I planned a retirement party for my husband and worked Along side of Ashton who by the way is amazing at getting things setup . The food was so good and of course they have drinks to purchase . Ashton and her husband ( I forgot his name ) was prompt in filling drinks and refilling food and bringing plates and forks to us for cake . We came here with a group of 10 and were served pretty quickly which was nice. The service was really good and she kept tabs on everyone's drink and food orders really well. We didn't order any starters and went in to order the main food. I went with the sour cream chicken enchiladas which came with black beans, coconut rice and corn cake. I e for our food pretty quickly within 15 minutes of ordering. The enchiladas were average but I really liked the coconut rice and corn cake the most. They were both pretty unique side items that I haven't had with Mexican food. It's a pretty cool restaurant, and I really loved the decor. Blue Mesa has a beautiful feel to it. The lighting, colors, and decor give it a Southwest look and feel. Dress up or go casual, either works. It had been a while since I'd been there, but it was a 3 1/2-4 star visit. We enjoyed the complimentary chip and salsa. The hot sauce is good, but I can't say outstanding. I ordered the soup with a chicken wrap with avocado and chicken. The wrap was really good! I like bacon and they were not stingy with the bacon, so it had a lot of flavor. You can't go wrong with bacon and avocado! I also ordered a cup of coffee which I love! It has a rich cinnamon flavor with chicory in it! My friend got a burrito bowl which was beautiful! Finally made it in for the Sunday brunch! Wow. Just wow. We thoroughly enjoyed it! The food was so fresh and just delicious. I never imagined a brunch buffet with so many options. This didn't disappoint. We were greeted immediately and quickly seated. Our server Rusty was fabulous and kept our table clean and drinks filled. Highlights were def the unlimited, self serve guac, the unlimited mimosas that were topped off regularly, and the waffles....wow. They were perfectly cooked and had an incredible sweet crunch! It's a tad pricey when you first think about it but when you realize what it comes with, it's worth every penny. Come hungry. I will say the ONLY disappointment was there was no bacon. Sorry, that's a breakfast staple for me and couldn't believe they didn't have it but it's not a dealbreaker on coming back. We will def be back! read more

I'm gonna have to give them a one star because this is totally false advertising, I don't know what the reviewers are talking about. I called the restaurant today and was told they do not have an all you can eat taco buffet on Tuesdays from 5 PM to 9 PM. Very disappointing, she said that they only have a lunch buffet on Wednesdays and brunch buffet on the weekends. They really should get this fixed. I also saw it under Google search the same thing that there was a taco buffet on Tuesdays. But according to the young lady, I spoke to on the phone that is 100% false. read more

My work group (20 + people) met for lunch today, we so that about once a month. We have met here a couple of times and every time it's been a very nice affair. On Wednesday the Blue Mesa Grill has an all you can eat lunch buffet. This is a great buffet and the price is very reasonable. The staff was great. It's crowded and they still pretty much kept up with everything. The buffet line got long at times, but the kitchen crew kept everything stocked. The food was delicious and was presented well. They had black beans, rice enchiladas, chicken fajitas, vegetable fajitas, soups, 4 or 5 different kinds of dessert. I'm sure I'm not getting the entire list. It was all delicious. My group relaxed and enjoy ourselves, ate too much And will probably do it again. If you're hungry for good Mexican food, the blue Mesa on a Wednesday for the buffet. read more

We used to dine at the location (for brunch) on University. It was always top notch. Today, not so much. The tortillas were hard, the shrimp & grits cold, shredded beef fatty, and the entire space around the food became a bottleneck of folks at the eggs station. Perhaps more important to me, absolutely no queso...and the salsa separated. Edit: I have no problem saying I did not "ask to speak to a manager," but please understand, there's nothing they could do except apologize at the point I would have done so. I say this because you can't "remake" a disappointing buffet item. This, then, IS how I reach out. Further, our servers came by our table three times total, and one two of those, I made a point to say something loud enough for them to hear us. As is par for the course these days, they pretended not to hear. I expect at some point some is going to tell me I should have asked the server about queso, but when I said, "I can't believe they don't have queso. That's literally the only thing I wanted" eighteen inches from her & she didn't even flinch? We were not given any "order from a menu" option so if that actually is a thing...perhaps make it obvious. I assume during this type of service nothing else is available unless a menu is offered. To wrap this up, one of my sons folded up his napkin & stuffed it under the leg of our table to stop the wobbling. My chair and mi wife's both were so loose they felt as though any sudden move could cause them to collapse. read more

I initially visited a different location with friends, we moved so I took my husband and kids to this location. I spoke with the manager named Tara she was wonderful she checked on our table, Jesus waited in us and Emma took us to our seat. The food is amazing! The environment was nice and definitely on the more "vibrant" side of Fort Worth. I got the CHILE RELLENO-ENCHILADA COMBO, which turned out to taste really well. We tried this restaurant for the first time on New Year's Eve for lunch with friends. The atmosphere is upscale relaxed. Poncho was our waiter/bartender and he was fabulous. His suggestion was the Seafood mixed grill and he was so right. The fish was cooked perfectly and that was the best enchilada I have had to date. We also tried the Mesa combo and the taco was wonderful, along with the cheese enchilada. The black bean adobe pie was good, slightly sweet. My husband had the grilled chicken with sour cream sauce. Blue Mesa is just one of those places that gets the job done for an after work happy hour. The Fort Worth location is beautiful and the service is top tier. The food and drinks will always land on the mediocre side though. The guac was good but I still can't figure out why they don't just serve regular tortilla chips.
