Yet another great time at game theory! We make a 45 min drive here and it is well worth it. The game selection is great and the staff is genuinely happy to help you both with food and with playing your games! This time we got the chicken quesadilla, mac and cheese, and cookies. The quesadilla is huge for an appetizer and has a great semi spicy sauce inside. The mac and cheese was just okay, a little dry from the oven bake. The cookies are fantastic especially with the ice cream on the side. This time we sat at a booth, which I will say was a bit uncomfortable/awkward. The table was very far from both booth chairs, and I would suggest cushions on the bench. I was having trouble sitting the whole time without some extra support. And the table distance made it harder to reach the game at times. But I love this place and will definitely be back!

Snuck by this time for happy hour with a group of 7 coworkers from 530 into the evening. As usual, the pure joy of free reign of the game library combined with my favorite brussel sprouts and truffle fries was a welcome end to a long week. Everyone, staff and guest alike, were in a wonderful and friendly mood as I have come to expect here. For two happy hour drinks, two happy hour apps, and two specialty drinks, I walked away $70 lighter for the night. I really love the easy going vibe here and am always looking for an excuse to get a group of at least 3 to come around. I will say that this time I did have trouble ordering more since our server did not come by often, which was unusual based on other times I have come.

Went here for a Yelp event and loved the vibes. Tons of board games, fun atmosphere, and a great cocktail/mocktail menu. I tried the Notorious F.I.G. cocktail (fig + crushed raspberries) on our server's recommendation and it was excellent. The chicken and waffles were good but pretty standard. The highlight was definitely the fun drinks, and I'd definitely come back for cocktails and games with friends. just for the fun cocktails

What a fun vibe. Came on a Saturday at noon. Great brunch food, drinks and a huge selection of games to play. $3.50 per person and you can play as many games as you like. And Hunter was a fantastic host and server. This is a great place to chill and spend a few hours with friends or family to hang out. We played four games and will definitely be back.

What a fun spot!! They have so many games to choose from to play at the table. They charge for unlimited play and play without purchase of food or alcohol. The brussel sprouts had great flavor and could have used a bit more time in the oven. The mini pies were all fantastic and such a perfect idea. The chicken sandwich wasn't anything special. The skirt steak tacos had good flavor. The cheesecake was frozen and we were hoping for more fresh. The cookies were homemade and super yummy!! The ambiance inside is great and the service was fantastic!!

I pretended I was Figgy Smalls while sipping my Notorious F.I.G. Love this place. It's comfortable and inviting, I wish I'd have brought a ton of friends for game time! I ordered the bavarian pretzel appetizer, served with the stone ground mustard. Delicious! The Notorious FIG is wonderful and has won a place in my heart. I also ordered the bacon jam sliders and fries. Service was awesome. Hunter was my server, and he was being trained by Destiny. Great duo! I'll have to come back on a Friday or Saturday to check out the nightlife. Or a Tuesday for Taco Tuesday specials. I'll be back and ..."live every day like a hustle."

I saw this place when it was featured on the show, The Texas Bucket List, and I thought it was the coolest idea. Now, I finally had the opportunity to come and visit... twice in one week no less! The first was for an work-related holiday Secret Santa. I'll start by saying the staff were incredibly accommodating. Although we didn't reserve the space in the back, they allowed us to use multiple tables not just for the large party but to place our gifts and belongings. On this night, I started off with a drink from the seasonal menu - the Praline Old Fashioned. It had the perfect level of warm carmelized sweetness to accent the oak and boldness of the whiskey. We got several of the appetizers. The chicken wings were crispy and well seasoned - the firecracker is the flavor I recommend but all are great. The brussel sprouts were definitely a nice surprise. I'm not usually a fan of brussel sprouts but these were crispy and had that sweet chili glaze. The bitterness was tolerable and not overwhelming at all. Lastly, the favorite appetizer for the night were the Boomtown Shrimp. 12 come per order. I could have easily inhaled all of them if it was just for myself. This is a must get. For main, I got the popcorn chicken. Listed as their number #1 seller, I feel like it certainly delivered on quality. Crunchy on the outside, tender and juicey on the inside, and flavorful throughout. This was already a great first impression of Game Theory. Less than a week later, I'd return for a dinner with some friends. This time, I got to be in the reserved room in the back. There was a TV, a separate selection of board games, and built-in speakers for your own music if desired. To start off the night, we got the Bad & Bougie Charcuterie Board. It was a pretty standard charcuterie board. Highlight was the glazed pecans for me. For main, I got the mini pie combo, opting for the Aussie Meat Pie and Viet Philly. I liked both pies. The Aussie honestly tasted like a regular meat pie. I couldn't tell if there was marmite in there (then again, I've never had marmite before). The Viet Philly was the more flavorful of the two. The marinade of the beef definitely delivered on that traditional Pho flavor. To compliment everything, I did get two drinks. First was the mock-tai - tasted exactly like a mocktail without the alcohol. Then was another one of the seasonal drinks. This time, it was the Seasonal Depression. It was a cinnamon-based drink that I really enjoyed. Finally, to end the night, we got dessert. More specficially, we got ALL of the desserts. Literally. Simply put, all of them were absolutely delectable. My favorites were the cookies (chocolate chip and hot chocolate) and bread pudding. Last but not least, I have to mention the service. Every staff I've interacted with, on both visits, were exceptional. All in all, I'm looking forward to one day coming back for whatever occasion it may be.

This is the absolute best place to unplug and reconnect with people. You can definitely tell the locals love it and I can see why. They have pretty much every board game you can think of and it is unlimited play. The food is great too. And the portion sizes are very fair and so are the prices. It is $3.50 per person to play the board games but if you don't play, they just take that fee off which I appreciate. This was such a fun experience, we had a great time!

Super fun bar and restaurant concept! I stopped by on a Tuesday evening during happy hour (Happy Hour per website Mon-Thu 4-6PM; Fri & Sun 3-6PM but in person a monitor said Monday HH is until 9pm). They conveniently lay out their whole menu on their website: http://www.gametheorytx.com/menus/ If you want to play board games without ordering food/drink it's about $8. If you do order food/drink then the library fee is $3.50. If you come during happy hour, you can take advantage of their amazing deals and end up paying about $8 anyway to play and enjoy a drink. For me, I opted for the latter option paying $3.50 to play with friends + $5 daiquiri HH price! We also ordered Brussels sprouts and truffle fries for the group, both being delicious and huge portions! My party of 5 and I had a great time playing Exploding Kittens, Wavelength, Incohearant, Hues and Cues, and Uno (ending our night and our friendships (lol jk). This is such a cool concept, and I'd definitely come back to take advantage of their huge library of games and specials!

I really enjoyed my visit to Game Theory. Growing up, I wasn't really exposed to a whole lot of "game nights" with friends neither with family but this whole concept is really something I could get on board with. As a yelper I'm a foodie first. So we start there. Based on their menu, they have a solid food list and nicely crafted cocktails to pair with the munchables whether it's a charcuterie board, wings or boomtown shrimp. We came around 2pm so it wasn't busy, Selah explained everything well especially how they charge if you want to play any game from their extensive game library. This place is definitely one to come back whenever for another game night with friend or just some dinner, drinks or snacks alone. A solid choice on South Main.

Arrived around 6:15 on a Monday and found parking in their lot. I definitely came in hangry and placed my order with Kat. The beer was cold and the brussel sprouts were huge, fresh and perfectly cooked. The sauce was delicious and not too sweet. The "flatbread" was also delicious but was thrown together with little concern. One half had thick crust and the other extremely thin. The cheese, sauce and toppings were haphazardly placed on top. It was difficult to eat and I had to seek out more napkins. Complaining to Kat brought a manager to my table. She offered to have the flatbread remade, I thanked her but said the taste was not the problem; just the presentation. She said she would let the kitchen manager know. She then kindly removed the charge from my bill; I appreciated that gesture! I removed one star because

Came for a birthday and we were served by Hannah. She was kind, quick, and informative. The board games are abundant which was great. Seating is good, parking is rough. The parking lot itself can host about 8 spots, but the restaurant has space for plenty more - so be prepared for street parking and to walk unless you're the lucky few who get a spot. The ambience is nice; strategically decorated with a string art in the shape of Texas, bookshelves full of board games, and some more fun sporadic decoration. The menu has a large array of foods and dessert choices. My friends got various things, but the table agreed their truffle fries are excellent. Another crowd favorite was the Brussel sprouts. A friend commented that the pretzels were dry. I got the Nutella cheesecake and it was more chocolate than it was hazelnut, so I was a bit sad about that. I got the Mocktail Mojito and it was heavy on the lime, so a bit hard to choke down because of the aggressive flavor. Don't forget the board game fee of $3.50 if you buy something and $8 if you don't. They also have different nightly specials and trivia night - I can imagine that's a fun time!

We really had a great time here as a brunch choice, which ends at 3pm. Still a great menu to bites and sips. Server was kind and informative. Modern and laidback vibes. The chicken and waffles was beautifully presented and a perfect blend of sweet & savory.

This is not my usual style of restaurant, but some people might find it appealing it. The service was good! Our waitress was nice and got us our food quickly. The restaurant was actually pretty empty for being a Tuesday afternoon. The part that brought my rating down so much was due to the food being very average. My burger did not really taste beefy or char-grilled. Rather, it tasted similar to a frozen patty made at home which I would have enjoyed equally if not maybe more. The fries were not enjoyable to me at all. Fries are my number one comfort food and it hurt me to have to leave most of them on the plate to be trashed, but I just couldn't get them down. I'm not sure if the made the BBQ sauce in house or not, but it was overly smokey and I couldn't eat that either. Normally this wouldn't bother me so much, but my bill came to over $20 for just a burger and fries. It was very overpriced for something that was half not enjoyable and half average.
