I happened to be picking up from the Home Depot across the street and thought I might as well swing by since I'm in the area. It was just a regular old Wednesday hump day so I thought I'd be in and out quickly but this place was busy! There was a line when we got there, one when we left, and frequent visits by food delivery drivers (Uber, Skip The Dishes). The service was a little bit slow because they were interweaving a lot of orders together so it might not be the best idea if you're in a rush. One kind of funny moment was when we asked for no onions which the employee acknowledged, then proceeded to throw them on, but then quickly rectified their mistake. They told us it's the muscle memory kicking in. They are also cash and debit card payment only. The prices are actually very good for the quantity of food that you get. Their number 6 combo is two shawarmas for $10.99 and they are massive...the size of a golden retriever's head. Yes, an odd comparison but I noticed the similarity in size when my dog was begging me for a bite. You can get chicken, beef, or mixed as a choice for any shawarma order. They were very generous with the meat and with the sauce which is key and very tasty, especially the garlic sauce. The best bites were really the ones that had a bit of everything - sauce, veggies, and meat. One of the combos that we got came with a side of fries. These were fresh out of the fryer and managed to survive a ~15 minute drive home and were still very crispy. Amazing indeed! read more

After reading so many great reviews raving about this place, I decided to check it out for myself and see if it was really worth the hype. For me personally, it was a bit of a miss. The service was very quick and friendly, and the pricing was reasonable. But the Chicken Shawarma sandwich itself was just ok. The selection of toppings and sauces were limited, but the pita itself was STUFFED to the max ( which I definitely appreciated ) It tasted good, but not amazing. With a name like "Amazing Shawarma" expectations would naturally be high, so everything needs to be on point. The Aroma of roasting meats are enticing when you walk in. Service is lightening fast but not warm nor friendly. Ordered a shawarma mixed plate to go. They need to work on presentation, it looked like a mess. Tried everything separately first: rice is bland, salad needed more dressing, hot sauce was plopped down in the middle so I had to spread it myself, and what's up with the baby fork that can't pick up anything. Both the chicken and beef were tender but preferred the taste of the chicken over the beef. Other places offer hummus and a pita to go along with their shawarma plates. Is this good shawarma? Absolutely! I have been wanting to try this place for 2-3 years. It spawned my brief break from yelp as I couldn't bring myself to review anywhere else and I'm not anywhere close to it. So when work happened to take me into the area, I couldn't resist. Despite the Eglinton construction, it was fairly busy for a Wednesday lunch hour; however, they move people through quickly. Portions are very generous! I had the chicken shawarma plate and it was enough for 2-3 portions. Everything had great flavour. Chicken was fresh, vegetables crisp and rice was flavourful. Price point seems a little bit higher than most but the portion more than makes up for it. 3-4 staff behind the counter make things slightly chaotic but helps move people through. So I go back to the beginning, is it good shawarma? Yes! Would I suggest visiting this place if you're in the area and craving shawarma? Definitely! Is it worth me driving an hour each way to get it? We were craving shawarma and were pleasantly surprised to know they had daily specials for their platters for only $9 each. What a steal! Two platters set us back only $20 and was quite filling. We ordered one chicken and one beef shawarma plates. Everything was delicious and you got two sides with each plate. We expected the beef to be somewhat dry (it was), but the moistness of the rice more than made up for it; it was great rice and extremely flavorful. The chicken was also super tasty and a had a very 'homestyle' taste to it; reminding me of Montreal seasoning, and wasn't overly salty. The seasoned potatoes were freshly fried herbed potato wedges. The salad was good and included all the components of the pickles. There was also a cabbage based slaw included. It's a very comprehensive plate and for that value, it's tough to beat! They didn't overly douse the plates with tahini which is great but I feel we could have definitely used a bit more garlic sauce. I was running some errands today in the area. My husband mentioned the restaurant to me as a refference place. He has been buying for years the chicken shawarma. We just love it! There were a few clients inthere, the staff very serviceable, professional, smiling, and very quick in serving the customers. I bought three shawarmas today (for myself and for two sub-contractors): big portions as usual, a lot of meat and a big varieties of fresh and picked vegetables, very well spiced up. I come here for lunch very often for a few reason. The service I get form the proprietor, Nasar, is fantastic he is friendly and calls you by name, once you tell him your name that is. The food is absolutely great my favourite menu items is the shawarma combo and the hamburger combo. The shawarma you get your choice of chicken, beef, or mix of the two. The hamburger is so juicy and made to order, you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. Nasar only uses the best of ingredients and everything is made from scratch and made to order for a superior taste. I ordered a shawarma wrap. That's it. Not a plate, no sides. No extras. Just a wrap. 52 minutes it took them to make my wrap. They left my poor skipthedishes driver waiting 10 minutes, because they "needed more time". The wrap? Not worth a 52 minute wait. Soggy, too much sauce, too much lettuce, not enough meat. The wrap itself cost $7.99, so maybe my order wasn't that important to them. At least that's how I feel right now, they don't value me as a repeat customer. But I paid $16 - for the delivery fees, hst and drivers tip. Rude and terrible service. Food servers should learn how to have good manners - it'll make the world a better place by putting it into actual practice. My kid has food allergy to the sauce and we asked them to separate sauce into a different container in the same amount - not more, not less. This way other people in my family can still enjoy the sauce. They are making the assumption that we are receiving more from using a container and called us "fraudsters" and said they should charge us $5 for the sauce. First of all, if you are a skilled worker, you would know how to scoop a small amount or the same like how you would normally do when pouring into the takeout box. You do this at least a hundred times a day. You are in control of your own hand as to how much to give us. Learn to use your hand that is connected to your brain to do that. Calling names and accusing someone of something is not nice - we are all adults here. And be considerate to the health needs of others. There is no shortage of shawarma places in Scarborough and the competition is stiff so when I saw a new place pop up 2 minutes from my house about a month ago I eyed it on a daily basis. I finally had a chance to go in and give it a shot the other day. I went in for a late pre-workout lunch; I ordered 1 chicken shawarma sandwich with everything but lettuce and garlic sauce. My sandwich was thrown in the pita haphazardly and warmed up in a panini press. The sandwich was a good size (see pics) and only ran me about $4.25 tax in (they have a deal of 2 sandwiches for $6.99). The sandwich was a decent representation of what a shawarma should be but it did not blow me away. What I did like was that the chicken had a nice crispiness to it, the vegetables were all fresh and crunchy and the key to the whole sandwich was the panini press which gave the pita a very light crispness that I enjoyed. I do have a few complaints though; the gentlemen preparing my sandwich was simply throwing in the toppings without much care or consideration, a good shawarma sandwich will have the right balance of each ingredient so as not to overwhelm the flavour of the meat, the carelessness with which my sandwich was prepared resulted in big bites of nothing but raw onion or cabbage on a couple of occasions. Another complaint is that my sandwich was drowned in tahini sauce, this really overwhelmed the flavour of the meat, and their tahini sauce was too lemony for my liking. Lastly their spicy sauce was rather weak and had no kick to it whatsoever. Overall my sandwich was serviceable and I would put their food on par with that of a villa medina but far from some of the better places in little Arabia along Lawrence Ave. The restaurant itself is located in a small strip mall that is somewhat sketchy; the place is bare bones but cleaner than I had anticipated. The menu consists of shawarma, falafel and hamburgers all of which are very reasonably priced, one can get a decent lunch here for $5 no problem. If you are in the area and looking for a cheap bite this place is not a bad option but they certainly do have some improving to do. I have been living in Scarborough for around 2 years . I prefer to try out new places . I landed at Amazing Shawarma one evening and immediately fell in love with it. Their prices are reasonable and the taste is just great. They have amazing deals ( 2 Shawarma for 7.49) . The Shawarma are huge and will fill you up. Huge and so fresh and delicious with great spicy flavour. I also ordered four veggie somosa. This is a great shawarma place. Not overloaded with salt just lots of flavour, which means they prepare it properly and use herbs and spices(but not too much) instead of a load of salt. The most impressive thing about it is how fresh the food tastes. They obviously take great care to only use fresh veggies and meat and bread. It's not like subway where everything is in gross bins stored for days. The only things that I would gripe on was that the falafels were dry and they don't serve fatoush which is surprising. But I would definitely order from here again. I recently have been on a Shawarma eating craze and have tried a lot of different places. Amazing Shawarma makes the best. The owner, Nazar, seasons his own meat and makes many of the sauces. Also important is that he uses a shaver and not a knife to cut the meat off the skewer and has picked turnips not pickles. It's absolutely delicious. Nazar is very personable too. I drove a ways to get a chicken Shawarma after browsing their website which advertises amazing prices, arrived and learned that their prices are much more than what their website advertises. First disappointment, then he wanted to charge me extra for hummus on my wrap (which is ridiculous because all shawarmas come with hummus on them) and then they didn't except visa which kind of sucks too but whatever.
