Great home style southern food at very reasonable prices. Friendly staff and atmosphere. I have always felt welcome here. They have coloring supplies for the kids and lots of cool mementos of local history.

Cat fish sandwich and Hush Puppies

The service was great! I had two catfish sandwiches and hush puppies, the catfish was very good and flakey and the roll it came on was really good. The hush puppies were good too but alittle burnt. Overall pretty good!

I think what I enjoyed most about this Bar-B-Q eatery was the true down home country meal feel. The servers seem like family, and treat you like family as well. The food was good, and we just did a little treat taste testing since our plan a didn't work out outing whise this was a nice runner up nearby activity that even has a little old country store area where I was able to purchase a bottle of sorghum syrup...not every day you find that, so that was a little added bonus to the day! Sometimes plan b's work out even better then your plan a's, so always stay flexible and enjoy the journey...each precious moment your given!

Country fried steak

Looking for a BBQ restaurant? This is not it. Even though they have chopped or pulled pork, it is a country cafe/dinner kinda restaurant with a lot of southern favorites & little bbq selection. Started off with fried pickles, full spears in a dill breading that was fried golden. Some spear clumps had raw dough, but it wasn't bad. The pulled pork is the Carolina style, over use of vinegar, but was able to eat. Gizmo ordered the country fried steak. Smothered in a salty brown gravy with onions, reminded her of lunchroom style food. The slaw and baked beans were good. The service was great and friendly. Glad we stopped in, but we probably won't be back through this way again.

I pass this place everyday on my route. It's the definition of a hole in the wall. The place always has cars outside and the food is delicious. I've made it my mission to have a sandwich a day trying each menu item and the ladies that work there are so kind and helpful. I want to sit down and one day and try their dinners. I've had the bbq sandwich, crab cake, chicken filet and the chick wagon and omg they are all phenomenal. You can't beat the price for the food either. I'll be going here daily I took pictures of their menu so you can't see how much they offer.

Corn nuggets, bbq, slaw, hush puppies and onion rings. Yum!

1st experience with NC BBQ and now I want to try it all! (okay, I already wanted to try it all, but dang was it delicious!!!) I tried the BBQ and slaw and the corn nuggets. Altogether yum!! Tip: Don't drive while under the influence of bbq. Definitely made a left turn out there onto a one way road going the opposite direction... still worth it! Mind the right turn. GOD Bless!!!!

The food was great. Loved the catfish and the cheeseburger the two different times we ate there after jobs.

Good eastern NC style BBQ. My sandwich was finely minced. However, would have preferred chopped. Flavor was very good. Excellent fries.

I especially appreciate that they accommodate my special request for their mouthwatering pulled pork without sauce whenever possible. The seasoning and flavors are always spot on. The chicken tenders are unlike any I've ever had--perfectly breaded with a texture and taste that really stand out. Pair them with the awesome sauce, and it's perfection. Every side dish is a hit, but the broccoli salad is my personal favorite. My kids can't get enough of the fries and mac and cheese! To top it all off, the ice cream and milkshakes are extra creamy--you can definitely tell they use high-quality ingredients. We've sampled just about everything on the menu, and every single dish has been outstanding. QDaddy's is a must-visit!

The wait staff were super nice and accommodating so that was nice. Ordered a 10pc chicken tenders with macaroni and cheese, a brisket sando with a side of baked beans and broccoli bacon salad. The tenders was ordered as a meal, but for some reason a drink is not included in the meal. The brisket sando was okay, a little dry so I had to hit it with the spicy sweet bbq sauce (which was just sweet, no spice at all). I ordered the brisket sando based on the dude in front of me who got the pulled pork sando, and when I watched the server put a huge scoop of pulled pork on the bread I just knew it was going to be the same for me...but it wasnt. I got 3 strips of brisket. The baked beans were good, almost a little too sweet. The broccoli bacon salad was a cold dish, and was tossed in a overly sweet white sauce. Think coleslaw but instead of shredded lettuce, broccoli. I wasn't a fan. The macaroni and cheese was more like a boxed product. However the chicken tenders were super good and I highly recommend those. All that for 48 bucks. I was pleasantly surprised the machine didn't ask for a tip, that was nice.

In good weather their outdoor patio looks like a great place to sit down and enjoy your All American burgers, fries and shakes. In colder seasons their indoor facilities are countrified and comfortable for those purists who choose to eat on premises to have their food right off the grill or deep fryer when they are at the peak of flavor. Apparently, their ice cream and soft serve are also noteworthy. I did takeout, and thought something was lost in the time it took to get home. The cheeseburger was still hot, juicy and delicious, but the fries had lost their crispness and were over salted. Similarly, my vanilla soft serve had partially melted and separated into a sweet cool slurry and a still composed core that had much less of the expected taste. Definitely eat right there to maintain maximum enjoyment. Service was friendly and welcoming with beautiful smiles all around. Four Farm to Table Stars, but be sure to eat right there for the full experience.

First the location: it's in a strip mall, which it shares with Kroger, a thrift store, and one of the last Roses stores around. The inside was very nice and had a real country atmosphere. Everything appeared well-kept and clean. As we entered we were quickly greeted and taken to our table. Within a few moments, we had our two sweet teas, and our order was taken. Let's say wow - our order was delivered to our table in maybe 7-8 minutes. I was in total shock. The meals. The wifey has the Monte Cristo French Toast meal. I could tell she liked it a lot. As I look at her taking her first full bite and her eyes are blasting open. She said it was absolutely outstanding. As for me, I had Biscuits & Gravy with potatoes and bacon. I will also tell you I was very happy with the taste and the portion. As for service: We had a young lady named Stephanie. I bet she checked on us 6-7 times during our stay and we were not her only table. She was just that attentive. Total for two of us - $33 which include includes a hefty state and local tax. 12.25% - Virginia and localities have gotten out of control. So I will give this place a solid 5-star review and hope that if you're passing through - and need a nice breakfast or lunch, go on in.

Some friends and I ended up here after realizing the Gourmet Burger Bistro closes early on New Years Day (oops), but honestly it worked out in our favor. I've been seeing Amici's floating around online for YEARS and just never got around to visiting ... but better late than never because babyyyy the food was hittin'. Y'all do NOT judge a book by its cover. From the outside it definitely gives a little "divey neighborhood spot," but the food? FYE. Way better than you'd ever expect walking in! Now I gotta talk about this Caesar salad. When it hit the table, I made a face at my homegirl because why did I see tomatoes in my Caesar salad!? In all of my almost 34 years of life I've never seen that before. But listen, I took one bite and had to humble myself because it was honestly one of the best Caesars I've ever had. Got me right together. We also got the hot caprese queso appetizer with foccacia bread and it was absolutely delicious. My chicken parmesan pasta was also amazing. I put the leftover caprese queso on top of the pasta and it was a wrap from there! Me and all my friends agreed that the food was really good despite our first impressions. I'm officially adding Amici's to my list of places to visit whenever I'm in Hampton Roads.
