Let me start with this: I really wanted to love this place. I read reviews and wanted to book an appointment with Taryn, but couldn't find one that worked with my schedule. I was there back in May or June, and saw Skye instead. She was a nice person, but didn't seem open to hearing what I wanted for my brows. She didn't ask my what shape I wanted or anything. She only marked certain points and I trusted her to do the rest. She showed me how thick they were going to be and they were going to be and I agreed to have her wax them as such, but when she was done, my brows were thinned out and over-plucked. My brows were also uneven (one appeared to be higher up than the other). Last, I thought she was going to fill my brows so I could leave without feeling totally face naked, but she only filled one brow to show me how they'd look. Thank God my eyebrows grow back quick and I was able to fill them on my own to make them look even. I didn't have a terrible experience, but I don't recommend seeing Skye. read more

I've been going to Taryn Brows for over a year and I don't allow anyone else to touch my eyebrows. Both Taryn and Sky are amazing! They are absolutely worth the price. I've been places after growing out my eyebrows for weeks at a time to have them either unevenly arched or even worse having them pluck your brows way too thin while trying to fix their mistake. Have been going here for almost a year and loved it every time! BUT I just got home from my appointment and my eyebrows are awful!! I have been working on my arch for years and having full thick eyebrows. She completely took away everything! Precision! After waiting 2 months for my eyebrows to grow in I finally had my appointment with Epiphany. I don't think I ever had someone spend so much time and attention on my brows. She kept them full with perfect arches (not too much) and we have a plan to continue growing in my lighter patches. I don't even need to fill them in anymore. Great service and skills! Genesis worked on my eyebrows and she did awesome! It was my first time getting my eyebrows professionally shaped and I loved the results. She was very patient and gentle. I got them done back in February and I've been able to maintain their shape (it is now May). I had gave her a heads-up that I was unsure of adding tint since I never had it done before and she completely understood and offered to see how I felt about them after shaping. I originally booked for brow sculpting and tinting (1sr time trying tint), but after Elsie assessed my brows, she decided it was best NOT to get them tinted. For this, I love her! Elsie is not out to just "take your money," like most other places do. She thoroughly explained why tinting wouldn't work, and would only be a waste of my money. My brows were outlined and tweezed only. Because of the topical medication I'm using on my skin, I couldn't get waxed. Elsie is skilled in her craft. Genesis is a livesaver! My eyebrows grow in every direction, I have follicle damage/patchy growth and when they grow out they look seriously crazy. Their work looks amazing from what I've seen on IG. I was super excited to get my brows shaped and tinted, however, never got the opportunity. Apparently the receptionist or whoever that was at the front desk was unable to differentiate between Mendoza and Mendez. My last name is MENDOZA and she contacted someone with my first name and the last name MENDEZ about the appointment. That person canceled their appointment and so the receptionist in turn cancelled the one for MENDOZA. - if you're keeping count it's been about 3 times that she had to look at the 2 sets of names. How can you not read the difference?! Super annoyed. Did I get an apology? Nope! What I got in turn was, "Has that ever happened to you before, Jessica?" No! Taryn is wonderful but it is nearly impossible getting an appointment with her if you work 9 to 5 or more. The space is beautiful but a bit complex to find the first time you go. My particular issue and the reason why I never went back was because the business charged my credit card multiple times on my wedding day (I was very busy to deal with it right away as you can imagine). A new girl was on the front (I had been to the business several times before and this never happened) and I don't know if she did something different. My card was always on file and they never asked for it to swipe it until that day. I was too stressed out with the wedding the next day and didn't think anything of it. Citi Bank texted me to ask me if it was right as it registered as fraudulent activity and I texted back that yes as I recognized the merchant (I was already home when the text happened). Little did I know I was charged 3 times!!. After disputing with my bank, Taryn brows kept charging the transaction against my card on the most important day of my life after coming several times and being a regular. Never came back and do not recommend as I didn't need this kind of stress added to one of the most important days in a woman's life. read more

SO relieved to find this place. Short review: Amazing. Go. Long review: I feel like I've tried everywhere you can get your brows done: Blink Brow Bar at Saks, Spruce & Bond, Anastasia Brows, random threading places suggested by friends, multiple Benefit Brow Bars, European Wax Center. I was about to cave and try Joey Heely, where brow shaping starts at $70 a pop ("help me, I'm poor" - Kristen Wiig) when my friend recommended Taryn Brows. I booked an appointment with Epiphany. I gave minimal direction. All I said was that I don't do the whole "bold brow" thing and actually like my brows on the thinner but still natural side, and that no one seems to get them to match, especially at the ends. Not long after, I got handed a mirror and saw that my brows looked actually perfect. For the first time since I moved back to the city, my brows looked even and matched each other. They framed my face perfectly. I also had comparatively little irritation and redness, which is amazing because I have such sensitive skin that I can only tweeze, and even that often freaks my skin out. Bonus points for the tweezing somehow not being painful at all. Extra bonus points for everyone being friendly and nice. Extra EXTRA bonus points for allowing customers to use Venmo for tips if they don't have cash instead of making you awkwardly promise to come back after running to the closest ATM. Ugh so disappointing. I thought I found my new brow place. I came here several times and was really happy with Taryn and then Elsie who was the bombbbb. But unfortunately Taryn's schedule became very limited and didn't work with my own and now Elsie has left! The last girl remaining is just not good at all. I gave her a couple of chances but she's just nothing like Elsie was. She's not nice and isn't up to par when it comes to brows. I finally have an arch. Elsie mapped out my brows before starting any waxing showing me what she was going to do. I was nervous due to bad experiences, but she waxed & tinted my brows & now I finally have an arch! My long time person kept telling me that we would get there. I was wondering when?
