I love my permanent eyeliner! It's changed my life. I wake up with perfect eyeliner. I swim at the beach with perfect eyeliner. I jog in the summer with perfect eyeliner. No more rubbing my raccoon eyes and causing more wrinkles! Emilia is the best of the best. When getting a semi permanent procedure done to my face, I only want to go to the best of the best. I inherited my father's eyebrows or rather his eyebrow, because he only has one, as do I. And that's why I flew from Tennessee to New York to get my face tattooed. During my first visit, I was lucky enough to arrive in time to talk to a previous patient of Emilia's. She was happy in general. Her only complaint was that she felt the results faded too fast. However, she pointed out that Emilia uses an actual tattoo pen for micropigmentation where most people use a blade (microblading) and that she uses higher quality ink. She also informed me that the procedure set her back $900. OUCH! I don't know why I didn't ask cost before flying to NY, but I didn't. THE PROCEDURE First, your brows are numbed and then you have a consultation. Emilia drew some brows on my face; I didn't like them (I looked like my mother.), she redrew them, I didn't like them, etc., etc., until I liked them. Then we picked a color and we began. The procedure didn't hurt. It felt slightly uncomfortable at times, like scratching, but it wasn't bad. AFTERCARE My only complaint is communication, but most of this should be a non-issue if you live in-state. 1. The pre-appointment communication was non-existent. I reached out to them to ask for pre-procedure instructions; I feel they should have provided them without being prompted to do so. 2. They didn't call to confirm my appointment either time, which gave me anxiety coming from out-of-state. 3. I also would have preferred post healing instructions upfront as I would have made different choices. Perhaps the worst part is that you can't get the treated area wet for a couple of weeks. As I literally flew in before the procedure, I desperately wanted a shower. Other instructions? 2 Weeks - Avoid water, makeup (on treated area), lotion, pencils, sweating, exercising, dye, waxing, tweezing, laser, electrolysis, itching, rubbing, touching 4 Weeks - Swimming, sauna, steam AS LONG AS YOU CAN - AHA, Retinol A, Wind, Sun POST SESSION 1: Right after the procedure I was obsessed with my brows, but my excitement faded over the next several days as I went through the healing process. I had a very unusual healing process. Emilia shared with me that in 20 years of doing brows she has never seen someone heal like me. This isn't her fault, this was simply my bodies reaction to the process. For the first week was brows were shiny and swollen. They then started to itch and scab. On day 12 I started to get worried and called Emilia. She took my call personally and provided lots of help. Using Aquaphor, I was able to get the scabs off. But the scabs appeared to take the color too. If this happens to you, don't worry! In speaking to another micropigmentation artist (randomly ran into her, wasn't anything against Emilia), I was reassured that this is part of the normal healing process and she said the color would "bloom" (come back). After the scabs fell off and my brows healed, the color did indeed bloom. SESSION 2 During session 2 Emilia used a blade to try to create more hair strokes. This time I did have some pain. I'm not sure if it was the blade or the fact that my eyebrows were still sensitive from session 1. Regardless, it wasn't unbearable. My healing process after the second session was the same as the first though less intense as she did less work. BOTTOM LINE: PRICE: $900 is a hell of a lot of money to me. If they last a couple of years, it's worth it. It's so fun to take a shower and to wake up in the morning with eyebrows. Would I do it again? Yes. If I lived in NY, I would see Emilia again without hesitation. In fact, I can see myself flying back when the time is right. I trust her. She has talent, and she is kind. Her office is booming even though she does very little advertising and that says a lot. read more

Rip Off, customer support that emails you to schedule an appointment is so shitty, asked for $750 for a set of eyebrows, I wanted to get a scar fixed due to a health related issue and i was quoted $450 to get 1 little scar fixed off my 1 brow, 450?? when 1 brow ( the whole brow) costs about $375. What a rip off, doctors/ specialists like these are all about making that money and thats it, they don't care to help people, The customer service stopped responding to me when I asked how the pricing makes sense? They are so quick with responding when it comes to robbing people but wont respond when you have a logical question about $$, its not even about the $ its about making some sense about pricing since they pick and choose what they want to charge people. Tons of people are doing this these days THAT ARE ACTUALLY respectful and not trashy like the support I received. Disgusted. responding back to your comment- below is what i emailed- did not receive a response until i emailed back asking why I wasnt responded to? As far as rating you negatively, being in the beauty industry myself, customer service, interaction starts at the very first phone call which makes you decide whether you want to go there or not, if its a negative experience, it will be a negative review. Your staff doesnt respond to me when I ask why I am being quoted a lot? and tells me because it wasnt relating to the inquiry? Below is my email copied and pasted so you can read it here- "to repair the spot on your right eyebrow would be $450, including one complementary touchup appointment." "that does not make sense at all, its the same material being used for both eyebrows, you arent bringing any special material for my spot that is barely visible vs 1 tiny bald spot on 1 eyebrow. It does not cost $450. As far as keeping an appointment aside for me, this is about helping customers, not make $750 per appointment no matter what, i dont have bad eyebrow to be wasting $750 when I do not need to. A customer seeks a Dr's help to fix imperfection, just because my imperfection is not on both my eyebrows, it does not make sense to be paying $450, that is a total rip off when its costs $375 per eyebrow for a whole brow to be done.' your lovely staff's response- We received your email and appreciate your opinion. However, your previous email didn't seem to warrant a response as it was a criticism of our pricing. There was no question or request of service. I'm not a big review writer but I had to write regarding this. First of all, one of the scariest things to do is to take a chance with doing something permanent/semi permanent to your face! I have to say I do not regret it at all. Emilia is amazingly talented, and truly an artist. She is all business and knew exactly what I needed, the color and shape. You cannot trust just anyone to do work like this, you definitely will get what you pay for. If your even thinking about doing semi permanent makeup(I did my lips) you must go to Emilia. I called and emailed for an appointment for the eyebrow proceedure and I was given an appointment in a timely manner. The new location in midtown Manhattan is very easy to get to and convenient. Everything is very clean and looks like a high end hotel spa. The receptionist is very nice and Emilia is very professional and friendly and knows what she's doing. The touch up session is part of the price. Other places may charge you less, but you will find that the prices don't include the touch up. Also, not every place uses the same quality pigmentation. I'm highly allergic to many things on my skin so I was worried. But so far so good. In addition, I've had questions after the touch up about the care and Emilia got back to me within an hour via phone. They are very responsive and provide good customer service. I recommend this place. And I'm happy with the results thus far. read more

My story is pretty standard. Had beautiful, full eyebrows as a kid and tweezed them to oblivion when I was 16 (against my mom's wishes). My eyebrows never really came back from the years of tweezing away since then. They are fairly coarse and have some bald patches and I have been desperate for the past 5 years or so to get them looking full and natural. I've tried so many pencils and powders, regrowth gels, and castor oil. After doing some research, I came across Emilia and I am SO happy that I did! Pros: The shape and color are perfect! I no longer feel self conscious after washing my face or coming out of the water. After my free second touch up, I am very happy with the final result! Cons: While I don't HAVE to pencil them in anymore, I still touch up a bit above and below the area that was filled in. I feel for the price, there should be an offer for a third, free touch up if it is very minor (as mine would be). Third time's a charm, right? Overall, while it has faded slightly and while I would appreciate a third minor touch up, I am so very happy with my new eyebrows and am extremely grateful to Emilia! I doubt anyone would review Emilia with less than 5 stars. I did hours and hours of research before deciding on Emilia at Permaline Cosmetics. I first only got my lips filled in (with the 3D effect). I was so happy with her and results, I decided when that when I came back for my included touchup, to do eyelash enhancement done on both upper and lower lashline. My lips had very little color and, consequently, it was very hard to use lip liner - I could hardly tell where to even put the line. Also, there was absolutely no cupid's bow on the upper lip. Emilia drew in a cupid's bow and made them appear as full as they naturally could. When I show people my before photos, everyone is shocked and asks for Emilia's contact info. I referred a girlfriend for her eyebrows and my friend is just as pleased as I am. Emilia is NOT the cheapest you will find - but a cheap cost will almost always result in a cheap look or cheap materials (which you must avoid to have the colors turning a different shade over time). She has an office on the UES and also in Huntington, Long Island. She's the best at what she does. read more

I had the semipermanent eyebrow treatment done yesterday by Emilia in the Huntington location and she is absolutely FANTASTIC! She literally tattoos strands of hair among the existing natural hairs and you really cant tell which are hairs and which are tattooed. It DOES NOT look like someone drew your brows on with sharpie marker like it does if you were to go to a normal tattoo parlor. Permaline is THE place to go for this procedure!! Emilia Berry is hands down the BEST in the business. I had my eyes done last year and just had a touch up for summer. I couldn't be happier with the result. I love that I can run out the door with no eye make up on for the beach or the pool or sports! My eyes look bluer and really "pop" with the semi permanent "eye liner" she did on my eyes. I'm a busy working mother and I was in and and out for my appointment and able to go right back to work. I opted not to use the numbing cream, but I thought the pain was minimal. This procedure was quick and easy with a gorgeous result! She said there could be some minor swelling but I did not experience that either.
