We're back for their large karate chicken (their version of popcorn chicken). This is the only place I'm willing to drive to when it's not a convenient stop. The tea menu I am reminded are quite basic, and their milk teas are made with a non-dairy product. My Thai/matcha half half ptea was drinkable, though not particularly exciting.

Ordered no ice and came like this :( $8 each

Ordered the unknown, lychee peachee, avocado avalanche for $8 each and peach blossom milk tea 20 ounce of $5.95. Uber Eats. Avocado avalanche always hits but for eight dollars and 20 ounces that's pretty expensive. The unknown, lychee and peach blossom we ordered no ice and they only came 3/4 of the way full. Honestly you're not saving money by giving me less drink, I find that ridiculous and disappointing. The peach drink in particular came halfway full, not even 3/4 of the way, see pics. Just for that it does not make me want to come back here. Tastetea is not losing money on me by filling the cup a few more inches, it barely costs them anything. I'm not drinking the drink right away and therefore I don't want ice which would end up melting and watering down the drink. My husband and I just find this bad business practice so I don't think we'll be ordering again. I basically paid eight dollars for a half filled drink

Thank you for the cup of ice. I do love the flavor of the tea, but I don't think I'll be returning to pay $5.80 for 3/4 cup ice.

I'm surprised with the drink..why do you need to purchase the "top off" to have it filled all the way?? Shouldn't it be filled all the way if you got that size? Popcorn chicken was pricey. I got a large ($13ish) with much more tiny batter pieces than actual chicken. Looks like they just filled the bottom with the tiny batter pieces and then placed some bigger actual popcorn chicken on top. You can tell in the pic there's a lot of those crunchy batter bits. And the basil was just thrown on top (typically it's fried). Both drink and food tasted alright though. It's not terrible, but they can improve on some things.

Tastea has never been my go-to for boba because just by looking at the drinks and the menu, I can tell it's nothing special. But yesterday I was craving boba and karaage chicken, and Tastea was the only option still open and close to my house, so I desperately ordered from them for the first time and it will definitely be my last. The chicken was extremely salty and full of crumbs, as you can see in the photo, literally tiny pieces of batter that were overly salty. Of course, they also ran out of basil. I ordered a lychee freeze with 50% sugar, but they gave me 100% sugar instead. It was ridiculously sweet. Who even drinks super-sugary drinks these days? I honestly feel like I spent my money on salty batter and sugar water. Oh well, exactly what I expected from Tastea.

Just a PSA for those of you who enjoy your drinks without ice. If you don't pay extra for the top off, you will only get half of your drink. It's an interesting scam that they're running, but who knows, maybe drink margins are tight

I love their popcorn chicken but maaan their staff sometimes seem like they don't want to talk to you. Some of them are nice though. Lol also everything taste so good but the chicken sometimes can be so tiny. They also run out of basil sometimes. Their Thai tea is yummy and boba texture is really good

I love the food here, especially the karate chicken! I usually get medium for spice level if you like it a little spicy, if not mild would be a good option for you! I also love their fries, you can pick what seasoning you want on them! The bbq flavor is really good! The boba and drinks here are always amazing! I usually get their jasmine milk tea or the tea to mango for a refreshing option! I love the little mango fruit bits inside the drink! The boba is really good and soft. Since it's December, they have special red and green colored boba for the holidays! It's such a fun surprise! I also like how fast the food and drinks come out!

Bootea Shaker and Lychee Peachee

I have tried pretty much all the boba places in Torrance and Tastea is now my go to. The boba is always the right chewiness and the drinks always taste as I expect. I love the drive through, they are actually pretty fast. The missing star is mainly for the crew. I think they are okay, I mean they are probably mostly part time employees, making minimum wage. When compared to other establishments they seem a little less friendly and don't really seem like they want to be there. For me going to get a boba is a treat and it can be a downer when the vibe is a little low. Not expecting high-fives or anything, but just seems different vs other places. Quality and reliability is still important to me so the vibe is not going to stop me from still going there! Another plus is the food, it's nice they have some go to snacks to go. I would check it out! They have minimal seating inside and out. I saw someone who was not so happy with sweetness levels not 0 sweetness when ordering 0. Please note at pretty much all boba places when adding toppings it most likely has a syrup that they can't separate, so your drink will have some sweetness. I don't like it too sweet so I always get 0, but expect my drink to have some sweetness.

Ooh la la. Is my favorite drink. Nice staff, good food and drinks. Plenty of parking.

I usually love Tastea because the drinks are always good, but today's experience at the drive-thru was really disappointing. The cashier was extremely rude when we asked a few simple questions. He seemed annoyed, gave short responses with a rude tone, and when we apologized for asking and thanked him, he completely ignored us to chat with his coworkers instead. It's sad because we really do enjoy Tastea, but customer service matters just as much as the drinks. If the place was super busy, I could understand, but there was no line and no reason to treat customers that way. Hopefully management can address this, because the drinks deserve better service. 3 stars are all for drinks (:

I like this location because it's convenient and easy to order. They also let people do orders on kiosk . Staff is nice and there's not much wait time. Parking is ok but can be tough at busy times. Park in plaza next door and walk over.

When will oat milk be available again?? It's been several weeks now :(

Hi Nancy, we apologize about the inconvenience. We have restored oat milk on our online ordering platform and I can confirm we have oat milk in stock!

Which teas have the stevia option?

Hi Shellane, all of our teas can be made with stevia substitution. Hope this helps!

You can tell they put a lot of effort into their food and drinks. As for the ambiance, it's perfect for those who want to hang out and catch up with friends/family or to study. When I visited, there were easily 5 other groups and individuals studying here. I have a big soft spot for banana flavored items. A BIG SOFT SPOT. Banana Cream Pie Latte - this one carries the biggest punch for banana lovers. Banana cream the entire way from start to finish. Not too sweet. Awesome foam top too. I highly recommend drinking these without the straw. Foam top drinks are best appreciated when you get a nice 50:50 ratio of the foam and drink. Banana Matcha Latte - the name speaks for itself. It's a nice mixture of both. So if you're looking to feel a little healthier with the matcha element, then go for it. This was probably the prettiest drink of the 3 that we had. Americano - delicious and got the job done here. I naturally enjoy Ethiopian and Colombian beans. I brew them often at home. I was definitely wide awake after these drinks lol Strawberrynana Waffle - If you LOVE belgian-style waffles like me, then you'll find yourself ordering this again and again. It wasn't too sweet but sweet enough to easily go through 2 or 3 of these plates if you're crazy enough. Banana Walnut Honey Bread - the best for last! I really loved eating brick toast growing up. There were so many stores back in the day that sold them, and now I can't find them as easily. In fact, Caffe Bene is the only place in the South Bay that I know that sells them. This one brought me back to the past and put a gigantic smile on my face. Delicious, perfectly sweet, balanced, and finished wanting more. Highly recommend!

While killing time…read morebefore our table at Momo Paradise, we wandered into this charming little shop devoted almost entirely to chestnuts. One thing was immediately clear: everyone was ordering the snowstorm. Most people seemed to go with either the matcha or the original, though they also had other flavors like sesame. Naturally we followed the crowd and ordered the matcha. It's matcha soft serve topped with chestnuts, and it turned out to be a great little pre-dinner snack -- creamy, earthy, and not overly sweet. What surprised me most was that they carry different types of chestnuts. I preferred the smaller ones, which were softer, more moist, and sweeter. The larger ones were firmer, but you can buy them already peeled, which honestly feels like a luxury if you've ever battled chestnut shells before. It's a quirky specialty shop, but a fun one to browse. And judging by the number of snowstorms coming out of the kitchen, that's clearly the move here.

Hisaya Kyoto specializes in all things chestnuts, including soft serve chestnuts, and chestnut baked goodies. I came on a hot day and got their vanilla and chestnut soft serve on a cone. I also got one of their chestnut cakes. The ice cream was very creamy and definitely a good treat after my lunch. The small cake was not too sweet and light. It had some sweetened chestnuts inside which was really nice. It came out hot and went well with the ice cream. They also have cookies, donuts, and a variety of ice creams as well. They also have drinks like their chestnut milk too. For soft serve they have their fuji soft serves which comes with toppings. I want to come back to try their other items. The people behind the counter wasn't the friendliest and out items took awhile. The inside is small and casual and not really anywhere to sit. But they do have seating outside. There is plenty of parking since it is on a strip mall.

What a cute tea shop with a modern, slightly Japandi-inspired decor that makes the space feel calm…read moreand inviting. Their drinks were a pleasant surprise. The Thai tea was nicely balanced and not overly sweet, and the Jasmine tea was fragrant, thick, and perfect at 50% sweetness. That said, it's good enough for a place to go when you're on somewhat of a budget. The Dubai Chocolate Frappe was a semi-let down because the advertisement photo looked like it had a lot of chocolate. When I got my order, my first reaction was..."is that it?" The first several sips lacked the chocolate flavor I was anticipating but it was a fairly decent drink. It definitely would have been better with more chocolate as advertised. The Beef Teriyaki Bowl was a generous size; again, it was good enough. The TTEK-BOKKI (Korean Spicy Rice Cake) was extremely filling especially with cheese (which was a $3 up charge). Not sure I'd get this one again if I came back because the price point and the quality just didn't match. Parking is easy and free since it's in a complex with a now abandoned Rite-Aid. Even so, I'm not completely sure I'd come back since this place is small and the setup seems so cramped. It lacked the vibe I thought it would have based on social media posts. The staff could use a bit more energy and enthusiasm like other spots that offer similar items.

When the taiyaki comes out piping hot with crispy exterior and chewy inside with red bean, it's sooo good. I like their custard filling too. Probably best taiyaki I've had anywhere in southern Cal.
