Grilled prawns are so delishes but at $53/lb for 6-8 pieces kond of high for me. They also have lobster, shrimp, fried or grilled, fish (cod) & chips . We ordered today, 5 crabs, 2 orders fish & chips, grilled shrimp, large Clam chowder with total of $140. The swafood fresh, crab meats so tender and sweet. Unfortunately, I m writing this bc I found out today, this place will permanently close July 6th, 2026. This is the only place left open in this worn out area. The people working there said, the old buildings will be demolished and they will build something else. Too bad they will not return. So if you have a chance, go visit before it happens. This place is delicious and worth the 1.5 hrs from where we live.

GETTING HERE:…read more Ventura Crab N Spice is located a few doors down from The Habit on Telephone in Ventura. The footprint is the Winco shopping center. REVIEW: First timer here (what.) and it was so good! Quiet, not too busy on the day we went (during the week). I remember in my baby years of Yelp I used to note that a restaurant was "good" if it was busy. Post-shutdown and currently 2026, it's OK to me if it's ghost town inside. :) We ordered the Clam Chowder Bowl and Sweet Potato Fries. GREAT! The chowder had nice flavor and was thick, and the clam pieces were tasty. The bread was warm and soft, so full of flavor. Service was good. Love the vibe inside, too. Love the decor and the entire vibe. As much as I love seafood, I can't wait to go back to try their other menu items. Thank you for a great meal. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately, the experience was really disappointing because of the service. We were seated at a table without menus and left waiting for about 10 minutes, which felt like an eternity because the restaurant was extremely hot and there didn't seem to be any A/C running. Once someone finally came over, we ordered our drinks and the AYCE option. Our first round of food came out fairly quickly, but we weren't given any utensils, and our drinks didn't arrive until we were nearly finished with the first round. We ordered our second round as soon as our drinks arrived, but then waited another 40 minutes for the food. When we asked about it, our waitress seemed irritated and dismissive rather than apologetic or helpful. Because there is a posted 90-minute time limit for AYCE, by the time our second round arrived, we were understandably disappointed that we didn't have enough time to order a third round. The frustrating part is that the food itself was fresh and tasty. We really wanted to love this place, and it's unfortunate that the poor service overshadowed what could have been a great birthday dinner. We left with a bad taste--not because of the food, but because of the experience.

Authentic Chinese food, Beijing pies, dumplings and more ! It's an old building ... est since 1929 I believe. So old decor , nothing fancy and there are stairs to climb. We had red Mongolian Beef and General tso. Mongolian beef had a lot of veggies but beef was tender. Tso was crunchy. The restaurant was pretty empty . I think a lot of people grab to go because we were the only guests for the longest. The chef came out and didn't speak much English but was so excited to let us know he was happy to cook for us. Free soda if you pay with cash. We had cash and our dishes were about $16 . We left tip. Parking can be difficult.

The fish was FRESH. Perfectly crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. Also got burgers for the kids and hush puppies. The kids burgers were cooked nicely, not dry. For over 25 years, this spot has remained a "go to" in the community, and we love seeing these old school treasures continue to thrive. From the moment you walk in, you get those nostalgic, old-school vibes. Loved all of the decor and pictures of fisherman throughout the place. The service here was awesome. Super friendly and welcoming, and the gentleman at the register gave great recommendations. He knew the menu well and was able to help me out with some suggestions. Honestly, the menu is so extensive it was hard to choose, but here's what I went with: Fish & Chips (2 piece plate): 5/5. The batter was light yet perfectly crispy, not overly heavy, and the fish itself was fresh, flaky, and high quality. Paired with a solid tartar sauce, this is a must order dish. The French fries were classic and I loved their coleslaw. Grilled Thresher Shark Plate: 4.5/5. This one was a standout for me given how hard it is to find shark on menus nowadays. I actually grew up eating shark, so this felt super nostalgic. The staff highly recommended it, and I'm so glad I listened. The grilled shark was mild, tender, and full of flavor thanks to their delicious balsamic glaze marinade. If you've ever been curious about trying shark, this is the place to do it. I'll be back again for this soon. Overall, the food was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying and the best part? It doesn't break the bank. Prices were reasonable and portions were generous. Definitely check them out if you haven't already, a great old school restaurant in Oxnard.
