The space has a beautiful scent that puts you at ease as soon as you walk-in. I had a signature facial and it really set a new standard for a facial for me. The facial and upper body massage relaxes you, I can't imagine not having a facial with such a nice neck/shoulder/arm massage again. The products they use don't have a strong fragrance -- every detail was perfect. They do give product recommendations after the service but there's no pressure and it doesn't feel sales-y or uncomfortable the way it can at other salons. I had my first facial with Anne today. Upon arrival, a pleasant smell hit me. Anne was very kind, asked me how my day was and offered me water. She went over some of my skin care history and current routine with me. The calming facial I received was refreshing. I felt cold things, hot things, a zappy thing, pinching thing, steam, and more. She also massaged my neck and hands. She gave me some great recommendations and I got a little eye treatment complimentary. A perfect facial is difficult to come by. We all have our weird picky things, and if you get them frequently, you know each esthetician is going to have their own flair. But Jennifer will make your trek through 95+ degrees weather worth it for that level of nirvana you will reach during your most perfect magical hour with her. I have been to Korea for several hype facials, and I will say hands down my facial with Jennifer was the best experience ever. Specifically, I chose the Blueberry Detox Firming Facial (w/ Microcurrent & Peel), and it was pure bliss, and after 2.5 weeks I feel like my skin looks better than before our facial. There are crucial aspects of a facial that I personally look for. Calming vibes throughout my time, attention to detail in hygiene and product choice, level of care in the different services you may have chosen, and of course what your skin feels like right after and then after a week or two. WORST SKINCARE PLACE IN NEW YORK...ABSOLUTELY AVOID AMY. I visited Pretty Please for a facial treatment. After reading a lot of reviews and seeing Jennifer's reels on Instagram, I was very excited about the visit and was looking forward to a pleasant experience. However, I must say I am very disappointed and unhappy about my experience. I initially wanted to book with Jennifer but when I called I was told that Jennifer was fully booked and that all staff performs treatment just like her. Amy was warm and kind at first, and I enjoyed our chit chat before the treatment started. I also liked the atmosphere and the vibe of Pretty Please very much, and felt very relaxed when I first walked in. However, when I lied down and she took a close look at my face, she informed me that I had a coldsore and asked me to reschedule the appointment. I told her that my coldsore had already healed based on what the doctor said and what she saw was a scar. Nevertheless, she said as long as she can see something on my face, there is a risk that she could be infected. I understood and respected the policy, and so I asked if we could do something else, such as a back facial, since I didn't want to waste her time. She agreed and we ended up doing the back facial. However, the experience was horrible. First, the treatment only lasted less than 30 minutes, even though she told me that the treatment would last for 1 hour. I understand that we had spent some time in the beginning trying to sort out the facial issue, but I'd appreciate it if she could tell me upfront that the treatment time would be reduced. Also, her hands were very cold and it was a bad experience to have cold hands constantly rubbing my back. The treatment itself was terrible; she basically applied different oils on my back with no skills whatsoever. When we ended the treatment in less than 30 minutes, she emphasized again how my coldsore could've caused a risk to her and her customers. I felt a bit uncomfortable that she had to keep mentioning this, given that I had already told her that I appreciate the situation and had switched to a different treatment so that I could still pay for her time and service. Furthermore, when they sent an automated email asking for feedback after the visit, I spent a long time expressing my concerns but no one ever got back to me. They clearly don't care about customer satisfaction (not when it's expressed privately). Overall, my experience was very bad because of the way she treated me. More importantly, the back facial was totally not worth the price based on what I described above. There are so many facial places in New York with much better customer service and expertise. I came here based on a friend's recommendation! My friend was treating me for my birthday and wow! It was such a good experience. Their intake process is comprehensive. It reminded me of a medical office with some of the questions they were asking but nothing too complicated. If anything I felt reassured that they knew what they were doing. My aesthetician analyzes my skin and then makes a recommendation on the type of treatment I should do. She recommended that I do something hydrating and a microdermabrasion. I opted to pay and extra $55 for that add on. Initially I didn't notice a difference but the next day my skin looked noticeably brighter so I would def do this again. Although online reviews say this is very temporary. Also they gave me a free sample of lactic acid to encourage me to use chemical exfoliants to renew my skin. I appreciated this! I just had another facial here this past weekend and I realized that I think I have been getting facials here for maybe 9 almost 10 years!! I have never ever desired getting a facial somewhere else in NYC. I consistently get the Clear It & Glow and I literally always leave GLOWING and any breakouts significantly less red and smaller in size. Hi Jennnifer, Your esthetician scratched me with her nails. She apologized and I didn't realize it was as bad as it was. We can talk more on the phone but she 100 percent scratched me, acknowledged it and moved on because I didn't want it to ruin my facial. I'm telling you, the next day I noticed it and it was from her nails. I can talk to her and she can lie to my face if she wants. It's not ok to say that I'm making this up because I know this happened and the scar is still thwre. I'm saying please please please make sure your estheticians are more careful. I know what happened and she knows it too because she apologized right away for scratching me. I also threw in a few additional services (screenshot below of exactly what I got). What I asked for is exactly what I got. Sarah was my esthetician as Anne didn't have any availability. I felt like I was cheating on Anne, but I was assured they are one big happy family. Sarah was amazing. All of the estheticians have lovely skin which is a plus and very telling. I've written a few reviews in the past for Pretty Please, but wanted to post a quick post-COVID update. It's been a few years since I've been there, but quality is still top notch. Still the same homey, warm, and friendly environment that it's always been. I was greeted back with so much excitement and I was so happy to be back! It's so lovely to see a business maintain its quality throughout the years and remember their clientele, even from many years ago. They still use their high quality Eminence products, and Jen maintained the same style of "nothing too aggressive" (they do extractions, but they don't force them out). I'm personally not a fan of being too aggressive with extractions, actives, etc, so I love that it's gentle enough while she took plenty of junk out of my more congested areas. I feel safe knowing that my face won't be damaged at the end of my facial. The place has always been very clean, so I had no doubts or concerns about walking in there. A nice touch is that they even leave you a bottle of water and a clean post-facial mask! Absolutely love that. It's these thoughtful touches and the wonderful people that keeps me going back. Overall, a refreshing experience. My skin felt clean and Natasha was pleasant. Two things on my wish list. This experience was a gift from my husband. I believe he went with the signature facial package. He paid $130 Back in Feb 2022 ( is 150$ as of this writing in May 2022) But my bill ended up being 190 with add ons. 1. A warmer blanket. Maybe an electric blanket to really keep warm? I was cold during the whole experience. It didn't make things miserable as I was still doing ok. But I just couldn't fully relax. 2. Natasha did her thing and made my skin feel fantastic. But I was waiting for the 15-20 minutes where they dim the lights and leave you there to just relax. I thought this was common practice as this is done at at the other facial spas I've frequented. Sadly, this 20 minutes did not happen. There is a small massage of the shoulders and arms though. Perhaps by ending right in the hour they are maximising the time and money they can make by having more clients in the day. But that 20 minutes of quiet would have been the " icing on my cake! " So the big question: would I come back? Yes, If I wanted something quick and on the dot. No, If I wanted a fully relaxing experience. Another thing: the reservation system Might have a glitch. So call and email to check Your reservation. I got a cancellation email AFTER I confirmed for my Feb 2022 appointment. Then, sometime in April 2022, I got an email from them saying I will be charged a cancellation fee because I didn't show up to an appointment. Problem is, I never made an appointment in April, didn't get any emails about it and never confirmed an April appointment. So, not sure what's going on there.. lesson time be learned : Call to confirm and don't rely on their online system to get it right. read more

I feel like I've been looking for this place since I moved to New York over 8 years ago. I love the Eminence brand. But last time I had a facial in New York at another location who use Eminence products, I came out looking bright red and that redness lasted for 4 or 5 days. Today with Natasha, I came out absolutely GLOWING. No redness at all. Just beautiful, healthy skin. So even though the last place used the same products as this one, the difference is in the skill of the team here at Pretty Please. Natasha is absolutely BRILLIANT. So knows skin, you can tell it's her passion. She listened carefully and treats your skin with sensitivity and care. And the results are way above any other facial I have ever had. I think it's very much a case of having someone who knows the products AND knows how to use them to the best effect.
