some garlic sauce on top with rice. You can make a request for pita bread. If you want "healthy options" here, they have grilled chicken breast plate. Just ask for no rice and garlic/tahini sauce (tho this really makes the meal). Friend loved it here too! Comfortable seating and quiet place. They don't push you out at closing time, appreciated that fact. Am I going there again?! You betcha. Should have agreed with the other Yelpers on this place. First of all, you don't see what is going inside your pita and how much. After ordering couple of burgers and multiple sandwiches (we were a decent size group), the buns were cold. I guess they forgot to warm up the buns (as in just-came-out-of-fridge cold). All the sandwiches were lacking meat. Loaded with veggies but not enough meat. For what you pay, there are so many other options there instead of eating here. If you're in the area and want something that's good, quick and extremely affordable, you can't go wrong with Tasty Shawarma. They have a deal for 2 shawarma for under $10 which is really great and I get it every time. The shawarma's are pretty filling, you can either choose beef or chicken OR you can get mixed which is what I always get (best of both worlds)! If you choose to get spicy, make sure you can handle spice because they do add quite a bit of hot sauce. If you get a combo, you'll also get their wedges, which have never dissatisfied. The food here is great but the staff here makes this place awful. It's the third time we are experiencing this behaviour from staff. Their website mentions that they are open till 12 am. When you go in there the staff refuses to serve you for dine-in even at 11:00 pm. They are rude and has no sense of customer service. They were telling us to be out of the restaurant by 11.30. Will never go back !!! We love food there so we go again and agin there but then Always get regrets with customer service . And this Is third time . If they close at 11:30 we went be that : next time b4 11:15 ; and this time at 11:00 still we got reply they close for dining . What to do now .
