My husband used to work here for a couple years when he was in college, and nostalgia hit him. On our way home from Cleveland, we made a pit stop at Tasty Pizza where Phil filled me in on all the memories, and what to order. They had gluten free pizza, so I ended up ordering a gluten free pie with sausage and cheese. My husband got a regular pie with olives, sausage and onions. He said that I had to get the sausage because that was one product he remembered was from a local farm and was always delicious and quality. I'm not normally a sausage girl, but this pizza was excellent. I mostly look down on pizza that isn't from Buffalo, but this pizza is incredible. I couldn't even taste the cauliflower in my crust. It is outstanding. We took our pizza on the road and ate it 3 hours later when we got home and it heated up wonderfully. My husband enjoyed his slices and said they still taste just as good as he remembered. I would recommend grabbing a pizza or two as you head home, or out of Cleveland back to wherever you are going back to, or even if you live down the street. Quality and delicious pizza. read more

This is the best pizza on the east side, hands down. It's hefty, the sauce has a perfect sweetness to it, the dough is just the right balance of soft and firm. And the bake? Very cool pizza place. Family setting. It's a little unique because you order at the counter and get your own drinks, silverware, etc. Not for everyone but if you are patient it is worth it. The soda and beer selection is very extensive. Deep fried wings are very tasty and hot wing sauce is good. Pizza is made from scratch with fresh ingredients and it is really good. The last time I had Tasty Pizza was over 10 years ago while I was in high school and I remember loving their pizza. Last night we wanted to get pizza so we decided to try Tasty's and got a pepperoni pizza and "homemade" lasagna. The pizza was ok, nothing special especially for $18.50! I usually don't order pasta from restaurants since my grandmother makes homemade pasta and many places over-cook their pastas. But, it said "homemade" lasagna so I wanted to give them a try. It seemed they bought all the ingredients and put it together in house.. maybe that's why they said it was "homemade." The sauce was greasy and full of oil and all I tasted was ricotta. After a few bites I had to throw it away. Also, the salad that came with the meal was the cheap iceberg bag stuff you can buy from the grocery store for $1. I really wanted to love this place again but it's lacking flavor and quality for the amount we paid. read more

I would like to give this quaint family establishment a better review, everyone was very friendly and polite. Unfortunately the things I enjoyed about my experience end there. Ordered a large pizza and cheesy garlic bread to eat-in. Pizza was quite expensive considering the sparse toppings it had, definitely needed more cheese. The homemade crust and sauce were quite good though. The cheesy garlic bread wasn't quite cooked enough, again barely any cheese and what was there wasn't quite cooked. I've been eating pizza all over the country for 50 years. We even have indoor and outdoor pizza ovens at our house. Yeah, we like pizza. Recently I was home in Lyndhurst visiting my 94 year old Mom. My husband went out to grab a pizza from Tasty and WOW! We all enjoyed it SO much! (Mom too). Only after tasting that incomparable mix of sauce, sausage & pep did I recall that THIS is the pizza my bunches of friends from Brush High School always got. The crust, the sauce, the amount of cheese, just the real deal! and this is coming from someone who has tried every possible interesting combination on flatbreads, and even invented some. We have ordered from this place on occasion over the years. Recently we ordered a pizza (Green Pepper, Sausage, Pepperoni, Mushroom). Rather than Green Pepper we got Onion. A member of the family is allergic to Onion. We had to throw the pizza away as we could not risk onion in the house. Spoke with manager and he got the owner on the phone. I was ok as mistakes happen but by the time I was done speaking with this A$S-hat I was pretty angry. He was telling me onions are in the sauce. Well the person in question has had their pizza before with no reaction so it must not be much onion; I don't know what the sensitivity level is. Anyway he is kind of giving me a hard time. When I said it is fine, not worth spending a lot of time on I said It is ok I just wont be back; I did not think it was such a problem. He then said look stop in and I will give your money back. That is all I wanted to begin with. We could not eat the food and it was not our fault it was made wrong; just make it right. I go there, on our way out to dinner (Opposite direction); to thank him and get my refund... We would have ordered again. So I get there and he has this cocky attitude and says I will just give you a gift certificate. Are you kidding me? Now I am on the hook with an obligation to go back? NOPE.. I refused the certificate and now I am out 20 bucks. He gives a crap about 20 bucks, it is principal. I will never be back and anyone I can tell about this I will. Basically 20 bucks was stolen and the only way I can get any compensation is by being forced to order again. We did not go there and order a gift certificate we ordered food that we could not eat. The next web site I am visiting is the BBB and filing a formal complaint. read more

I admit, it's been a while but I wanted to write a review on the pizza we got a while back, maybe three months ago. I was recommended to try this place by someone who has been living in the area (I'm fairly new to Lyndhurst) and he said it was awesome pizza. Well, he didn't lie. The pizza was definitely very good, but for the price of it (I have NO problem paying a decent price for a decent sized pizza - at all) I was surprised at the size. Fourteen inch, two toppings for twenty three dollars? Really? Anyhow, maybe it's me and things have gone up a bit but I'm also cognizant of how much ingredients that go into pizza cost and trust me, making pizza is not a really expensive venture, but if it's good it's worth the money. This was VERY, VERY good pizza, but I can't bring myself to spend that much on such a small pizza. Call me cheap, but I'll spend ten more dollars and get something that four people can be satisfied with. I DO recommend it though, just on the delicious taste of it. Grabbed a large cheese and an artichoke special from Tasty on a whim and was really impressed. I was enchanted by their red sauce - really velvety and light, almost like a marinara, but big time flavor! Plenty of cheese, too, and a buttery crust. Extreme bias here. Tasty Pizza was the hangout in high school. We'd go on Friday nights after football games and order the biggest, greasiest pizza we could imagine. We'd just sit, and eat pizza and just do the stuff that high school kids do. I love that I can return and the food tastes exactly the same. The dining room hasn't changed much, even though the front counter / kitchen area has changed quite a bit. But, the pizza is still Tasty Pizza. It's great comfort food served with a side of nostalgia. (For me.) Would I put this in a category as the best pizza? Well, without all of the history, no. But, pizza is supposed to be good for the soul. For me, this heals a lot of ails and brings me back home. You can't beat the meats here. I usually go full pepperoni, and sometimes mix in the sausage and banana peppers. Note: their peppers are the mild variety, and fresh. Don't expect heat or the acidity sting of jarred peppers. Great little pizza spot with an old school vibe. You order your pizza from the counter and then can either sit in their large dining room and eat there or take it out. The dining area is mainly self serve where you get your own plates, napkins and silver wear. You can also serve yourself beverages (including a decent selection of beer and wine) from their coolers. When you are done eating, you let them know what and how many you had and they add it to your bill. The pizza is decent. Good sauce and a great selection of toppings. I usually ask them to cook my pie a little well done as I feel like it can be a bit soggy/limp if you get a few toppings and don't have it cooked a little extra. I must admit I love Tasty's. A nice family run Pizza and then some restaurant. When I saw they have artichokes I knew I would love it here and come back again and again. Now they have whole wheat and even glutten free crust that is delicious and really nutritious. May I please suggest Kalmata Olives they pair nicely with artichokes and garlic white sauce and I'd be honored to order vegetarian and vegan cheese options. I ducked in here to grab a pizza when visiting a friend who lives in Lyndhurst. I loved it! It's like going back in time at Tasty Pizza, and that's what I liked about it. This is a classic, "old-school", neighborhood pizza place - good people, simple menu, quality ingredients, etc. Their selection of toppings is ample and thus has something for everyone. The price was a little on the high side, but that's to be expected from a non-chain like Tasty's. Totally worth it! The location is pretty low-key, on the end in a nondescript strip mall, with limited parking. They have a surprising amount of space, though. Tasty Pizza USED to be a good place for a relaxing salad and a slice. No longer. We were the only customers in the restaurant. I had a groupon, and was told they no longer accept it. OK, so we ordered our pizza and tried to order salads. Were told we had to go to the kitchen to order it. We served ourselves our water, utensils and plates. Not a problem. Pizza came out looking good. Not what it used to be. It was ok .. the veggie pizza had a lot of liquid on the pizza pan, meaning the veggies were not precooked and weeped all over. No one else in the place, so the manager and his 3-4 helpers seated themselves and loudly had a private party. What used to be a go to place will no longer be. Sorry guys, but if you changed owners, perhaps you should have kept their recipes. Prices have gone up a lot. $15 for a 12" pizza with a few slice of topping was not worth it. Perhaps the owner who seemed to be doing the cooking could have had a better attitude toward customers. Grouchy doesn't work. read more
