I'm not sure if there's a case but I like it, along with the kitsch-Ness here as a diner enthusiast. We went here for brunch and one my friends who's of Korean descent wanted to support them as is Korean owned yet offers the comfort diner food we know and love. I got the full croffle with strawberries & whipped cream which was a bit steep at $5 extra but it was good. The strawberries were plump and fresh. The actually croffles were soft, flaky and filling as it is a croissant-waffle. My friend got the crunch chicken Benedict which he shared with us and that chicken was so good. Very well-seasoned. Service was alright. We got the ol' overlapping service where one waitress gets our drink orders, and another comes for the same thing a minute later. There was also a little mix-up with orders but not a major deal. A nice diner spot that should we do brunch on a follow up visit, I'd go back.

Didn't want to gatekeep... but it's time…read more I've been coming to Roadrunner for a while now and honestly didn't want to gatekeep it -- but they deserve the love. This place is consistently solid. The food is always fresh, the portions are generous, and the staff are some of the friendliest around. Whether it's breakfast or lunch, I've never left disappointed. I usually get the omelette or eggs benny (both are top-tier), but everything I've tried hits the spot. Coffee's always hot, service is fast even when it's packed, and the place has that classic, no-frills, homey vibe that's harder and harder to find these days. It's one of those spots where you feel like they actually care -- about the food and the people. Just good energy all around. So yeah... consider this my official recommendation. Roadrunner's a gem.

Sad to say we had a really sub par experience here today. We went in around 11 on a Wednesday, it…read morewas clean and inviting which was nice, and totally dead inside. I've never been a big fan of the format of the restaurant. It's a sit down establishment but you order and pay at the counter like a cafeteria. It's annoying because you're expected to tip before your food arrives, so what exactly are you basing it on? We both had breakfast bowls, I ordered mine with the meatless bratwurst, and hubby had his basically minus all the veg. A drip coffee is $4 which feels pretty spendy for a drip coffee. Our food arrived pretty quick, however his order was wrong. Asked for no onions but it was chock full. He painstakingly picked them out as he didn't want to send it back. Each bowl was around $23 and yet only came with one poached egg on top. Again, pretty spendy for a breakfast bowl and only one egg. The food itself was a good sized portion and quite delicious. Save for the onions we didn't ask for. The service was lack luster, I had to get up and ask for coffee refills (the cups are very small) and the cream and sugar come in little plastic cups which felt super wasteful. Then the real shock came at the end of the meal when I asked for the rest of my food to-go. The server informed me that it was .25¢ for a takeout container and that they don't take cash. So I was expected to tap my card for .25¢ for a cost that absolutely should not be put onto the customer. Extra bag, utensils, etc. I could understand but I was being made to pay for taking the food home that I couldn't finish from an already overpriced meal (total with tax and tip was close to $70). Really left a bad taste in my mouth. It's a shame because the food was really great, but I definitely won't be back.
