I'm a 50 year customer of Tasta Pizza. Always excellent food and excellent service... until today. I paid $26 for 20 wings, and when I got them home, I couldn't believe how tiny they were. They're barely bigger than a slice of pepperoni! A picture is worth a million words! All 20 of them just covered the bottom of the box they were in. They would have fit into a sandwich size box! I called and asked for the owner, thinking perhaps he got different wings on their last order and didn't realize how small they were. WRONG!!! he not only told me they're using these because "the other ones were just too expensive," he also let me know that if I don't like it, I don't need to come back to his restaurant. Ummm, I like the atmosphere in here, the employees are somewhat friendly but I'm just a bit underwhelmed with the lack of flavor and taste with the pizza sauce. Apparently, the sauce makes the pie and this was not what I was expecting. I've had pizza from Brooklyn and I foolishly thought all New York pies were created equal. I will say that the locals love it as business was booming on a Friday evening. Sadly, I did not enjoy as much so, I will not be returning for pizza. I may consider their wings, subs and salads. People who live in Olean think this pizza is amazing but it's cheaply made SMALL sliced pizza covered in grease. The sauce is made in a garbage can...seriously..you can watch them mix the sause in a garbage can.... They charge $5.50 for four tiny slices of pizza and a drink that usually is 1/3 ice. This is a STAPLE in our community for a reason. Great pizza! And it has never changed!!! We would always go to Tasta after school and after all our little league/softball games. I now bring my children. It will be here when they have kids and so on. I love the wings. Baked not fried! Great taco salad! Good subs too! But the pizza is the best!!! A lot of the staff has been there for years. They call you by name. They treat you well. They know how to give real customer service. Tasta is always busy, great place for a quick and inexpensive bite to eat. You can order by the slice (square cut) or a tray. No complaints on the food or cost, good pizza for a large crowd. Not the best pizza in Olean but a great quick option. The staff is proficient and the line moves fast. Atmosphere wise though, we always get it to go from the Olean location, nothing horrid that impacts the food, there is just a weird "bro" atmosphere and a bit too much ogling and flirting. Our only issue was with the price. Online menu's are wrong. Called to try and get the advertised price of $20.59 for 21 slices but was charged 27.00 at the store. Manager could careless said true prices are posted in the store. It's a shame as they have good pizza but I will be spending my money elsewhere as management could careless. read more
