The Veggie hash breakfast and the stuff you'll crave for days after...

I CANNOT say enough good things about Taste! My bestie and I dropped in for breakfast last week and were treated to one of the most singularly AMAZING dining experiences I have ever had. I do want to begin by offering a few notes of caution to those "typical Dallasites" who want the best dining experiences life has to offer: while this is one, be prepared, if you prefer wealth to your humanity, look to dine elsewhere. Taste is a Democratic Socialist take on fine dining. Everyone is welcome and pay what they can. You will dine with folks of every color and from every walk of life, and everyone has the same rotating 4-7 item menu, and will be assisted in the dining experience by the same volunteer staff. No food is permitted to leave the restaurant, so come hungry, many do. Reservations require a minimal fee. The food is fresh and made to order, and even the entrees that might make you hesitate, yet designed to and will absolutely delight the tongue. Once done, they ask you to donate to their "feed one, feed all" dining experience to their best of your ability. If you can, I recommend purchasing your meal and the meal for six others as well. It honors Chef Jeff, his philosophy, this community and your humanity. You'll leave pleasantly filled by the experience in more ways than one. (Did I mention the FOOD?!?!?! Worth all pennies you are able to throw their way!)

Great place, great mission. The food was delicious, the service is friendly and great. The building is light, open, and comfortable. Everyone's a volunteer. It's just an excellent spot.

Parking is available on the street and location is pretty close to several businesses and hospitals. The space is nice and clean with a small garden in the back. The majority of the staff are volunteers with exception of the manager and chef. The concept is pretty interesting where it is pay what you can or want which limits you to trying only one dish (and one side). With the menu changing often, my friends and I wanted to try multiple dishes so we ended up splitting it family style. The portions are decent sizes which allowed us to split the dishes and still feel satiated. All of the dishes we had were light and filling with the right amount of flavor. Would love to go back and try other dishes!

Always an amazing experience at Taste! They serve up delicious meals while serving the community! The menu changes every three months and they have brunch on the weekends! Don't be afraid to check them out and pay what you can afford or what you think the meal is worth!

Great food and great staff. Took a little time to get the food, but the quality was worth it. I would definitely go again.

Ever since I been in Texas I've been hearing about Taste. People had mention to me about the kind of service that is provided and how cheap it is. If you only have .25 cent, they will take it and you get to enjoy wonderful food made by profesional chiefs. So, I finally give it a shot. I enjoyed that you can Park with out worrying getting a ticket. It's beautiful inside. Since it was my first time going there, they offered me a table right away. I ordered the steak which was cooked only 1 way but it was too bloody for my taste. Then they allowed me to try the fish. The outside of the fish was cooked but it was frozen in the inside after that it was my time to leave. Si Manila is a real thing if I continúes to eat that fish. As I got tell the manager she offered to re-cook the fish and it was just best for me to leave. I even donated and bought one of their cups. As I am walking out the manager was behind and I spit the frozen fish out my mouth outside and because I did that outside the Taste restaurant she told me that I was not allowed back. Now mind you I didn't disrespect her or the restaurante. But that was my interaction with taste at this place. Maybe the one in Arlington will be better.

I brought my mom here for her Birthday lunch and to support the restaurant. It was out second visit but it's been over a year. I definitely recommend making a reservation for this popular "volunteer " restaurant! We had friendly service and the food was good but not great. It did take about 15 minutes for me to get my hot tea, guess the station was backed up. I didn't mind since I was with my mom and no in a big rush. I like the simple menu with fewer options that we can decide quickly and get the order in. I like that we can help feed other people by leaving a little extra $$ if possible but you pay what you can afford here!! It's definitely helping the community and feeding folks good food.

However, I find the food to be quite a let down, not worth the price. I had the sourdough and it was good. I had the steak and fries for the main course with the upgrade cuts of steak. The fries were well seasoned however not all was good evenly and some over cooked and some undercooked. The steak was okay, the sears were bad and so was the overall flavor. Overall, I think it's a great place for a business meet up and if you are standing at the property but nothing too special. Note: this was lunch menu and I heard the burger here is good so many you can try that but I wouldn't recommend the steak at all.

We wandered into Little Red Wasp on Main…read moreStreet, lured in by a lively crowd and a menu that split the difference between brunch and lunch. A promising sign on both counts. We opened with a cocktail from the bar, which set a high bar for what followed -- unfortunately, not everything cleared it. The Deviled Eggs with Spicy Best Maid Pickles arrived looking the part, four to an order, but tasted like they'd forgotten to show up to their own party. Bland, flat, and in desperate need of seasoning, we reached for the salt shaker, which helped, but shouldn't have been necessary. The pickles, to their credit, were doing their absolute best and were genuinely the only flavor happening on that plate. Skip these. The pickles deserve better supporting cast. The Cheeseburger with Wasp Sauce on a potato bun, however, is a different story entirely. We ordered it medium, half expecting the kitchen to interpret that however it pleased, but it arrived cooked exactly as requested, which felt like a small victory worth celebrating. The Wasp Sauce is a mystery worth solving, and the house-made chips that come alongside are fresh, crisp, and dangerously snackable. Pro tip: order a side of ranch for dipping. You're welcome. We also added a side of fries, which were equally excellent. No notes. Little Red Wasp has real charm, great energy, a fun bar, and a cheeseburger worth crossing Main Street for. Just steer clear of the deviled eggs and order the chips with abandon.

FOOD INSTAGRAM: @northtx.gemz ****…read more WHAT THEY'RE KNOWN FOR: upscale southern food that has one location in Fort Worth and Austin! THE VIBE: super cute and spacious. Very upscale area so the inside is upscale PRICE: ~$70 I think WOULD I COME BACK? Yes! **** Overall Rating: 9/10 - I was surprised by how fancy this place was (it is in the Clearfork shopping area which is known as a bougie shopping center so not super surprised). - The biscuits were so so good I wish that I took a picture of them but I recommend those for sure! The fried chicken and kale salad complemented each other so well I highly recommend as well. - The deviled eggs were good but they are just basic so you can skip those (unless if you were craving it). - The pimento cheese was very good too it was packed with flavor. I wish it came with more bread but I'm assuming we could've asked for more. - A little pricier than you would think but honestly this place had so much flavor I'm not gonna continue to complain about that lol.

We started with the biscuits and cinnamon roll. I would recommend both. The biscuits came with a jam, honey and whipped butter. The cinnamon roll, which may look a bit underwhelming had a such a great crispy texture on the outside while still being fluffy on the inside. The icing wasn't too sweet and complimented the roll nicely. For the table, we had the pollo frito biscuit w/duck fat potatoes, Brisket Benedict w/okra and the Fixe Breakfast entree w/maple sausage and potatoes. The pollo Frito was delicious, the chicken was seasoned well and maintained crunch even within the biscuit. Duck fat potatoes were also good but were even better after adding some salt. The brisket benny was okay, the texture of the brisket was very odd and didn't really hold up to the egg. Although the okra had a great flavor the batter was a bit too thick which made it chewy. The Fixe breakfast was great and the maple sausage was perfect. Our waitress was Adriana, she was great and very helpful. Overall we would definitely come back and look forward to trying dinner one night.

However the bathroom sinks may just be an elaborate prank pulled on every guest of this hotel. There are many photos already on here, but the pictures don't do it justice. The sink is approximately 7" x 12", and has a mirror jutting out over a portion of it, leaving you with roughly 4-5" of functional sink space. This will be the smallest sink you've ever used in your life (and I've spent lots of time in NYC and Chicago, where I've used some very small sinks). Need to wash your hands? You're getting water on your feet. Shave? Better wear a bathing suit. Wash your face? A wetsuit is recommended. Accidentally turn the water on too high when doing any of the above? Bet you didn't know you were about to take a full shower! I'm not sure the building codes in Dallas, but apparently you can get away with installing dollhouse fixtures here.
