I went to Target to get a greeting card. Even though they have a huge parking lot, it was still pretty full. It must be the time of the year during the holiday season. The store was immaculate. There were plenty of store employees there so I did not have any trouble finding help to the card section. I would not hesitate to return to Target in the future. read more

So I can end this with a good note, I'll start with the bad: The toilets in the ladies room were filled with sodden unflushable toilet paper. The handicap toilet had poop smeared above water level. The bathroom had not been checked in several hours according to the bathroom check sheet. Clothing was piled on the floor in the ladies section. And here's the good: Canned corn was on sale for 59 cents a can, so I stocked up. Cart wipes were available by the front entrance and they were large, soft, and sturdy. read more

This target has really gone downhill. This used to be my favorite target and I would could here from Cambridge because it's clean and has the best selection. HOWEVER...I was here tonight and since my last visit, pretty much any medicine, toiletry, or laundry item is locked in lock counters. They have sensors on them that say wave your hand under them. I wanted excedrin migraine, waved my hand under the sensor, and stood there for 7 minutes with no response. Next I went to the laundry detergent, waved my hand under the sensor, and stood there for 5 minutes. On a time crunch I went to get my other items, and returned to the detergent, where I again waved my hand and waited another 7 minutes while standing at the end of the aisle so associates could see me. The employees were walking around the store herding people out at this point, as it's now minutes to closing. The same associate walked by me twice with no acknowledgement, and 3 others walked by me once with no acknowledgement. Finally I was able to waive one down, who said "we're closing. Everyone is leaving." I told him I'd love to do the same, but I've been standing there for 8 minutes trying to get Tide pods I'd come for (15 minutes between both trips). I was finally able to go to the checkout. Once there the checkout clerk said 0 words to me the entire encounter, despite my greeting him. He did make sure to clunk my breakables into the bags, and only put 2 items per bag, which created the need of WAY more bags than necessary. I ended up consolidating my items into a reasonable amount of bags while he was still scanning my items and returning the extra bags. I gave up on the excedrin migraine, though this experience certainly created a need for it. There was a target circle promo for $15 gift card with $50 home purchase, which I would have met with the excedrin, but ended up missing out on thanks to none of them answering their scanning devices for all the locked items. read more

Registered for a baby registry, they tell you to download the app, and scan what you want. We spent about an hour in the store, Nothing was stocked on the shelf (newly renovated store, like a month ago), there was no bar codes to scan. So we decided to go home and add what we wanted on the app. More then half the items on the app are NOT available in stores AND NOT available online. What's the f*cking point of having it on the app? This place used to and always has done a great job in cleanliness and organization considering how much business it does, but now the Watertown Target is on a level above the rest of the Target stores. While the crowds here have been slightly eliminated, since the crowds from Boston now have brand new stores in all Fenway, Brookline, and Cambridge. This location still does the most business in the state, though. Anyway, it was just renovated to a whole new complete design that is just fantastic. It's so clean, modern, organized, and full of merchandise. I never complain with this store because I appreciate how attentive the associates are to detail addressing issues especially considering how much more work they have than the other stores. For instance, the Framingham store (which I don't necessarily have problems at either) doesn't do nearly as much business, but it is definitely more of a mess consistently and attention to detail is not at a premium. The remodel here was well deserved since it is so busy, and was in need of a refresh. Staff are always friendly, plenty of registers at both the mall entrance and the main entrance, including nearly twenty self checkout registers (the rest of the Target's only have four!). In March 2021, the 30th arount 730pm to be exact, I came in to return 15 sleeper sets at $25/piece I also had a few other things to return, but I had the receipts. While doing the $460 return the computer crashed in the middle of printing the reciept and NOW It's June 5th 2021 and I still have not received my refund that I was told would take up to 3 day. Was there yesterday with my son. Afternoon. An employee "Neil" was at the mall entrance. He was impatient with every employee in line that had trouble with the self-checkouts. Became belligerent at many employees about how they stood in line. He blocked egress with shopping carts and would try to force people out of line or scold them for not going out of the line. Security cameras would at least show his demeanor. This employee should be working in the back of the store (stock room) and not have any customer contact. read more

The experience at Watertown Target is awful. The lines are always long and painfully slow. Any day any time. The self checkout is dreadful. The people at the Guest Service desk are devoid of patience and happiness. They are constantly miserable and I imagine that they are treated like dirt by management because there is no way that there are this many miserable hourly associates in one department without management making it this way. Every time I ask employees about where something was located they gave me some bullshit answers such as "Its seasonal" or "They are outta stock" and I end up finding it. I asked for chair cushions and this guy tells me its seasonal. WTF. How are chair cushions seasonal? I ended up finding it by myself. Then I asked a lady where the rain coats were and she pointed to the other side of the store. I understand the are certain hours right now for elderly ect with everything going on. But when they people at the door tell you that you can't go inside to pick up an order but then let others in for the same thing that's just rude. I called the "service" desk and asked if I could just come grab my stuff like the other people did and was told yes, asked my name then hung up on. Called again and let it ring for 5 minutes before I saw the man I had talked to (Joe) and asked him about my question. He then rudely told me to stand tp a different side(where they had told others picking up orders to stand but not me). Went in to pick up an order I had placed on line. Waited for someone to show up to the customer service desk for about 5 minutes. Once someone finally did, the kid decided to go up to the people standing behind me in line to ask them what they needed. I then told him nicely I had arrived first which followed by him grunting at me and asking for my ID. He then shows back up and hands me the order without a word or even raising his head. I understand that working retail as a teenager probably isn't a glamorous job, but the very LEAST he could have done is say hello or even acknowledge my existence as a customer. Rude. read more

LAWD HAVE MERCY Always busy. Always crowded. ALWAYS. ALWAYS. ALWAYS. I really needed a few items and had to come here on a Saturday....yea I know. Targets are those places that families go to for outings. Instead of Six Flags, IHOP or the movies, they rather come shop at Target and bring THE ENTIRE FAMILY! Now I don't see anything wrog with this, but LAWD it gets crowded. I alway make sure that I memorize my list and like that old show Supermarket Sweep- I get in and get the heck out in under 30mins! But I keep coming back for more because they have the best stuff. I always love buying coffee creamers, DVD's and cosmetics. There are some cute little workers here too that are always willing to lend a helping hand. Thank goodness the parking lot is the size of a football field because I usually end up parking at Friendy's because that's where the only available spaces are. read more

I'm convinced that since there are no Wal-Marts in a 5 mile vicinity, this Target has filled the void. This is not your typical target with friendly and helpful people. Most of its employees have the worst attitude in the country for a big box, so bad I can't even give it two stars for "always having parking", "clean floors", or a Starbucks inside. The last time I went a year ago, it was so bad I stopped going to the chain altogether (even though I know other locations are better). Worst first: I tried to make an online return (a $200 Serta air mattress that had a HOLE in it) and ended up getting yelled, yes yelled, at by the supervisor and manager. They refused to even look at my receipt, they said they can set a store return policy to whatever they want and set me on my way with $200 down the drain from a manufacturer's defect. OK? 1) This is not corporate policy for online returns (I know because corporate gave me $20 for this experience after accepting my return by mail) 2) It is in violation of Massachusetts retail law for fair consumer practices (you can report to attorney general if you feel motivated) A week earlier, I went trying to find Christmas stockings (before Christmas), it was like dealing with a municipal government in a newly formed country. Besides a healthy dose of the Boston attitude (every "team member" was pissed off or just hates customers), each person kept sending me four aisles over to someone else. Four employees and 20 minutes of wandering later, I approached one of the initial team members and made then walk me over to where they told me to go. They sort of just shrugged when it wasn't there. Christmas stockings! 15% of the floorspace was dedicated to Christmas decorations! No assistance whatsoever. I couldn't even get a verdict on whether or not they carry Christmas stockings (even though the website listed inventory there) and I should go to another location that had them. I ended up with a few impulse buys, but wasted a good half hour here on something simple. Moral of the story, buy here if you have to for convenience, but be ready to drive to Everett or another location for returns or spend a half hour on the phone with corporate. Target overall will survive Amazon.com, but will do a whole lot better if they axe this location so they stop losing customers for life. read more

I never usually go out on Black Friday but did this year. I had to wait long duration's in a line to get a guy to give me one of the Video games in the key locked case. In front of the cases are single plastic cases for display purposes with the price tags right underneath, these are usually not taken out. The Game said 29.99 on it, the employee with the key didnt give me the games out of the case behind it he took the game out of the display and handed it to me. Which was fine. Then I had to wait in a line at Checkouts. When I got to the Checkout cashier she scanned the item and told me it was over 100.00 dollars! In which I said "Excuse me that seems high as it says 29.99?" The girl Cashier went and got the front desk manager (head cashier?) An Overweight Short Black woman (No badge). Who right away had an attitude problem. I told her what it says for the price and which employee handed me the game, where he took it from; The display case right over the 29.99 price tag which are only accessible under lock and key. Her words " Oh, No! You ain't getting this for no 30 dollars, Its 100 " This is called Bait and Switch, and it's illegal Target! You cannot advertise a price and then at register raise the price tag. I had to wait for a long time I told her and had to be moving along but came in to buy this and only pickup a package at customer service. Her only reply "Do you have any more Items sir?" with a nasty tone. I spoke with another manager about the incident but these people dont care one bit about the customer. As I told the secondary manager I am not there to steal from them, I do not appreciate being treated like a Thief right from the get go without even hearing me out first!!! They didn't even contact the electronics guy about the situation which may have cleared things up quicker. Why is the game on Display for 29.99 and comes up as 100.00 on the Register! It was never explained, they only told me they would not do the purchase and they wanted to walk me to the back in electronics to get another game at 29.99. The @#^(? I was however told by the secondary manager that he was sorry for her actions and that people should not speak to me in such a way, unfortunately it stuck with me, of coarse as it was also embarrassing. Retail stores are going out of business and we all know Target is also loosing this battle. I will not be back again here nor online, This was Target's mistake and with their mistake they took it out on the Customer. I understand It was Black Friday but that doesn't mean everyone is a suspect trying to screw you over if something strange pops up. read more

It was pretty much Wal-mart before the remodel (because Boston keeps Wal-mart far away, so something has to be THA WAL-MART of the area), but I could find what I needed and get out, or browse if I felt like it. I felt uneasy when they started putting black-clothed aestheticians (I don't know if they are licensed or just pretend) in the beauty section to help me zero in on the same box of hair dye I buy every month or a new nail file. It's Target, not Lord & Taylor. Now they have arranged an extreme maze of BS in the beauty area, so you cannot find anything, and no aesthetician anywhere so you can find the thing you know you want. It's just wandering around and around a section of the store to slow down and browse and find items you didn't know about and still don't want to buy, and so it appears more luxe, but it is disorganized and annoying to the person who needs to RUN AND DONE LIKE THE ADS. I wasted 20 f minutes wandering separate aisles and small displays making sure the item was not there, and extra minutes at CVS, and it was not there either. Seems Target has taken the utilitarian staples of a beauty tool kit out, and pretend it's an oasis of luxury with only the expensive versions of these items now. I didn't say before, but this also makes all the other customers slow down. I know that's what Target wants, but as a Target customer, I want to run in and run out with exactly the thing I expected to find, and buy it at around the price I expected Target to sell it. I don't want or need it to be fancy. I don't want displays that distract the slow poke walking before me. I come in here to buy tissues, or soap, or a package of underwear or a birthday card, and I know that is why I have to stop at Target. I don't want it to take forever, and I don't want to be stuck behind someone who strolls so casually in the aisles like they are in a high-end dept. store, who thinks they need your cheap off-brand sunglasses or lamps. Marshall's is across the street with way better brands cheap and HomeGoods is less than a mile away. Why Target not understand their customers want to find what they have on their list and get out. I want what I think is in Target, and it's a terrible policy to move those items or stop stocking them. It's a terrible policy to screw with your customers' expectations of what you are, and try to be more fancy and waste customers' time as they wander and wander with increasing frustration that you no longer stock the item they came in for!!!! I've given Target in Watertown 3 chances, and I hate myself if I have to go in for something, but I hate myself even more when they don't have the item(s) I want! Unreliable Target!!!! read more

This store has issues! Mainly in the way the employees are told to display products. Corporate for product placement has decided that for maximum profit sprinkle a little bit of everything everywhere so they never miss an opportunity for a sale. Good for them I suppose? Bad for sales/stock employees who have to constantly clean up the disorganization. As a customer you witness the stress on the employees and you see the disorder and it is unpleasant for all. I have been to this Target a few times over the past few years, but OMG... I went in yesterday & you would have thought it was Black Friday... it was a Mob Scene... I dont get it, maybe its back to school & a big College crowd was there, It was just total chaos... I walked around the store for a good 10 mins before we could even find a carriage... Thankfully EVERY register was open, thats how things should be... Not like Walmart with 3 open... So I was in line & checked out in less than 5... But I was just amazed how busy it is... They seem to have everything, kids clothes assortment could have more things but I can deal... We stopped in so the baby could use his Bday GIft Cards... The Toy selection was nice! read more

I spent $88.39 on 12/11/21 at 05:23pm. At cashier, they handed me 2 bags but forgot 2 items costs $8 each. I realized after I got home and called them right away. Dealt with a super douche extraordinaire here. I came to see if by *ANY* chance I could gain some insight on the best chances/ways of getting an NES Classic Mini from their electronics department. Super douche extraordinaire cut me off and said "Uh there's a sign over there," *grumble, fart, burp.* The aforementioned sign noted that while NES Classics were being advertised, they were very limited quantities and currently out of stock. I guess saying "Sorry we're out of them," was harder than pointing to a sign. It was like asking a neanderthal for advice. ME GRUMPY, YOU GO AWAY. I've never felt so turned off by an interaction with an employee to the point where I've come to Yelp about it. This is a nice store. I like Target. But their customer service on the phone is horrendous. Needless to say, someone hit my car and I told the security on duty and he informed me that the camera was too far from my car. Is your camera's that old they can't zoom in to see someone's pocket? I had to escalate this issue to the Watertown PD. Needless to say, the returns to this store is cake. You explain them the issue and they'll help you out ASAP unlike Walmart or Best Buy's. read more

NOT COVID SAFE DO NOT USE SELF CHECKOUT Horrendous experience, i would not go here. I came in on 5/3/21 around 2pm and at 2:30 pm i tried to check out with a few small items. Its mid day on a monday where there were not many customers. everything was backed up and multiple groups of people were wandering around trying to find a cashier. I wait in one line and the cashier waits until ringing up the entire cart ahead of me to THEN tell me its closed. Okay so i go to the next lane over. The next person there rings up a whole family with kids and when its my turn they just up and leave the entire register without saying anything. Which both transactions took a long time. Okay, it happens. So i then try to go to self service checkout. At this point i am rushing and just throwing things in bags as fast as i possibly can. And this blondish older woman/worker with an accent then comes up to me and asks me "can i show you something" and before i can even react shes touched the screen im in the middle of using, and completely stopped me in the middle of my transaction for the targets rewards program which i already said i didnt want and that i was busy and had to go. Why are you touching my screen during a pandemic when im clearly rushing to get out of the store??? I did not give her permission. I said no thank you. She does this to everyone at the self checkout. Shes touching all the screens and did not sanitize her hands. So now everyones germs from all the screens are being transferred to one another because shes touched them in the middle of each persons transaction. She does this to everyone and has done this to me every freaking time im in the store. At least wait for me to respond before changing my menu options. Then i finally get to the parking lot and i go to return my cart which is right by my car. They were emptying the train of carts so i asked if i could add mine. I was told it was full, so i said okay i will walk over to the other station.Then another worker comes up to me and says that it doesnt fit. He insisted on taking the cart off my hands after i already told him a few times its okay. And then proceeds to thoroughly explain to me why the shape of the cart doesnt fit, after i was already told it doesnt fit and said okay. The first worker does nothing to stop his coworker in a clearly uncomfortable and time consuming conversation. Then i had to sit in my car and wait for them to move the train of carts while a 3rd worker goes up to them and the 3 of them are standing and chatting. I just wanted to get out of that freaking store with my few items. By that time its like 2:56pm and ive spent almost 30 minutes trying to get out of this slow store on a mid monday morning. I visited here again today and I dread going to this location. It is constantly mobbed and even though they remodeled the store and made it larger with food items, it is a constant struggle to find a parking space and battle with the long lines at checkout. If you really must visit a Target, go to Natick/Framingham. At least that location is not constantly mobbed and you can find a parking space. read more

The Starbucks in this Target just took home the prize for Most Ratchet Cup of Coffee, a title I didn't even know existed in my books until I naively wandered into this establishment. My misfortune. I ordered a Green Tea Latte and watched incredulously as the barista proceeded to fill up a cup of milk, haphazardly dump two arbitrary spoonfuls of green tea powder that barely made the circumference of the cup, cap it, and then manually mix the drink with four languid swirls of her wrist, before handing it to me with green dripping down the sides. This hand spun drink tasted exactly how you would expect it to taste based on the above description. With all the green tea sediments on the bottom in clumps that made drinking it somewhat akin to sucking up balls of sand through a straw. How do you mess up coffee as standardized across the world as Starbucks? Unless your machine was broken, I don't care if you were trying to get in some extra muscle building with your wrist action, but you need to skedaddle back to Barista 101. read more

I want to recognize the customer service desk at the Target at the Arsenal Mall. I am a Special Needs teacher of children with Autism. Last spring I made one of my students a unique communication book; she was nonverbal, so this book was her only way of communicating her wants and needs. One morning her mother told me that she had forgotten the book in their shopping cart the day before. She broke the news to me with tears in her eyes; she felt awful. Due to her circumstances, she did not have a car of her own and relied upon others to get her around. English was not her first language so she did not know if the staff would be able to understand her over the phone. That afternoon I ventured over to the store, asked the customer service desk if they had found a book by its description, and they informed me that one of their employees who was collecting carts rescued it. It was also raining that day, so when I say rescue, I mean it! The book was totally intact. They could have easily thrown it away, but they didn't. Because of that, me, the student and her mother are all so grateful. Words cannot even describe... Good deeds and honest work do not get recognized enough in this world, so instead of being like one of these "lovely" reviewers who complains about superficial layout issues, prices, parking, or any number of the issues that go along with corporate chain stores, I want to say that I experienced first hand that the people who work at this Target are fabulous individuals who deserve a big high five. l know this is a serious rant, but it was such a bad experience. You might as well just skip on to the next review. My sister gave me a shelf from target which was too large. So I went to return it, I had the original bag and the receipt. The box was never opened. The problem was that I didn't have my sister's credit card. So I had several options, go home and come back in 10 days, drive out to western mass to return it at the store purchased at, or take a gift card. There were lots of rules about proper return policy on the receipt, but the credit card issue was not mentioned. So I took a gift card and went shopping. I wasn't planning on being picky, I just wanted to spend the card while I was at a store I don't usually go to. (I am more of a Second Hand store type). First the store was 76 Deg. I know this because I checked the thermometers in the car department. It is winter, it is 30 Deg outside. I am wearing winter clothes. Like long pants, wool socks, a long sleeve shirt, a sweater, a winter coat even. I am carrying gloves, scarf, a hat. I am trying to do my part to save the environment. I have to undress as much as possible and store it all in the cart. Next, I learned the Three Rules of Traffic for Shoppers at Target: 1) If you are in someone's way, It's OK. Polite people wait. 2) If someone is in your way, you wait. REALLY. I saw people waiting 3-4 minutes for someone to finish looking at something. This would have been a nicety, except it went too far and made me wonder if anyone had a job to go to or kids to watch. 3) If you point out that someone is in your way, you will be stared at. Both by the person in your way and by everyone else who heard you say "Excuse me". By the way if someone implies that you might be in the way, see rule 1) What confused me was that it was not rude to make people wait 3-4 mins. Finally, This Target seems to have a lot of kinds of things, but very few of each thing. For example: Only about 10 pretty sheet sets for $80.00 to $120.00 and 3 solid color plolysester sets on the end of the aisle for $9.99. $9.99 seems a magic number for white goods on the aisle ends. Duvet covers started at $87.00. Curtains, the 3 solid color polysester sets on the ends for $9.99 and a one row of about 10 patterns of panels starting at $19.99. You need 4 panels and 2 valences per window. Thats at least $120.00 per window. Power tools, I use my tools a lot, like every day. The quality of these was real bad. But they would do if you only use them a couple of times a year. Frying pans, I can push the center in and out with my hands. Not a good alternative if you have an electric stove. Food, was pretty cheap, except for what was VERY expensive. The brushes for our battery powed toothbrushes, usually $19.99 a pack at CVS were $23.00 at Target. I wonder if people shopping for food do a check on the price of every item each time they buy. Childrens clothes were the exception. If they don't shrink they are a pretty good buy and most do not have little pink crowns and on the edge sexy sayings. They have some cute age appropriate sayings like "Blame my Sister". If you only buy what is on the aisle ends you save money. I didn't need anything that was on an aisle end. And even if it is not Walmart, that doesn't excuse the low wages. The only excuse for shopping at Walmart or Target is that they have pushed everyone else out of business and there is no where else to go to work or to shop. If you are going to shop here, at least don't brag about it. Wall Street Journal says that 75%-80% of what you spend at a store like this goes out of the country. This is money which could be used for universal health insurance. So if you shop here at least vote to fix the problem so that someday there might be some place for people to work where they might get health insurance. Too bad I don't have any little kids to buy for or I could spend my gift card. If I don't spend it, it is free money for Target. The good thing is that I am now in Watertown, which is has more owner run diners than any other town in Massachusetts and it is lunch time. read more

I feel dumb for reviewing a Target. The way I see it, for the most part, chains are chains. However, I visit this Target about twice a week so I figure I should give it props. This Target has everything and I just love everything Target does. Their design and brands amazing, totally what sets it apart from its competitors. I will buy everything that is the "generic" Target brand because it will usually be better than the leading brand, and DEFINITELY more creative. Clothes, food, home products, pretty much anything, I will buy it if it's the Target brand. I like to buy fresh food, so I come here for the rest of my grocery shopping (non-perishables, cleaning supplies, odds and ends) so I can avoid Shaws. My love affair with this Target is so bad that I will come here even if I don't need anything and leave with some items that I didn't need, but still love. My recommendation is to pick up a beverage when you walk in then sip it as your browse. They have a Starbucks, but they also have HUGE icees for $1.25! Can't beat that! It WILL be ridiculously crowded, and the service varies, but come on. It's Target. Also, not a fan of the dressing rooms because it's not a clothing store. Figure out what your size is there and just buy what you like. This place takes a fair percentage of my money, and I don't mind one bit. read more

holy crap. I usually love this target. So, i stay up really late. i work night shifts so 3,4am isn't a big deal for me. I wanted to know if this target (my local store) was open for labor day. I figured they probably would've been, since most stores are these days (but with limited hours). this extermely rude woman just answered the phone and was very curt and nasty. I kindly said "hi! i was just wondering if you guys were going to be open today on labor day?" the response i got was "yes we are and the automated message should've told you that we were closed right now." i'm thinking, well okay, but it connected me to you so...you can't talk to me for 30s? and i said "oh, well it didn't....but, so, are you guys open today?" and all i get is "mhm bye" i would never put this on a public forum but. WHAT A BITCH. don't answer the phone if you're going to talk to customers like that! read more

TOTALLY useless and strange electronics personnel. Thought is give target a try instead of best buy to look for a fitness tracker. I was ready to spend $150 or whatever the little fitbit-esque technologies cost but the guy in electronics was royally useless. I walked into the section and got no recognition- he was playing on some sort of device as I tried to get his attention to ask about the bracelets. Every question I asked was met with a 1 word answer and immediate breakage of eye contact. Then looking for guidance I took out my phone and looked up amazon reviews of products. Apparently me being immersed on my phone was interesting so then I was stared at. I found one little device - simple pedometer - was $17 higher in store than the amazon price so I decided to just get it online. AS IF THE GUY WASNT WEIRD ENOUGH TO BEGIN WITH as I Headed to the exit after touching nothing in the dept he followed me the whole way. Super strange employee. Nothing like typical target customer service. Incredibly disappointing and creepy experience. Needless to say I'm never shopping in their tech area. read more
