My go-to shawarma place after work is this hidden gem located at the corner of Sheppard and Pharmacy. They're open late and offer great value, especially for their shawarma. I always order the mix plate, which includes a plate of rice and a mix of beef and chicken. The meat is seasoned well and has a nice char from grilling. I always ask for extra tahini and garlic sauce because the meal tends to be a bit dry. Keep in mind that this place is only takeout and doesn't have tables. They can get busy on certain times, so be prepared to wait. They only accept cash or debit cards. Overall, I highly recommend visiting this place whenever you're in the area. You'll be surprised by the value and taste they offer. Food: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Value: 5/5

Hmm was craving Shawarma so looked around the area of what had high ratings and Tasty Shawarma came up ! Food wise was pretty good ! We ordered the chicken / beef shawarma plate to share . Order was $11.50 not including tax and as the name says it , it came with both chicken and beef shawarma.. along with a fragrant rice and fresh salad ! It was a pretty wholesome meal . My partner loved the beef shawarma. I personally loved the chicken more as the beef had some unique spices I wasn't too fond of . In terms of location , atmosphere, it's not the greatest . Very dimmed lighting , not much customer services ie I came up to the counter and was pretty much ignored until I spoke up lol . The washroom was on the dirtier side that I ended up opting off and going close by to indigo to go instead lol. Overall I would recommend everyone to go .. for the food only :p and take it to go like we did

I respect this place a lot as a solid business operator and keeping food prices low while everywhere you see price gouging of meals 30%+ You won't find this place a fancy joint but it is rather a great take out place that you get a fulfilling meal that is fresh and tasty. It's a lot better than other shawarma places at higher price points. A go to spot for me, great taste and good value.

This place is well known for shawarmas on a budget. Located in a random corner on pharmacy and sheppard, parking can be a bit hectic if it's lunch or dinner time. This place is popular! Service: This place is about quick and affordable shawarma. They make your food as you order it. Beef shawarma: I've always found the beef on the drier side at this location, I wonder if it's because it doesn't get ordered as often so it's not turning over fast enough. In any case, the toppings inside seems fresh but just felt the meat was in the drier side and not as much. 3.5/5 Chicken shawarma plate: The chicken is decently moist and has good flavor. The plate comes with basmati dill rice and salad on the side. I really like the plate more and the chicken more. 5/5. Price: Super affordable! Definitely come here for some good shawarma at a low price!

The food here is really good. You get to pick the meat and toppings and they use a panini oven heat it up. Currently they have a special (no ending date yet) of two Shawarma sandwiches for $7.95 (one for $5.20). They also sell falafel. They used to sell Kabab but stooped about a year ago. As of 2019-12-09, they owners opened a Tasty Kabab next door that specializes in Kabab. They even cut a hole in a wall so that you can walk between the two restaurants. Strangely they also sell cheese burgers! It is probably for children who are not into Shawarma.

Been a few years ... Still going strong. Taking into consideration the price, portion, and food quality, this Tasty Shawarma location is A1 for me. To begin with, the prices are nothing to complain about and taking into consideration the daily traffic you know you are getting fresh food. Typical shawarma store menu, clean environment. My normal order would consist of either the Chicken Shawarma or Chicken Sandwich/Burger. The chicken sandwich with all the sauces (ketchup, mayo, mustard, garlic, hummus, hot sauce etc etc ) is def worth a try. Even after the renovation and expansion, Tasty is still holding up to its quality and taste at a reasonable price. I would recommend it. 5/5

A no-frills shawarma shop with great daily specials. The service is brisk, but the meats are not dry or overly salty. I tried the mixed plate with chicken and beef a few times. The plate comes with salad, rice, hummus, garlic sauce, and pickled turnips. Portions are reasonable for the price. Be sure to specify non-spicy if you can't take the heat. Parking is quite limited during peak times, but there are some spots on the side of the plaza too. Note: cash or debit only.

Food: good Service: good Price: good I ordered a chicken shawarma plate (no rice, salad only). It was $9.50 before tax. The chicken was nice and juicy. The hot sauce was really spicy! Great shawarma place overall.

After reading all the good reviews I had high hopes for this place. I went in to check it out and got a chicken shawarma plate. There was a line up and the guys behind the counter worked well enough to keep the line going. The place itself has a small seating area and it wasn't overtly dirty but it wasn't very clean either. There's also some random rectangular hole in the floor near the door. It's has short metal sides that jut up from the floor. Kinda odd and hazardous. The chicken and the rice were made well and the portion size was decent too. The pickled turnip was more acidic tasting than most other places. But the biggest problem I had with this place was the garlic sauce. It was so subdued with no bite. The tahini sauce overpowered the garlic sauce!! Tahini. Overpowering garlic.... I was shocked and let down. Also they don't have roasted potatoes. Just french fries. To those that enjoy a good deal (and don't mind garlic sauce tasting like plain creamy sauce) they have 2 shawarmas for $7.75. I can put up with weird hazardous rectangular holes for good food but they lost me at their (un)garlic sauce.

Loved this place up until my last visit 3 days ago. Ordered 2 of their chicken shawarma specials for $7.75 (that's 4 total). I also ordered a side of garlic sauce. Now I've been going here for years but what i saw made my stomach turn. I noticed when the guy came back from the kitchen with the garlic sauce, his right hand was covered with sauce!!! I mean his whole palm, not just his fingers. The sauce on his hands smeared the take out bag completely. What do you think happened here?!?!

Great food. Really fresh. Halal. Coming from a smaller city I was really excited to try this place. I have only been in the city for four days and this is my second trip here. I had the chicken wrap both times. They guys were really quick to make it even though there was a line.

I wouldn't call it the best Shawarma I've had, but it definitely has great value if you get two! Good service too.

The crumb was crumbly, though slightly dry. The beef tasted decent, though it was a little dry.  Ghacourma was alright. The beef was slightly dry. It came on rice which was confusing given the menu description. We got complimentary prepackaged lavash & pita on request to make the sandwiches, but given how simple the flavour was the sandwich didn't work as it was too dry & plain (since the bread was even drier & less flavourful than the rice). The dish was rather one dimensional without any sauce as the beef was very simply cooked. The rice was also simply cooked with pine nuts.

The hummus and eggplant dip were fantastic. Great flavor, great texture. The salad had crisp lettuce and shredded cheese. The baked potato bread strips add a great crunch to the salad. The meats were all flavorful and cooked well without being dry. Our favorite was the eggplant appetizer which had tons of flavor and texture - just so interesting the way it's put together. Price: It is definitely pricier than your typical restaurant but the quality is definitely high.

Since this was the closest restaurant, I decided to dine-in, choosing a chicken shawarma. Upon entering, I was greeted with a beautiful fountain of water, with large open spaces, which were mostly empty, given the time of day. I had walked-up to the sign that said to wait to be seated, however, the hostess was not present. I then greeted the individual behind the counter, whom then asked the hostess to come by. The hostess provided me with a menu, as I chose a seat. I knew that I wanted something quick therefore, I quickly ordered, then waited about seven minutes for my order to arrive. The shawarma itself was quite tasty however, there was quite a bit of lettuce, with not as much chicken as I would have liked. It was filling as well, keeping me full for hours afterwards. The price was also reasonable, given the amount that I had received. Overall, this restaurant did provide a tasty meal however, it wasn't as tasty as I would have hoped. There were definitely many items on the menu, making it hard to narrow it down to one. However, if I'm in the area again, I would definitely give this place another try, as the authenticity of the food seems to be quite high.

The take-out counter was open, so we opted for that instead. Most of the foods on display were ready-to-go and vegetarian / vegan. You can also order manakeesh (Lebanese flatbread topped with toppings such as cheese, spinach, and za'atar - akin to thin-crust pizza) to be made on site. We opted for the vegetarian mix-and-match plates, which came with either rice or salad, 5 small sides, and 3 falafels. Most of the items were pretty good, my favourites being the arnabeet (cauliflower), eggplant with chickpeas and tomato-based sauce, bamya (okra), and white cannellini beans salad. The warak enab (also called dolma or stuffed grape vine leaves) was flavourless and had too much ratio-to-grape vine leaves ratio (more rice inside that I'd like). The tabbouleh was way too salty. The other dishes were good though. Although the manakeesh was made fresh to order, it came out pretty fast. It was also extremely salty. There were a few small tables by the take-out counter, for those who wish to eat the take-out items on the spot. They packaged all the items very well to avoid leakage.
